It is a mandatory contract approved by the KHDA which details both school and parents rights and shows your individual school fees. This is a KHDA thing not a school thing

As per KHDA guidelines this reason is an 'exceptional circumstance' and no prior notice is needed. They have to give you your money back or go to the KHDA directly and lodge a complaint. They are very good at following up on these things.

I can reassure parents that Safa Community School is 27 days AHEAD of schedule at the moment and there's an awful lot on the inside of the buildings that you can't see from the road. We open on the 7th September and have an Open Day for new students on the 4th September. There are still places available from FS1 to Year 4 and Year 7 & 8.

Rashid Hospital A& E is the only free part of the hospital. All road accidents and trauma cases go there and until the need arises for an operation, the services of A & E are free. We are British and my husband broke his back in 4 places 3 years ago. Luckily he is fine now after a huge operation to place metal pins and rods being placed in his back which he will live with forever. The trauma team were mostly expat and were fantastic. He spent one week on the trauma ward afterwards and overall was looked after very well. It was very clean and the food was ok (like any hospital food). His after care check ups have been well organised and he has seen his surgeon every time, who is Eastern European. Because he had an op the cost for a 4 hour op with a spinal emergency team and one week's stay cost 12,000 Dhs! Nothing compared to the rest of Dubai or private care in the UK. If we had another emergency I wouldn't hesitate to go there again.

My daughter attends in Y10 and all is running as normal. We would have to be given 2 years notice of closure (standard for a Secondary) and so far we have only been assured that all is well going forward. I can't speak for the staff, some are good, some not so good. Like all schools. They need to get a new Head but that's another issue. Mr Forbes, who left, will be a hard man to follow!

The school has been assured by the Developer that it will be ready! If the absolute worst happened we will accommodate for a very short time in Safa School which is not yet full to capacity. We don't expect to open Safa Community School at full capacity by any means.

Hi I am a staff member of Safa School and will be moving to the new campus in September myself. The foundations are already in and the building contractor is a huge developer in Dubai who built the Souk Madinat and the Al Qasr Hotel for starters. The building will be completed or the contractor incurs a large fine if delayed so we are confident it will be ready. As much manpower as is needed to finish the project will be thrown at it from the construction company's point of view. Phase 1 is the Primary FS1 to Year 6 and Phase 2 will be the Secondary School, opening in 2015 for Year 7, 8 & 9 initially and growing to Year 13 over time. Safa School in Meydan Road will also feed into the Secondary School. The foundations of the primary are already in you just can't see them from the road due to the fencing! C Compared to alot of new schools coming up and recently opened, our Safa Community School fees are very reasonable. 'Old' Safa School's fees are cheaper due to the structure being a 10 year old fee structure with percentage increases only over the 10 years. Any new school would not be as cheap as this obviously. Hope this clarifies a few things mentioned here

And the finish for the 10K was a complete farce. Made to stand and watch the 25 mile Marathon runners finish and then allowed through the barrier about 40 mins after you actually finished! What was the point of the timer chip in your number if you are not allowed to finish at the real time! My friends and I were really disappointed by this along with many others. That was before the medal fiasco!!

There will also be a medical fee of 1,500 Dhs per annum. You can see all of the details of the school on the safaschooldubai.com website, click on the useful link at the bottom called Safa Community School. All the detail of the new school are on there including the admission process and application form. Assessments are being held at the Meydan Road school for now and the admin team are based there too. edited by Mustang172 on 01/02/2014

Hi there My friend, who is works full-time, had a stray cat give birth in her garage last night who then promptly disappeared and hasn't returned. She has been up all night, actually slept with it in her bed!! to keep it warm, and has been syringe feeding camel milk to the poor little thing. The vet suggested this to her as they couldn't help. My appeal is, on her behalf, for anyone with knowledge of fostering kittens, to ask if someone can help take over this mammoth task as she cannot physically manage to do this as she is working (she brought it in to our workplace today in desperation as the feeds are so frequent). So far the kitten is doing well but how long for who knows :( Please email me on sallyrycroft172 at gmail.com if you can help, thanks in advance, here's hoping! HELP!!

As the email states: If you [u'>do not [/u'>respond to our email by the deadline date to let us know you no longer want to continue with the place (which some people have) then we will have the right to keep the 2000 dhs. Most people are coming in to pay, some have withdrawn as we were obviously not their first choice and they don't want to commit. This is what the email was about, commit so we know that you're coming or withdraw and we'll give you your 2000 dhs back no questions asked!

All schools are now ( due to new Government rulings) allowed to ask for up to 30 percent of annual school fees in advance, non refundable. Safa, before this new ruling, did as per the law and asked for a 2000 dhs refundable deposit which from the schools perspective doesn't commit the parent in any way to coming in Sept. Some are waiting for their other choice of school and stop genuine parents who are on the waitlist getting a secure place. So we are now, as per the law, asking those who have paid 2000 dhs to pay 1500 dhs non refundable extra now to confirm their place. This is off-set against the school fees in term 3. The 2000 dhs, once the child starts becomes a fully refundable deposit again which is paid back when they leave the school ( with a terms notice). If parents havent received an email about this they should immediTely contact the school by email or phone ( the phones are very busy though) as the email addresses used were from original applications which are sometimes very hard to decipher due to handwriting! Contact receptionist@ safaschooldubai.com to confirm email address if you havent received the 1500 dhs email and dont worry as even though the deadline to pay has passed, if you didnt get the email thats not your fault.
