We are growing slowly but surely :)....it's still early days so maybe not everyone is ready to share, which is understandable. I've been given the date 3rd April but hubs think the dr has got it slightly wrong (he thinks he know when it happened lol) just think it might b a little later....but at the same time, I'm sure the dr knows what she's talking about. I'm not too fussed, just glad i was positive. I'm heading to city this time as the insurance is covering this time round...although will be heading home for the birth :)

Good old north London....I grew up in Tottenham as a child and moved to Arnos grove in my teens....both areas had quick routes to get into central. I think the tube just makes it so simple no matter where u r.

Hiya Anna82 I would love to tell u that i knew of a place but i suffered some bad luck. My tyres were always getting punctured and each garage i went to all said i needed new tyres, even after they did the puncture test and found nothing. I spent so much money changing all four tyres on my 4x4.... It wasn't cheap as they had 22" rims on them too....eventually, when my car was up for a service, i took it to Audi and they told me that I have been conned as 22" rims is too big for the car and it should only carry 20"...to b extra safe i went for 19" and I haven't had a problem since. I suppose what I'm trying to say is that there are so many dodgy garages out there so just be careful. Maybe the cheapest option would be to take it to a Honda garage n get them done without any issues in the nearby future or even ask them what's best and make sure you get exactly that done at a garage whose prices are more attractive. Best of luck Xx

Hiya Hasina, I know exactly how you feel, I can't go on with my dose of hollyoaks and eastenders...we use simplyexpats.com, we do pay for it but its worth it as i just download iplayer and 4od and get to watch whatever I want. Everyone suggested coffee morning and all these other gatherings to me too....and although they sounds great i found that the regulars that go there have already formed thier group and the new ones are always singled out no matter how hard you try....hope you have more luck with them then I did.

Hey Dusha, I know exactly what you are going through as my daughter is the exact same. She is however 13months. Shes been a little better the past two week but thats because i have done what most of the ladies have suggested below. I totally stopped feeding her with a spoon and I let her touch and experiment the food herself, it just a way they learn how to eat. She was used to purè food for so long she just did not know that you could eat lumpy things too. Everyone always told me shes still young don't worry about lumps, this was my mistake. I also found my daughter was more wi lying to try the food if i walked away and left her too it. I also cut out all biscuits and crisps as she always knew that that would be my second option. Also make sure he sits at the table and watches you eat, let him take food of your plate, look at him and tell him "mmm this is tasty" he might stick his nose up at it as does my girl but even if he puts a little bit in his mouth its a good thing, taste buds develop that way. I leave pasta, meatballs, chips, rice, raisons and fruit on her table....she will only eat fruit comfortably but its a start...never stop offering it to them. I know its a messy experience but its just a way they learn. Be firm and say no when they throw it...it will stop eventually. Let us know how you get on, good luck xx

I do admire a woman who works while they are pregnant. I'm a stay at home mum and i found that difficult at times (Bordem mostly)... However when ever i felt like i was going to be sick i ate ginger nut biscuits....they totally got rid of the feeling and i never threw up once....Not until i opened up a tin of tomatoes :(

Hiya Dubai Newbie, Congratulations on ur pregnancy. I was in the exact same boat as you last year...I moved to Dubai and found out i was pregnant within ten days....I spent 6 months in Dubai and I went to The American Hospital. All in all we spent around 9AED (i ended up with UTI too :() I was told the birth itself is about £3k but we knew we wanted to head bak to the UK I think you can get ur self a health card and visit the gov hospitals, it will be cheaper but the waiting time is longer...maybe you could look into this. I'm pregnant again now too...also 8weeks, we are covered this time round but i still think we will be heading back.

My 13 month older daughter normally poops once a day but today she pooped three times, although its odd for her, im not yet alarmed as it has only happened today. She is a fussy eater and is only just starting to experiment new food so it might be due to her taking in more food. Her poop is slightly less solid than ydays so i will keep an eye on any more changes. But i was wondering how many times a day should they be pooping? Or is it a every child is different thing again?

We use to dwell on the same issue with out little girl, by the time she was 6 months we ended up moving into the guest room and she took over our room. However i was aleays worried about her so i bought a camera to keep an eye on her just i case she wakes up. She is now 13months and I've only just decorated the maids room not a nursery and moved her in. She loves her own room, wasn't affected by the change atall and i still have a camera in there to keep an eye on my little poodle. Everyone always told me different things but u just gta do wat suits u and ur family.

Hi Iamaaz, I've just found out I'm pregs and I've recently had a really bad pain where my wisdom tooth is. During my first pregnancy i suffered the same thing and luckily there wasn't much complication and i managed to get three taken out. This last one is in a funny position so we didn't touch it. However this time round the dentist told me that if she removes it i will have to go under local anaesthetic, but she warned me saying although its not 100% proven but it may affect the milk supply. She also mentioned there r some safe periods too (4-6months) Luckily my gums were the cause of the pain so she advices me to apply teething gel on it and its really helped, I'm gna try hold it off until the baby is born. Defo ask ur dr and let us know what they say, my next appointment isn't for a while.

Thanks kewlzany, i managed to do it just perfect. Mannikat, ur defo right, its not worth fighting over atall...but if i delete someone thats already on there, then that it self can cause arguements. I also agree that everyone has a right to post what's on their mind but unfortunately things don't always come across as one preserves which is the beginning of the end in some cases. My FIL only wants to see pics of his grandchild, I'm sure he couldn't careless what I'm up to anyway, think the hubs is just paranoid. Hubs has always had his profile hidden, so no one can find him, he chooses who he adds, he has none of my family on his, which is fine by me....wish I had done that now. Sometimes i really do think these social network sites do more harm than good :(

Hiya ladies, When i moved here i was unaware of any hair problems that were to come my way. To be honest i knew i had damaged my hair previously as i used to colour it for no reason. As soon as i noticed my hair started falling out i stopped and i havent looked back for the past 8 years. However when i moved here my hair started to get thicker, this was because i was pregnant and i was told to enjoy it as it will go bk to normally as soon as the baby pops out. I have now tried everytging from putting in a water filter, using coconut oil, olive oil, eggs, keratin treatment, masks, serums, hair extensions and hair cuts. Nothing seems to be working, infact i feel like i have done more damage as my parting seems to be getting wider and wider. I now use eye shadow to hide the thinning parts. I am now thinking about seeing a dermatologist? Has anyone seen one and could recommend me someone good? Or has anyone discovered the real secret behing beautiful long hair? Thanks X

Hiya all, Congrats to everyone. I have only recently found out I'm preggers with my 2nd baby :) I'm so so soooo excited, we went to see dr Anne Phillips at city and she squeezed me in...however I do think we will be returning to the UK for the birth again although my last NHS experience was terrible :( Bit concerned that i walked through the X-ray machines at the airport a few weeks back as i didn't know I was expecting, totally forgot to mention it to the dr :( Feeling a little bit more sick this time round although I'm not throwing up, ginger nut biscuits are still saving me...has this worked for anyone else?

My husband and i were considering the same thing....our little girl sleeps really well and we were convinced that hubby's snoring and us tossing and turning kept waking her up. We have a guest room but we were not comfortable moving her in there as we have too many guests and our maids room has been converted in to a salon. So we got our hands on one of those video/sound Avent cameras and we moved ourselves to the guest room when she was 7 months...and every since shes been perfect she sleeps sound from 8-6.30/7. If she makes noise the monitor will notify me of what shes up too. I can also play music to her by a click of a button :)

Omg, i love this thread, i thought i was the only one with a thoughtless husband lol After years of lets downs (while he was my boyfriend) i have given up with hint, i know just demand, its the only way i find he will get up and do something, even if he doesn't follow my requirements. So, first anniversary, i made it very clear i wanted these particular jimmy choo sunglasses....he comes back with a rose FAKE bvlgari sunglasses, thinking i wouldn't realise. Turns out he went into Jimmy Choo and asked for the wrong pair that were too expensive and the ones i wanted were more reasonable....can not believe i lost out because of hislack of memory. My first mothers day came, and i made it clear, its special, its my first....shruged his shoulders and walks out the door. But to my surprise i get a knock on the door and a delivery from Edibles....fruit dipped in chocolate, (my worst kind on treat, as i am super picky with fruit), he thought he was helping me to try more fruit but needless to say he got me something he would enjoy. Turns out they wern't so great and they rotted away lol But its the thought that counts....right???

Hiya MrsAbdalla... I got the exact same when i was pregnant...people said my life was ruined now and so on, maybe bcos i got pregnant litterally the day i got married and didn't tick anything of my to do list...everyone told me its going to be tough... Its far from ruined my life, its been the best experience of my life...i would rather be with my little angel than on any holiday.... Sleepless nights depends on the child....i had only 2months pf sleepness nights, she has been sleeping through ever since, yes i had to be be strong and i've had to let her cry it out abit, but that lasted three days and she has settled....8pm-7am straight at seven months....everyone is so shocked at what i have managed to doon my own.... I'd say just take no notice, definitely prepare yourself because it is life changing but you only make it as difficult as you want it to be....you do go through stages when its difficult but who doesn't, we do that as adults too. All the best hun Xx

Hiya Ladies, I'm with you all on this too... I had my little girl 7 months ago was adamant on breastfeeding for two reasons, 1. because its meant to be the best thing for her and 3. you're meant to be burning 300-500kals each time, how could I say no... I still have atleast 10kg to lose and its very depressing now, I don't go out or do anything as I am not comfortable in my own skin. So now I am adamant to lose it all, atleast within the next 5 months, as thats when we're heading back to London to see the family and I wouldn't want any cheeky remarks from anyone. I downloaded an app by Jullian Michales, she has a few circuits you could do at home, I've been told theres a really good one on you tube too...its easy as I have a child too (Think i've only done it once though :() I go for a 3km walk in the morning (Track on the palm is great), I have also started to have dinners early, by 6 o'clock, my husband comes back from work at 7 or 8 and I leave my daughter with him and head to the gym downstairs...I'm there for an hour tops and it seems to be helping. I lost 1kg very quickly, but then came my hubbys b'day week...plan ruined...need to start up again. Would be great to have a buddy though :)

Not all babies are the same, some babies can adjust and are comfortable alone and some babies need the constant attention...its good to show your child some tough love from time to time otherwise they will cling for ever. My little girl sometimes cries as i try and put her to bed, as soon as i lay her down in her cot, she cries for less than a min and puts herself to sleep....this is only because i left her to deal with it by herself and she now prefers to sleep herself, which makes life a whole lot easier for me and my hubby. Nothing is ever as it seems...never judge.

I'd say do it if it suits you and your baby....i did it when my little girls could hold her head up herself, she was so curious facing inward she would constantly turn her head. I must admit it did hurt my back at first but i just adjusted the straps and it was fine....over time, as she put on weight i couldn't take it whether she was facing inwards or outwards, so i stopped. Hope it goes well for you.

I really wanted to wait until i was three months pregnant as I wanted to wait until the baby was safe (less chance of a miscarriage) But i told my mum first as I felt i could do with the support as I had just moved to Dubai and didn't know anyone.....i felt that i had made a mistake because then my husband and mum felt like we should tell his parents too so they wouldn't feel bad....so i did, and maybe it was because it was the first grandchild but the phone didn't stop ringing since, then it was Skype, then the visits and then the constant, don't eat this, don't do that, just come back here.....i just wanted to enjoy being pregnant my own way....i will definitely wait next time round. It all depends on what your parents and in laws are like... Good luck

Hiya Laura, Theres lots to do here to keep and your little one entertained, coffee mornings can be a good option, I personally haven't been to one as I like to keep my little girl on a fixed routine so she sleeps through the night. Do you know where you will be staying? Theres a lovely running track on the palm, i normally go for a walk on there, theres play areas and a sandpit area for the older kids too (my girl is only 7months and still too little for that), Theres also a lovely walk along jbr or marina walk You could take your son to a sensory class where you could meet other mums, its about a 45-60 minutes class where you would sing and interact with your child, you can make mummy friends there too. If you're staying in apartments and you have a pool area, you could take your son down there, you'd be surprised how many mums you'll bump into. Just remember there are loads of people in the same boat as you, you're not alone....but you definitely have to put yourself out there to make friends here. I can't say i've had a problem with suncream, she's hardly in the sun, only if we go to the beach or the poolside. I thought i'd always be out in the sun, but we're hardly that exposed to it, what with there being AC everywhere. I'm breastfeeding too...have done so in public here too....i don't actually like to do it in public here as who always get the odd man or too staring. It was harder before she started taking solids but now i tend to feed her solids before we go out so she'll be good until i comeback home. If i do stay for longer I tend to use the breastfeeding rooms in mothercare, the toilets have a changing room that nearly always has a chair you could use or as i do most just go to my car and let her feed there, unless ofcourse if i'm out for a really long time, I take out my expressed milk. Hope it all goes well for you Good Luck XxXx

We have an Audi Q7, not experienced with three kids but it is definitely very spacious. The two seats at the back fold down, if you need them too...AC is adjustable to what ever setting the person wants it (So I normally have it on lo at the front for me but on about 20 for my little one at the back)...The doors open as long as the key is in your bag, it will also stat this way...which is a great help as I can't always have it to hand and the boot closes with a button...Like I said, I don't have three kids but I think this would be great :)

Hiya Ladies, So sorry for the late response, been running after my husband believe it or not. Thank you so much for your advise and tips, I thought i was the only person going through this in Dubai. I am losing the weight very very slowly....lost another one kg...woohooo lol Its so hard to diet and exercise whilst breastfeeding as I feel constantly hungry (no one ever told me I would feel like this lol) but I do try and do what I can. I got for a walk on the running track that has been built on the palm every day (3km) and now I will try and head to our gym when my husband get back from work. Where do you go for a walk angel joy? I will definitely not stop breastfeeding, want to do it until my daughter is one. I have introduced solids, she eats three time a day now and I'm hoping I can control my diet more now. xxx

Hiya Ladies, My little girl has just turned seven months and I am still breast feeding...I will definitely continue until shes one. I was told that it was an excellent way of losing the baby weight but I'm still yet to shed 11kg :( I did some research and realised that we can still hold loads of water will feeding and some women don't lose the weight until they actually stop feeding. After reading this i was very tempted to stop, but I felt selfish and decided to continue and put my weight loss on hold as I was producing more than enough to provide for her. Has anyone else experienced this at all? Any tips? Thank you xxx

Hi Ladies, Hope you're all doing well, Sorry I haven't been in touch, I got myself working in a salon while I was here in London, it has really helped the time fly. The sun has come out here too and I'm finding it really difficult as the heat gets to me straight away...can't imagine how you guys must be feeling...please do take care. I had a scan two weeks ago and my baby is now head down and in position, Dr said she still may turn, I have my last scan today in a few hours so fingers crossed she still down. I am now carrying around an extra 15kg at 34 weeks and its sooo tough, I'm always tired and very moody. Heartburn is driving me up he wall and my stretch marks are stressing me out. Finding it very hard without my husband, I think i will try my best to come back the first week of Sept as I can't stand it here no more. I know it'll all be worth it in the end so I'm trying to be more positive about it all. Packing my bag today...5 weeks to go now. Plummie - Thanks for asking about my wisdom teeth, I only got one taken out as the dentists didnt want to numb me too much. It was the easiest most pain free treatment ever, had a nice big burger the day after...hope the birth of my baby is as easy :) All the best Ladies xxx

Hi Ladies, Hope you're all well, Sorry to hear you're having a hard time AmyAus82, wish you all the best and I hope you get better real soon. I had a day were I could feel the baby growing but i knew there wasn't enough room for her, I was in so much pain, really couldn't even walk. Everything seems to be going smoothly for me here in the UK, just finding it difficult without my Hubby by my side. We've had a heat wave here...really could do with air conditioning, fans just don't cut it no more. I'll be getting my wisdom teeth removed on Wednesday too ... luckily it is safe to do whilst being pregnant...only means I get to come back to Dubai sooner than I thought :) Really hope we can all meet up after our little ones arrive. would be great to see you all not long to go at all now, so excited for us all x
