Atlesta u know where they are stocked...ask them when the next delievery is and try and be the first in. They r in the pork section because the charms are made of marshmallow which contains pork gelatine

Hiya hun, The huge park n shop warehouse near the green community had them a few months ago...they were located in the p0rk section upstairs...it was the only park n shop that i have seen them in, u could give it a go...this was a good few months ago so im not sure if they r still stockedl. Maybe call them? Or just pop down, its huge, u might find loads of other things that r over priced too. X

Yay... The same happened to me when I was pregnant with my first too...i also experienced glowing skin and fuller and thicker hair. The hair however is back to normal, if not worse now :( Someone told me that when ur expecting girls the hair thickens up and its the opposite with boys...i wouldn't mind what i have next (not planning to find out this time) but i hope what ever i have it prompts fuller hair again even if it is for the duration of my pregnancy.

Hiya ladies, I haven't been checking this thread because i was given 3rd April as my due date by Dr Anne Phillips but Dr George as the genesis clinic gave me the 31 March...i was 4 days early with my first so I'll be checking both threads...hope thats ok. Saggi 1... Instead of buying loads of maternity clothes have u thought of wearing maxi dresses...i found them so easy during my pregnancy....i did buy a few maternity wear too but its so hrd to find something nice...I'll be looking n Max as they are reasonable also bcos we may think this is our last :| hi MrsDB... congratulations and most welcome to be part of this group too... are you happy with Dr Anne... i am still considering to change to someone else...infact i loved Dr George - he was so much better in communication than Dr Anne... also she goes of on leave every three months... which makes it very hard to plan regular check ups... she is also planning feb/march holiday and may not be available during the delivery, please check i just ordered a few dresses from Asos... yeah i love maxi dresses and still fit into some of my beach wear ... haha but cant pull it off at work... Hiya Saggi1, I totally understand what u mean about Dr Anne, she seems so nice but both times I've been in shes either had to rush me because there's a delivery or loved to talk about her family who r all Drs lol. I also find that its hard to get a word in at times... I'm planning on going home for the birth which is why I think i might just stick with it...shes a diamond compared to the NHS too lol I cnt help u with maternity work wear sorry, I've never experienced it...i hope u find something soon

Hey excitednewmum, Congratulations on ur pregnancy...i remember how daunting it was for me too when I was pregnant with my first...i had only been here for ten days. I'm at City Hospital too, i see Dr Anne Phillips, i hear good things about her but i am in two minds, however i am going bk to the UK for the delivery so i might just stick with her. How is Dr Ibrahim and CitronKB how is Dr Elsa? Would love to meet u all...are u all working or stay at home mums? Days are getting cooler now so we could do safa park, even on weekends if u guys want to bring hubbies along too? It's so nice to tlk to mums that are going through the same experience.

Hiya Ladies, I knw its a bit early to be thinking about having the christmas tree up but im trying to think of the best solution. My little girl will be 17 months when the tree goes up but im worried it would just be hard work for me...im sure that she'll just love pulling the whole thing apart, chewing on the decorations or even try pull the whole thing down. I was thinking of maybe buying a mini one when the time comes and have it up on the breakfast table...how are u all planning to have trees and toddlers?

Hey Ladies So i went to the consultation yday afternoon...the lady used some sort of magnifying device, it was really good as i managed to see the texture and health of each hair. However my feelings were right, as she took the device towards my scalp it showed how far apart each hair was growing from another, meaning its thinning. She told me head and shouldres isnt a good shampoo to use (may have just been a selling technique). She then showed me some products i could use but unfortunatelt i cant use them as i am pregnant and will be breastfeeding. Im now just gna google what fruit is best for hair growth, blend them up and have it everyday. My MIL does this since forever and her hair it so thick its unreal.

I'll defo be heading dwn there tomorrow at some point for sure. Maybe check it out X

I don't care what anyone says, CIO is not for us. I cannot bear to hear my baby scream and not be able to console her. So - are there any ways, we can get her down without the crying? Or should we just wait it out til she sleeps through when she's ready. How much of the bottle did she have? Maybe she was hungry (if she had loads of it)....i had to change my feeding routine to fit her sleeping pattern as i needed her to be fuller for longer....she goes down to bed at 8pm so 7pm i give her porridge...it's slightly lumpy. She has a big bowl of it and then and hour of active play to digest and tire her out. This feed carries her through the night. However, when i was training her i went in to dream feed her at 10.30-11, this would carries her through to begin with (she was 4 months). When my instinct told me she was okay I then slowly dropped the dream feeds and continued as i mentioned above (by 6 months). Sorry to hear ur having a hard time hun...i hope this helps xx

Oh god she has been crying for 17 mins now, it is heartbreaking. By some miracle DH has not woken up as he came in late from shisha so I have been listening to it. I think she has stoppednow. She wakes 2 or 3 times like this, normally we run in with a dummy, she goes down at 6pm no problems. So do I just let her cry with each wakeup and it should get less and less? :( Yes, it should get less. Babies are intelligent creatures. They will not invest time and energy when they know it's useless. You'll see. Just make sure that she's not too cold, too warm, hungry (at this age they are capable of going without food/milk during the night) or has a dirty nappy. It's not easy TDB, but hang in there! Personally, from experience, i think 17 minutes is too long. I never let my daughter cry for more than 10 mins. If she did, i went in and gave her a cuddle, just to comfort her and let her knw everything was okay. I had to do this about 2 or 3 times and she realised nothing was gna change and she put herself to sleep. Have u spoke to ur hubs? How did it go? I always find these conversations difficult as it seemed like he felt he was being judged as a parent by me and didnt like being told what to do...hope it goes well for u. X

Hiya AnonDubai, Congrats on ur pregnancy too...ur doing a great job by breastfeeding at the same time too. Meagle is right, ur supply could have easily dropped due to ur hormones...have u tried to squeeze some out ur self either by hand or a pump to check ur supply? I stopped breastfeeding my daughter at 13months as soon as i found out i was pregnant with baby number too...i found she wasn't drinking for long either but i think that was because she was full of the food she eats now. This is only because when i checked my supply it was normal, even though i dropped to one feed by that time....i also wanted to stop because i didn't want her to get too attached before baby number two comes along....to my surprise she wasnt attached atall...i just stopped and she never asked for it...come to think about it, maybe she was self weaning too.

Hiya TDB, I really do understand what you're going through...there were a few things that i wanted to ensure my little girl was doing before baby number two sleeping through and eating was defo up there. I managed to train my girl to sleep through in three days...some may not agree with my way but it has worked perfectly. She is up from 1.30-8. It took me exactly three days to get her use to staying up until 8 (just wouldn't let her shut her eyes, which usually started from 6pm) it was a long two hours each of the three days but I was always told it takes a baby up to three days to get use to things if u continue, so i tried it out for myself and it worked. To my surprise she doesn't even fall asleep in the car now so come 8pm i knw she'll sleep. Recently shes been dragging me to her bedroom at 8 and climbing up her cot to get in. Does ur daughter have her own room? If so maybe u could get a camera so ur hubs can see her before running over to her...I gta admit i was like that first but we let her cry it out and again it only took three days. As for food...does ur daughter happily eat the finger food when its given to her or not? I had the exact same issue with mine. Everyone kept telling me not to worry as shes too young and she was on purée food until 11 months. I would keep offering finger food to her, the best way for me was to leave it on her table and walk away...they tend to experiment more without the pressure of us staring at them, now shes hoovering up everything. Defo talk to ur hubs and let him know its a learning process for her too, but his feelings are perfectly normal too. Oh just remembered...does ur daughter have something for comfort? My daughter loves her blanket, i bought three of the same, she sleeps with two and one is for when we go out. It really helps she sleep and feel safe and secure in her cot...maybe you could try put her comfy thing in with her? Hope it goes well for u xx

Morning everyone, Thank u all for ur msgs and kind advice. After taking it all in i figured u all was right about the silent treatment, so i had a wrd with my hubs last night. Everything went smoothly, it turned out that his way of making peace was slightly odd, which he thought he did attempt but got no response from me, im glad we sorted it. Benoir, when do u go to the soft play at IBN? I always go there, will make it more regular now. Will keep an eye out for u if u tell me what to look out for ;) Bongo74, that group sounds lovely, i will defo look into it, thank you Thanks to u all xx

Thank you for ur advice ladies... He is always on his work phone...he owns the company so i always get told..."do u want to live here, or do u want us to go back to my mothers house" The first night i was annoyed,i was in our bedroom after giving him dinner...it took him 4 hours to come to tlk to me. All i said was "it's funny how u come to tlk to me four hours after uve got home from work and 2 mins from the time ur gna start snoring".... I ended up in tears and told him exactly how I felt. I got nothing, he didnt respond to anything, he just turned his back and fell asleep. This has happened a few times since we've been here and he knows how I feel but every so often it feels like we're back to square one...I've even thought of going home to my mum now bcos i hate feeling like this especially when I'm expecting again :(

The ladies are right hun, there is no need for you to feel bad. I can only tell u from experience how difficult it was for me when I first started...the cracked nipples, minimum supply, each feed lasted about 1.5hours and i was feeding her so often. I really wanted to stop but i knew the more i did it the better the production will be. I ended up feeding her for just over 12 months and i still feel bad that i stopped bcos i knw it was the best thing for her... I was very stressed when i first had her and i was told stress levels really affects the supply...could this be the case for u? My supply defo increased when i came bk to Dubai and left my family in the UK.

Congrats Jgk, Is this ur first? I thought we were going into our third months too but our dr has said I'm unsure that if ur due on the 18th March or the 3rd April....so confused as to how there can be such a big gap...now i dnt knw when I'm due...I have another appointment on Tuesday so hopefully things will be more clearer then. Anyhow...are u giving urself the option of a c section or a natural delivery? I had a natural one with my first, i was frightened as it was my first time but it went smoothly. I did tear but i had no discomfort atall and was back to normal straight away. I can't really comment on c section except i know u need loads more rest to heal, i was actually contemplating between the two too....but both mums were so against it. Nannies: sorry i can't comment on this either as i do not have one. However i think most ppl use companies word of mouth...try the maids link in the homepage. I think u could bring ur own from India or wherever if u trust someone personally, but u will have to look into that. Indian food: i can defo help u with that, I'm Indian too and when I stayed with my MIL she only ever cooked Indian veg food. It is perfectly fine to eat and they say that ghee is meant to help make the deliver easier along with badam milk too. I ate it because i had no choice if I'm completely honest. I ended up being 15kg over my weight after birth, so i will defo avoid it now. I was also given halva, drowned in ghee and a Mithai, made of nuts (can't remember the name), again made with ghee after delivery, as they said it will help my uterus shrink and help me produce milk...I dnt believe it did any of that as my weight only reduced after i adapted a strict workout plan...I will defo be careful this time round. What food is being offered to u? Meet ups: we can all meet up if everyone agrees on a day and place, it would be great, i did so last yr with the group too...we had a lovely get together at safa park, everyone bought a snack but i think its a bit hot for an outdoor gathering...any suggestions?

Skype.com isn't blocked anymore, so you should be able to download it without any issues. You can also get it from sites like download.com, without any need for a VPN. I use it for Skype to Skype calls, which are free and don't require a VPN. I used to also use it for Skype to Mobile/Landline, which you had to pay for. You also had to use a VPN for this, but that might have changed (I've not tried it for about 2 years). edited by HereComesTheSun on 10/09/2013 I'm sure it hasn't changed as my hubs always uses it from his laptop (no vpn) glad to know its not blocked anymore...wonder how long it will last

My 13 month old is such a handful, I'm trying to get her use to other children so 1. i can send her to a crèche a couple times a week and 2. She can get use to other children but she doesn't seem to be enjoying it atall...loves being at home...all i can do is keep trying but its hrd wrk as I'm always so tired sometimes i wish she could crawl back inside me and give her sibling company.

I was told to drop one feed at a time and replace each feed with cows milk gradually they will learn to drink milk altogether. I think I got lucky and i just stopped with no warnings and luckily my daughter didnt request it. She now only drinks cows milk from a glass (refuses it from the soppy cup). After they hit one theres no need to replace it with formula either, i never tried it myself bcoz i was told formula had a funny smell and they will not take to it atall....I don't know how true this it though. Meatless is right about the glass of champagne, u can have a few even if u are breastfeeding apparently it helps soothe the baby's teething pains too, if they have any ;)

What do you like doing? Perhaps do some hobbies you like and you will find friends. I totally agree with IzzyOnTheSeat, i've been here for nearly two years, im 27 and a mother of 1 (and one in the making) but ive found it so hrd to find mothers to bond with....its also hrd bcos all mothers have different routines that r best for their child and noone is willing to change what works for them which is totally understandable. It ws just yday i was tlking to my hubs about learning either the piano or guitar...i dabbled in it abit when i was alot younger so now i may look into putting my daughter into a playgroup so i can go mayb once a week.

Thank you so much for ur advice ladies, I've been using pull ups too but I think shes just too little to understand. She's 13 months and i want to get her trained before baby number two arrives. However i think I may have to wait until she understands words a little more, until then i will be telling her exactly what it is she is doing, taking her to the toilet when I go and even putting her on the potty even if her nappy is on so she understands the concept of sitting down.

If didn't want to be pregnant, you should have taken some precautions. Honestly, it's not the 19th century. Mwashington, what's with all the nastiness? Ever since you started posting nothing nice of helpful has come out of your "pen". How about you chill a bit and reconsider? OP no need to panic, planned or not, try to enjoy it and don't put your life on hold or go overboard, being pregnant is not some kind of illness :-) Unless your Dr has identified some risk factors, I'm surprised you were advised not to travel, perhaps you could ask them to explain why? Also call the insurance company and clarify your coverage, doesn't make sense that they would not cover a normal pregnancy. Best of luck! I'm not trying to be nasty! The woman is totally uniformed and in a full out panic - that is not a good start to parenthood! edited by mwashington on 05/09/2013 Totally agree with Big blue, everything u have to say is nasty. Mwashington...are you a parent out of curiosity? It's only natural for anyone to be a frightened if they are put into a situation they are not prepared for especially if they do not have support. Pregnancy is a big thing, its not a matter of "oh I'm not ready for it lets put it off till next time"

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. I have been at home now for 4 years and am desperate to find work, ideally part-time but even considering full-time. I have had enough being a lady of leisure and just really want to go out and work now. My CV is all up to date. My previous experience in the UK was in HR, but to be honest I am willing to do anything admin etc just to get me back in the world of work. I have no idea how to start the job searching. Are there any recruitment agencies that you can go in and talk to someone. Any one know of any jobs go anywhere ? I know someone thats looking for someone for a full time admin role, i don't know the details in full but I'm sure they'll be open to look at your cv...,the only thing i do know is that they would prefer it if you have a driving license...if u send me your email if ur interested and i can get u intouch with them? Good luck x

Hiya Linalou, First of all congratulations. I can understand the mixed emotions one might have especially if its your first pregnancy. What do u mean when u say 'what if something happens to ur husband?' try and be as positive as u can during this period as stress can effect ur babys growth. I knw everyone has to think about the what ifs and be prepared at the same time but u should really try and keep calm. My insurance didnt cover my first pregnancy atall and i spent six months here and did the rest bk in the UK...if u feel like u need more support y not travel back home, unless u r working too? Wish u all the best x

I wouldn't buy any newborn clothes as babies grow out of them within a week or so, better to get a few clothes that are 0-3months and then more 3 months onwards. I'm sure everything is available in Abu Dhabi although a Primark shop from the UK never hurts ;)
