Hi everyone, I feel it's important to leave a balanced review.... So here goes. My experience with Dr.Mathias was terrible. I had a ovary surgery booked at Dubai London clinic and mentioned to my gynaecologist that I suspected I had hemorroids. She sent me to see Dr.Mathias who after a very quick physical exam told me that yes there was a hemorroid and that a very simple procedure and I would recover super quickly, it was nothing to worry about and very routine. How wrong he was.... Dr, Mathias is a general surgeon, not a specialised Proctologist. A professional doctor would have ordered a colonoscopy before even considering surgery. Surgery is a last resort. To cut a very long story short, I ended up having corrective surgery and 2 other specialists were shocked to learn that Dr.Mathias had performed the surgery in the first place. From telling them my systptoms they suspect I had grade 1 or 2 haemorrhoids and you don't perform surgery until grade 4. I truly believe I was just an easy number for him to hit his commissions that month. Nice guy or not, this is NOT the doctor you want cutting you up. See a specialist.

Ladies - I finally found a insurance company! After countless phone call to insurance companies and brokers, the plan I found is Daman Essential Benefits Plan which cost 750AED per year. Its made for low income workers earning up to 4k/month.

Hi - Any update on this? I would like to get my maid insurance, but the cheapest I can find is AXA insurance at 3,800. I only want basic hospital cover in case she hurts herself seriously and I am happy to pay cash for consultations at private clinics for small sickness. Any suggestions ladies?

Just came by this thread randomly, but really glad I did. @Naunm thanks for linking to the YouTube video of Johnson's Baby Grandparents Frame. I watched it like 10 times and it made me cry every single time. Living as an expat abroad, I truly know the feeling of missing my family back home. I think that Johnson's Baby really made a great contribution with their grandparents app where they help bringing families closer.

Hi Ladies - I was recommended a company called Buddies Auto Service. I have been going to AAA garage in Al quoz for years. I needed to get a service & 4 new brake discs and pads for my mercedes ML500. AAA garage quoted me 7000 (inc service). I rang Rami at Buddies at he only charged me 5500! Best part they came to my house and picked up the car and dropped it off! Really nice guy too, there was no talking down to me cause I know nothing about cars. Big thumbs up from me!! Hi All - @Klijn - My DH HR Dept took care of the costs, so embarassed to say I wouldnt have a clue on pricing. I know they only do full time, not part time @Om el banat - We had to sponsor, although Kaizen had a pro service we used to assist us with the sponsorship process. Suprisingly (especially for Dubai) it was quite a simple process and they took care of all the hard work. I hope this helps and cant recommend Richard enough. I hear so many horrible stories from friends about trying to find maids and didnt experience any of that. Good luck!

Hi CK1 - My DH and I just used a company called Kaizen People (kaizenpeople.ae). Lovely South African guy called Richard who runs it and he was very helpful listening to our needs and finding us the perfect maid! I had mine done very recently at cocoona for a fraction of the price and am very happy with the results so far and the follow up very professional i just wish i had had the courage to have done it a long time ago, however i did a lot of research on the surgeons/ procedures and most of all visited the facilities at the hospitals where the surgery takes place. Make sure you have help at home for the first weeks as it does drain you it did me. Best of luck. Where did you have it done? 'Cocoona' - where is that? Tx. Did you change a lot in size? Did they reposition the n*pple? Sorry for the questions - just trying to get a good idea of the whole procedure / cost / body change etc. Tx. ;)
