Dr. Elsa delivered both my kids. I highly recommend her. She is very pro natural birth. See If you can work out your insurance issues, much ahead of your due date. I did and everything went well for me.

I'm a horror story one too. Had a "permanent" period with cramps when it was in. Also, if you have any history of depression or mood problems STAY AWAY. The mirena coil can compound such symptoms. Was so happy that the doctor took it out, I was better almost immediately.....and unfortunately pregnant shortly after.....I had a tubal ligation when my "bonus surprise" baby was born. Heyjude, can you pls tell me about tubal ligation. How do you feel post this procedure and has it lead to any side effects or weight gain ?

Hi Ladies, I am considering getting Tubal Ligation done back in my home country(as it is not allowed in UAE). I am 31 yrs old and we have two wonderful kids, aged 5 and 1. Hubby and I have decided that we want no more and hence, I am considering permanent contraception as I am not good with hormonal contraceptions. I would like to hear from ladies who have already been sterilized about the changes they have experienced post the procedure. Are there any side effects like cramps, loss of sexual desire, irritability, heavy menstrual cycles or most importantly, weight gain ? My OB-GYN says there is no link between weight gain and TL , but some online reviews of women post the procedure swear by it. I am confused. Pls share your views.

Hello there, I highly recommend specialist OB/GYN Dr.Elsa De Menezes. She runs her own clinic called Elsa Concept Clinic in DHCC. You can make an appointment by calling her clinic at 04 554 7273. Usually, she is overbooked, but, if you tell them about the urgency of your case, they might try to accomodate. Hope this helps !

I highly recommend Dr.Elsa, who was previously with Mediclinic city hospital. Now, she runs her own clinic in health care city and delivers at city hospital. She is very pro natural birth. I delivered my first with her and i am back to her due to deliver my second in 2 weeks.

Hi there, The fees depends on the no. of days you wish to send your child in a week as well as school day options. My son goes half day(8am - 1pm) for 4 days/week. it costs 26,800 aed for the yr (2680/month * 10 months). They are very prompt in answering the telephone. You can try again on 04 4201102.

On another note, are you also looking to live close to healthcare city? I live in Oud Metha, which is 2 mins from healthcare city. I live in a 2 BR apt in Oud Metha behind Movenpick Hotel. I'm shifting to another apartment and looking for another tenant for this apartment. The apartment will be available in the first week of July. Pls let me know if you would be interested.

Hi, Dess is in an area called Oud Metha. There are some residential buildings in this area, the school would be 5 mins away and the airport is 10 mins away. You also have Dubai healthcare city closeby as another option. You can check out the distance between the places on Google maps to help you get a better picture. Hope this helps :)

Hi Sarahlou, Thanks! I did see their website earlier but just wanted to confirm with parents. Don't you think 7.45 am to 2.15pm is a bit too long for reception years ??? whilst, most other schools end by 12.30 pm. Hence, was wondering what is the day's schedule like since its a very long day for 4-5 yr olds !!

A friend of mine got a seat for her daughter in FS2 and when she went to confirm/accept the offer , she was told by the class teacher that the children will be put in different sections according to their nationalities !! she immediately decided against admitting her daughter there and luckily got through Dubai British School and is very happy there. Anyone else noticed this nationality divide in GWPS ??

@ Tiptoptoni - My child goes to Kinderville canadian nursery which is a feeder to Raffles. However, when I spoke to Raffles last week, they said kinderville is the last priority and offer no guaranteed seat, which is why I started panicking in the first place. Kinderville is in contact with Raffles regarding this matter and will get back to me as the nursery has promised a guaranteed seat in Raffles. There seems to be some confusion internally which is being sorted out. @plum2 - Yes, I have already applied in DESS for FS2 in sep 16 and waiting for others to open admissions.

Many thanks for your reply, plum2 and Tiptoptoni. As plum2 says, FS1 is play based so, I guess its fine if I continue him in the current nursery(I dont have a choice anyway!). My worry is just like that of Tiptoptoni , what if my son doesnt get admission anywhere in FS2? Most schools like DESS have clearly indicated that they will not consider children who have done FS2 in a nursey for admission in their school because the children will not be able to cope with the grade 1 syllabus. Is it really that difficult for children ? I dont want to burden my little one. please share your thoughts! It really helps.

Dr.Elsa is the best !!! I dont know about Dr.George but Elsa was my Gyn who delivered my baby in march this yr. I was mighty close to a C-section but Elsa made her best efforts to deliver naturally and so I had a natural birth. She is amazing and also predicted that I would deliver my baby just before sunset the day I was scheduled to deliver ... It turned out to be perfectly true ... I was admitted at 10 am and delivered at 5.30 pm !!!

NAAZ just a quick question, do u have to purchase a health card for the entire family or can u just get one for the babies for vaccination purposes alone? No. the card is just for the baby ... I made my baby's card at Latifa hospital ... u require 1 baby's photograph, baby's passport copy and the residence visa page, tenancy contract or dewa bill statement and 110 aed .... thats all !!!

I delivered at the city around 3 months back with Dr. Elsa ( from the UK) .... she is simply the best .... I was mighty close to a C-section ... she made natural birth possible !!! The doctor is brilliant and the midwives at the labour ward are very caring and helping ... my midwife even massaged my back to bring some relief to my excruciating back pain during labor .... Completely love them all ... would def go back to Dr. Elsa and the city hospital.

Thank you ladies for your invaluable help . @ SweetLily and Ilovewine - My LC at the hospital was a great help but am still struggling with my baby for the latching. I will def consider calling LC home as you suggested .... thank you so much for all the details. Truly appreciate it! When I remove the nipple shield inbetween the feed and give my breast, baby starts sucking my nipple instead of the areola.... gets irritated and leaves my breast.I guess I need to spend more time and have more patience with the latching on.

Hi Ladies, My baby is 1.5 months old and he is addicted to nipple shield. I am using the nipple shield from day 1 since I have flat nipples. Hoping to get him to learn to latch on , but he totally rejects my breasts without the nipple shield. Also, he now wants to keep my nipple in his mouth and sleep throughout the night. When I withdraw my breast from his mouth when he falls asleep after feeding, he wakes up in a couple of mins and is searching for the nipple again. He becomes very fussy and cries till I have to give up and give my nipple in his mouth again. Mums with such experiences please share some valuable suggestions and tips on how to get my baby rid of the nipple shield on the whole. cheers, Naazdxb

Hi All, I understand from most reviews that Dr. Elsa has performed more C-section births than natural births. Or am I wrong ??? Because I really want a natural birth ... I already feel scared of C-section !

Thnx a ton for ur inputs, people !!! Can anyone please share with me the actual cost that was incurred for ur delivery at the city hospital - normal / C-section ??? I know that the city hospital has maternity packages - normal delivery starts at 11,000 Aed and C-section starts at 22,000 Aed ... I have an insurance card that covers only 80% of the total cost and I will have to bear the remaining 20% .... so it works out a little expensive for me inspite of my insurance cover given the fact that city hospital is quite expensive. So, ladies who have delivered there, please let me know that total cost of the delivery ... it will helpful for me and my husband to plan financially.

Thanks, Nix and Sparkly. My appointment with Dr.Elsa was booked 3 months back when I was planning to get my tests done for not being able to conceive. Coincidentally, just 3 days before the appointment date, I got to know that I am pregnant !!! It all seemed like God's plan for me :)

Hi All, I am extremely happy to tell you that am pregnant with my first child which I found out only last week. I consulted Dr. Elsa at the city hospital and after scan she said that I am 6 weeks pregnant. She seemed to be a good doctor. However, since this is my first pregnancy, I would like to know your experiences with Dr.Elsa - good or bad, if any. Does she specialize in C - section deliveries only? Your inputs in this regard will be of great help to me. Also, has anyone heard of Dr. Insaf (Egyptian) at the Belhoul speciality hospital at Hor Al Ans ? Any inputs on her or the hospital ? Regards, Naaz
