Omg Wednesday! That's unreal surely. I've been in London for 25 years and have never seen such a thing -If this is trending then I know nothing about it either!

It's great that you have taught your LO to be gentle, my LO is a gentle soul too however when at play dates or play centres I would correct other children that tried to take toys from my LO -of course I would do this gently, holding the toy and saying Sienna was playing with that first and handing it back to her and its the same vice-versa, if I see my LO bee lining for a toy that is being played with I always hold the toy and take my LOs hand off it saying 'no no this baby had it first'. ..Nobody has ever complained that I shouldn't react this way, most parents would tell their child the same if they saw it happening. I think showing him that its not right to take toys off of another child is not right, even if that means telling the other child to give the toy back to your LO -once he realises its ok to stand up for him/her self, I'm sure she/he will get stuck in. ;)

We bought our Mio from Carrefore (sp) at Mall of Emirates. Was a third of the price of the garmin and is exactly the same.

We have Mio too. Very happy with it. It gives you lane assistance too which is fab and you can opt to ave a 3D view of landmarks along the route. I think it's fab. Also, the maps for the Garmin and the Mio are provided by the same company. :) HTH

I agree with BrownEyed girl.. I used to have my little girl ride up front with me in the UK because we could turn the airbag off. I haven't looked at the airbags in the car I have now, so my little one is in the back, but if a mother is happy to have her child up front, the airbag is inactive, and the child is properly secured in a child seat I can't see why anyone else should question her.

The maids current employer is willing to let her go in March as the employer will be going home to the UK. Really I just wondered if its better to transfer for now and get a new visa when this one expires or, just get her a new visa now. I don't want to have to pay a load now and then have to play a load in June when I could just pay once to start a new visa. Does this make sense?

Hi Kates01... I had lasek in the summer. I think it took about 10days for the pain do die down, then another week or so for the gritty feeling to start to subside, and then it took a further 10days for the cloudiness to go. It's a much longer recovery process, but as someone already said, it has been totally worth it!

I got my 1yr olds ears pierced at Kyra in the Gold and Diamond park too. EXPENSIVE though, stud earrings and piercing cost around 450dhs altogether. Much cheaper back home in the UK.

Other than her lie-ins my LO does not dictate what we do or where we go, so I'm not sure about all this "who's in charge" business. I've always been a firm believer in 'a sleeping baby is a happy baby" so I don't really want to wake her either .. I wasn't complaining about my DD's sleeping habits more than I was just wanting to know what afternoon activities are available. I'm happy for her to lay in if that's what she wants, after all, she is only 9 months old.

Thanks for your feedback pilots princess .. Coming from London, this 'morning-centric' thing is going to be a change and something that I will have to tackle with DD.

She was in bed by 8 last night, she just likes her sleep, she doesnt tend to nap long in the day (which i have encouraged) so i think by the evening shes all burned out and like a long 12-14hrs sleep! (sometimes more!) -- I used to think i was lucky to have such a lie in when she was younger but nowadays my clawing the walls to get up and at it buy 9am!
