Help I am in dire need of a hair do, colour, treatment the lot, my hair has decided to go nearly blonde in a week of arriving here lol and no matter wearing hat, conditioner etc I cant do a thing with it. How much is it for colour, cut and blow dry etc here in Dubai? And had a look at your beauty section and found im not far from hairworks in JBR, does anyone have any tips or recommendations for salons to choose??

Hi ya.......... i am another "over 21" hoping to join you all in Dubai in the next few months my main concern about apartments is the noise level? i am at present in my detached house in Uk but hoping to be in Dubai around July. We have been looking constantly at villas and apartments but not quite sure what to pick. Was a bit alarmed at one post recently about pool parties etc in apartment blocks? Any advice ladies?

Congratulations! Make sure you do your sums first though as Dubai is not necessarily the financial haven you might think. Where to live probably depends on what kind of lifestyle you have/want. Here are my thoughts on places relatively close to Jebel Ali: Green Community - big family enclave. Beautiful villas with cobbled roads, lots of kids riding around whenever I've been there. Someone else might be able to add more detail to this. Marina - some great apartments with views to water or desert or sometimes both. Close to restaurants and a lovely cobbled walk right around the marina area for fitness enthusiasts with cafe stops along the way. Jumeirah Beach Residence - apartments again along the foreshore just south of the Palm. Lots of cafes, restaurants, bars and a walk across the road to the beach. Can get noisy with hoons on weekends and crowded on holidays. Lakes, Meadows, Springs - more space if that's what you want. Meadows has independant villas, Springs has semi detached townhouses all meandering through established greenery, bike tracks and lakes. 3 bedroom villas available if you have your kids or friends visiting often. High family presence but also many without kids. Community pools set up semi-resort style and 2 golf clubs close by. Local general stores often just a walk away (though probably too hot in summer). Hope this helps. Feel free to keep the questions coming.
