I have some Apple shares. Shall I sell them now or in December? Same scenario. It's not that easy to predict if prices will go up or down. I don't think anybody is willing to stick their neck out in regards to this.

The sad thing is that the article will give a lot of men "valid reasons" to ridicule and not trust women with high-end positions. It's hard as it is in this region to get a proper job as a woman without speeches like that. Menstruation has not stopped a lot of great women out there to achieve and succeed in the men's world.

I considered every option and dubai marina won hands down thanks to the walks and apparent dog friendly environment. How are concrete footpaths dog friendly? Sorry but there is no where in the Marina or an apartment for a dog to run. edited by IzzyOnTheSeat on 20/08/2014 Anywhere where dogs can have a long walk, where they can have a good sniff around, see people, other dogs etc is ideal for dog walking. And the marina walk was supposed to be 'dog friendly' which is why they provide dog waste bins etc. There isn't really anywhere in Dubai for the dogs to have a [b'>good run as they are supposed to be kept on a leash here[/b'>, that's why we take ours to the desert so they can have a good run. I appreciate your opinion but to be fair, we are already here and we are looking for solutions to the problem so your comments are not really helpful. which is why apartments are not really suitable.... and this is a public forum and this is my opinion; you dont have to agree with it but i am free to express it on any post that i choose. and my opinion is that the marina is not a suitable place for walking dogs, especailly in the summer. Which is why we live in a villa. Definition of villas seem to differ. My understanding of a villa is a detached house with a garden around it.

You will have construction noise at some of the Shorelines too. If you have a look at Wikimapia you will see the the tree big construction sites beside number 1, 6, 7 and 10. There have been reports of all sorts of issues within the Shorelines such as leaks and general construction issues. The living span of some buildings here in Dubai seem to get worse the closer they get to ten years or above. There is also a massive building site on full swing in the middle of both sides of Marina Residences. Nakheel is building a shopping centre and a 50 storey hotel there. It could be nice once it's finished in a few years time but you would not want to live right beside it during construction. I would also bare in mind the boy racers at night time. Some might not be bothered by the sound of revving engines but it could be annoying. edited by N0rdique on 19/08/2014

No word of a lie, my wife's visa application was rejected 3 times because they didn't/couldn't believe that we were married. Even with an attested UAE marriage certificate. They finally only approved it when I went to the Immigration and proved that yes, I am white and yes, I am married to an Asian. hard to believe we are in the 21st century isn't it! If you book the same slot every week they should be able to send you the same cleaner every time. Get to know the person a bit and treat them in a friendly way. Surely you can sacrifice one or two appointments for this. I have not had anything stolen in the last couple of years but I'm staying in when the cleaner comes every week (without breathing down her neck, I'm just not comfortable with handing over keys to anybody else than close friends and family). It's probably easier to steal from somebody one doesn't know and/or not had a kind word or smile from.

Yea Sarah all are boys and my income is 20k not the salary but this is a situation where I'm stuck just cannot rent another apartment until this contract is over . [i'>For me it is really confusing yet disturbing my husband is a real estate broker and we have lived in Dubai since 2008 on and off now again I came back just shifted [/i'> so how much longer is left on the contract ? sounds like you only just moved.... It would be interesting to know the ages of the kids. Surely at least three of the kids were born before moving in to the current property. What's the point with living here and "slumming it" with squeezing in a family of six into a two bed apartment and trying to push in a maid on top of that. edited by N0rdique on 24/06/2014

What about her privacy? What about the fact that she needs a job and any job is better than no job and she wouldn't have any privacy if she went back to her home country anyways? And no one worried about my privacy when I was in the Army and bunked up with 49 other people. No one complained that my human rights were being violated ... Absolutely right I agree no boys says how some people treat them they even beat them often who so ever is talking abt the human rights don't they know last month I was reading in gulf news a maid was so badly burned her employer threw hot water she was admitted to hospital just because she didn't served her coffee don't really remember the whole story but here I'm giving her enough money to eat to sleep now if I am compromising with money can't they compromise on privacy after all they need to earn I think if u treat them on priority there demands are never going to finish they run away from there local sponser every other maid runs I bet Are you a wind-up merchant? IF you really mean what you're writing you certainly need your head checked out. So just because you don't physically abuse a maid you think you're not a slave driver?? What sort of background do YOU come from? Having three children share a room is not exactly usual, not where I come from. If your earnings are what you say they are you need to have a serious think about upgrading to something larger and forget about having a live-in maid until you have an appropriate property to accommodate your large family. I don't normally get involved in these discussions but you, m'am need to have a proper read about how to be a proper employer and according to the local law. edited by N0rdique on 24/06/2014 edited by N0rdique on 24/06/2014

BBQs are lovely - when done without danger. Google building burnings in Dubai, for your own information. Smoking on balconies, BBQs on balconies.. do not go together. If I was in your position I would forward that email to RERA and cc the Better Homes chairman, CEO and Head of Residential Sales and Leasing. Their names are on the website and I think the email address format is [email protected] You will be doing all ex-pats here a favour.

I don't understand why people who don't use them are deemed as gross I have survived for 42 years without one so it all cannot be bad It's not about using the hose it's about using some means of water to clean ones self. Toilet paper would not get rid of any nasty odours would it. Why are there so many wet wipes on the market these days??? The trick is to keep on wiping with a new paper until the wiped paper is white. Nothing left to cause a smelly bum after proper wiping. And the toilet is cleaner as the used paper has been flushed away. Wet wipes are bad for you. They are not suitable for sensitive skin and they clog up the sewage system as they don't dissolve like toilet roll paper. edited by N0rdique on 09/06/2014 How can dry tissue get rid of nasty odours ?? so, do all the people who only use the spray seriously imagine that those of us who don't are walking around with "pooey bums" (to use my youngest's phrase) ? Do you not think that we make sure the last piece of paper is spotless before we finish ? Sorry to be gross about this but there seems to be a misunderstanding.. also, most times there's barely a mark on the paper anyway - perhaps different diets make for different consistencies that require different levels of cleaning - trying not to be too graphic !! lol when you blow your nose do you have to use wet tissues ? I think perhaps they feel there is an odour left behind not a mark ( if that makes sense) No mark - No odour?

I could not care less about the thumbs up/down and I'm not collecting stars but I really do wonder the thumbs down on my OP. Was it perhaps the madam herself and her equally ignorant driver friends? I'm just glad the potentially serious accident was avoided but at the same time I wanted to bring up the unsafe driving of some people. Do people get a false sense of security when they drive massive cars? Do they think that they will escape uninjured and just mow down whatever cars that are in their way? That woman reminded me of Kathleen Turner in the film "Serial Mom" (just the behaviour, not the looks).

Sorry, I don't know of any companies here but I do recommend that you get a CCTV system that is motion operated and records clips during motion. There are programs that you log into remotely and it will be a time saver to just need to watch the clips where something potentially happened.

Not only have some pictures of our place been posted online, some of the companies have taken the pains to mention "fully furnished with good quality furniture" when the apartment came without even any white goods I thought of alerting the owner who is abroad, and then thought it would be better to mention the fact that it is not furnished directly to any viewers who come by so that those agents get embarassed. Perhaps the agents aren't aware that the apartment comes unfurnished? I would not allow any photographs where my personal belongings are visible. They have so many stock photographs anyway so let them use them or wait until the apartment is empty and fully cleaned. edited by N0rdique on 12/05/2014

They have plenty of super loyal fliers that will always fill up their seats. A few lost here and there is normal in the airline business. BA staff is 10 times more surly than EK. At least EK is better looking than the surly pensioner crew on BA. Better looking? Should that really matter? Their primary task is to look after the safety of passengers. Pensioner crew? You'll just have to suck it up. You put yourself in this situation by talking about your wedding to people you perhaps should not have mentioned it to and went even further by giving the website address and giving her the ok. If somebody has already booked and most likely paid for flights and hotels it's extremely rude to uninvite [b'>one week [/b'>before. Try to think it from the girl's point of view. If you can't then you have turned into a horrific bridezilla. Sorry.

Assalamualaikum http://www.expatwoman.com/forum/topic221715-suggestions-please---od-ladies-clubs.aspx May you all find peace within you. Much love. Yes, that link is one of the prime examples of a chatboard. If I was the OP on that thread I would have been annoyed with some of the replies that were just meaningless comments that had nothing to do with the OP's original question. I posted my comment on the "I think I have just made a BIG mistake" thread as it appeared it was just created as a stirrer and there wasn't a deleted OP on it, was there? Since the stars and ratings were added the forum has for some posters turned into a star hunt with a lot of annoying filler posts. Perhaps my post was slightly harshly worded but I still stand by it. I quite agree with LadyBee's post below. As somebody else below said, we all are entitled to our opinions. I feel sorry for some poster's employers. Isn't work meant to be spent on working rather than hours and hours on chat forums? Oh, and I remember the stomping meat thread too. THAT was funny :-) We need more of those... edited by N0rdique on 17/04/2014

Apologies for bringing up this slightly older thread. I've now tried Biorganic shop and it appears to have teething problems. The selection is very small compared to the Organic Store on SZR and some items are repeated on shelves in different sections to make the selection look bigger. The Biorganic cafe was a poor copy with smaller portions and the omelette was very greasy. Unless they improve and add more products I don't think it's worth it going back. Greenheart has a better selection of local organic vegetables.
