I used to live in JVT when i delivered my DD in City Hospital. I loved the hospital and he whole experience, the midwives were amazing and the nurses were really nice and helpful.; For me, the distance was not a problem, I knew I would not deliver in the car, it would take more time. :-) LooOL yaa I hope will not deliver in a Sunday Morning Traffic rush! edited by Nana1234 on 20/01/2013

Saudi German was also near me so we considered it but it was awful. Unless it were an emergency and I couldn't travel far I would definitely not deliver there. Medcare is where I delivered. Dr Shiva is not very informative and most of her answers are yes or no or if you like BUT she is a fantastic surgeon and she is polite. I healed from my c-section scar so quickly and its such a neat low scar. When my anesthesia wore off mid c-section she took control of the situation instantly and noticed even before the anesthetist. The nurses were of a very low standard IMO but then I cant imagine anywhere in Dubai the nurses being upto the standard of the midwives back in UK. I had an appointment with the anesthetist a few days before my c-section who explained everything to me as there were a few choices when it comes to the epi so I felt well informed. City DS stayed in after he was born because he was really un well in the start of his life. I dont know about the maternity suite but I can comment on pediatrics. Very small rooms, nurse were slightly better than Medcare but not hugely and the place is very far from us. Now that we have insurance that covers all the Dubai hospitals I have a feeling I will end up in Medcare again. Its close-by, the c-section went very well and with the second I'll be clear in my birth plan that I want limited interference of the nurses. Usually with your second/third etc they just leave you to it. did you take the epidural on the c-section or they use different methods couse I'm planning to have it but bit afraid of the later effects as back-pain

1. SG.... I've been to emergency only, and they've always been lovely. The OBGYN and the paediatrician that I met were very sweet, but I don't know anyone that's delivered there. Maybe go and see them and see what you think. 2 MJ.... A lot of friends delivered there and liked Dr Luthra. I didn't jell with her and my DH who's really chilled got annoyed at the nurse for various reasons, so we never went back. 3 CH... I really liked my birth experience there. Although they've been having problems with the insurance companies so check on that before you decide. Hi thank you so far it's either MJ or CH ya I get a note regarding the insurance and CH but I think it should be solved soon Hopefully !

Nana, Have you spoken to your sons teacher?, who has mentioned that they want to expel him? Can you speak to the principal, or do they have an Achievement centre in the school, or someone you can talk to about his behaviour? What are the school suggesting you do? I didn't put my son in school until KG2, and it took him a good 3 months to really settle into a school environment. At first he was in the cupboards wanting to play with the toys, and he wouldn't stop talking in class. After about 3 months he settled down and by the end of the year he had reached all the targets and had a very good school report. Now he is in Grade 1 and doing fine. Amys advice is really good, if you do have time with your child in a morning take a look at these BrainGym exercises, and see if you can fit any of them in for perhaps 10 mins before school. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VL4an7UC3wA http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WpSBTVFgK0Y I like this one although it's 33 mins http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=chswcigW_nQ edited by Alismum on 28/10/2012 we talked to the school and informed them with all the taken steps but to be honest the progress is slow but will keep working to get there .. Thank you very much I have looked at the videos and will be implementing..

ok it's seems that due to several factors within our environment,,Single Child in the house, a bit extra care from us , not having a lot of kids around to play in addition to his personality he got issues in below areas: 1- Leaking Social Skills to interact with kids within his age group 2- Seeking attentions since he got a leader personality and he is used to be the start of the house and not having the same within the classroom 3- and requirement of consistent discipline that mean if he make a mistake he should not getaway with no matter how cute he tries to look or other family condition were.. actions to be taking: 1- we are introducing Social Skills to him in videos and stories 2- arrange supervised play date with me around to resolve any conflict and a guide him to the required behavior 3- when mistake is done a timeout time and some other parenting techniques which we are still practicing .. BTW he is ADHD free.. also I notice that there is a big lake of social skills martial out there I mean for 5 years old there is plenty for teens though ..

Just to let you know after a long Discussion with my child and dig deep down to know the real reasons why he is doing all this ! it's simply because he think it FUNNY!! and that for him being the trouble maker and the clown of the class he will be getting everyone smiles and attention! we are working to fix this however we still struggling with the school to give him a chance ...
