If you want to work for us :-) We just feel that our maid looks after our home and the most precious thing in the world to us, she should be treated with the respect that she deserves and we treat her like a sibling as we are honoured to have such a wonderful person in our home helping us

I didnt say it was healthy but the Dr didnt have an issue with it as a lot of it was just fluid. There is no "normal" as we are all different. I ballooned immediately and had weekly scans checking for multiple babies as I got so big. Again, Drs said it just happens. I am not fat, I have never been fat, I just got very heavy pregnant.

We dont use the maids room in our villa for the maid, she has one of the bedrooms upstairs with us. She has a nice double bed, 2 double wardrobes, chest of drawers, Tv unit, Tv, DVD player, Evision, laptop, blackberry and we also bought her a hair dryer. She uses all our stuff in the kitchen but tends to go out on her day off anyway and if she has friends over they just hang out in the garden or in her room Just ask and see what she would prefer

Location not the best as it backs onto a school kind of but it is compound, 4 bed and large. Was 165k but dont know the agent, might be worth driving over there

Sal is right, fill in the application online and take it. Takes 2 days Also, they changed the law. As a foreigner, you can only take a really small amount of Rupees into the Country now so do not buy your currency before you go Stupid but there you have it

Im not sure if it is single story. I dont think so but it is hard to tell, tried to see this morning Look on Dubizzle and ring EVERYONE that is advertising. It is a shockingly bad system and then you get bent over for the 5% when we do all the hard work. there are some on Umm Al Sheif for rent but I find them small. They are on the right if you are heading towards the beach pretty near the end Also, just drive around and see which have signs up. Our original budget was 150k but what we saw for that was rubbish,

I love my Santa Fe. I test drove everything. BMW, Merc, Ford Edge, Audi, Range Rover and by far the most spacious and easy to drive for me was the Santa Fe. Bought it new in January and have no issues at all. Its pretty good with petrol, it has a fab reversing camera, heated (and cooling) seats, 7 seats, AC in the far back which is great if people are in the far back or the dogs, or just all the shopping. I love it

It's all very well saying don't go to the Municipality but it's very hard to find homes (foster or permanent) for kittens and cats. We've now got 6 cats/kittens living in our garden. I've spend a lot on vet bills and having them neutered and tried to find homes for them but nobody wants them:-( I am feeding them because otherwise they would starve but I worry what will happen to them if we ever move. I feel a huge responsibility for all these little lives and I didn't even set out to have a cat. So please don't be so hard on the OP as she specifically said she intended them no harm and wants to find a humane solution. *like*

If you are happy with them in your garden for a few days, put them on Dubizzle for adoption with pictures. If not, and nobody else can help you then call the Department of Health and Safety at the Dubai Municipality

I was huge when I was pregnant. I had scans every week for 15 weeks to make sure I was only carrying one baby. Then they tolf me my baby was over 3kg at 30 weeks. My baby was born on her due date, 40 weeks exactly weighing 3.21KG they get the weight so wrong sometimes, its best guess IMO

We collect and sell stuff to raise money for Nayee Asha ( www.facebook.com/nayeeasha) We desperately need kids shoes, socks, hats, coats etc for winter. It gets so cold in India in the winter months. there are over 200 kids there so anything anyone can donate either goes straight to the kids or is sold to raise money to buy things they need

I have used Louise in the UK and then I found out she moved over here. She did everyone's cuts, colours, wedding hair etc in the area where she owned a salon. She was manager at JBR branch and has just moved over to Ibn Battuta now There is another Louise who work in hairworks and is excellent, I think she is in the Jumeriah branch - I have seen her work first hand and can recommend her totally. That might be the same one - she helped out in Jumeirah for a bit but short term

Interesting to see so many differing opinions! I don't have a maid I have a lifesaver that keeps my house in order allowing me to got to work and spend time with my kids afterwards. She has been given access to all the things we take for granted including TV with a cable package relevant to her dialog, Internet access and recently a tablet allowing her to Skype from the privacy of her room in the evenings or at weekends. I've even helped her download some music to play whilst she works hard in the house all day. I've never had to speak to her about not completing work, in fact she does much more than the tasks I originally gave her the responsibility of! It's not always a case of give someone an inch and they'll take a mile....... Sometimes you have to give in order to gain! I totally agree with your post. if it wasnt for our maid, I dont know where we would be. I buy her gifts, I take her with me for a massage sometimes for a treat etc. It is thanks to her that our lives are better so the least I can do is show her some kindness and be grateful, not begrudge wifi in the house which I already pay for anyway

Im not sure a partial number plate counts as someone's personal details seeing as there is nobody to link the number plate too. My number plate is out there for the whole world to see! I could post my neighbours number plate here and none of you would have a clue who he is, where he lives, what he looks like or anything else reltaing to him. You dont even know the car. You may be able to find out the make and model of it but thats not personal either

Wow, you guys are a bit mean. OP was trying to find the lady to sort it out nicely without involving the police and making the driver's insurance premiums increase over a minor incident. I think it is a thoughtful gesture! As for posting the number plate, perhaps sheshould have just poted "can the owner of car xxxxx please make themselves known" and let it at that. Then you wouldnt have anything to be horrible to her about

Our maid has Wifi and a laptop. We gave her a blackberry and she can keep in touch with her family whenever she pleases. As long as the work is done then I dont have any issues with how long she spends on her phone. She also take pictures of the babies and sends them to me when I am in the office which is lovely!

I moved back to the UK - I lasted 2 weeks before having a breakdown, leaving my new job, packing my bag and returning to Dubai. I am ready to leave Dubai and I have been for some years but the reality is, there is nowhere that I feel we can go that would provide all the positives we get living here. I miss people that are in the UK, but at the end of the day, it is not enough to drg me back to the misery of life in the UK
