Hello, cheap ones at Daiso (Japanese discount store) in Mushrif mall or more pricey ones at ACE hardware. I've used both and both ok. ..only thing is where ever you going you'd need a vacuum cleaner at the other end :) Hope this helps :)

Yes Busybee2 is right, there is a resto called Butafish. Have tried it in Dxb - very good. The one is KCA: a few of my friends have got food from there and said it is very good too. If you want shwarmas and kebabs I think the small Jabal Al Noor also at pink shops serve those. They have good Indian curries too if you fancy. Hope this helps edited by Nedi on 09/05/2013

Thank you for tips on where to get the cabinet and files. I forgot to mention I bought the file inserts at the jarir books store too. Good prices there. :)

Check with Organics food and cafe for orders online and delivery. Though you might not want your monthly shop from them as it could be pricey, but worth it for the pastas, rice, pulses and other organic & biodynamic products like eggs, chicken, beef, duck, etc. edited by Nedi on 26/04/2013

Thanks Beany. Ikea in true form have their own special size file inserts, so you have to buy it from them to fit their cabinets. Will check at Mina - perhaps I'll be lucky and find a standard cabinet & hanging file inserts there.

Hi ladies, I am looking for a metal filing cabinet. Just been to Ikea they have the cabinet but hanging file inserts out of stock and no idea when they will get them again... Can anyone recommend where I can find one, not too expensive (i.e. not more than 500dhs)? Thank you :)

Hi, we have used the SEHA clinic at Between the Bridges (near Shangri La Souq Q A Beri) for our little ones vaccinations. The nurses there were professional and the doctors fine. It is fine to give calpol or baby nurofen. Here they prescibe Adol, which is fine too. All the best

The Facebook Al Reef group was set up and run by a Pink person, could be wrong ... Try asking the developer to assist you finding a tenant. Alternatively place a free ad on Dubizzle. I know of a few people who have been able to lease their property this way. I will ask some newcomers into AD if they could be interested to lease ;)

I have lived in both Khalifa A and B and to be quite frank, the driving in the mornings for the school run/rush is extremely hazardous. If you are able to find a compound close to school that will relieve you of alot of stress. Khalifa B, though quiet, has no shops or other conveniences like Khalifa A has. It is a minimum of 15 kilometres from the main road in Khalifa City b to the main road in Khalifa City A where the strip of flats/grocery/drycleaners (locally refered to as 'Pink Shops' are) I calculated this when looking for schools for my kids in Khalifa A. For me living in A has far more advantages than living in B. Hope you manage to find a lovely home soon & good luck with the move:) P.S I can recommend a great property agent if you need one. edited by Nedi on 23/01/2013 edited by Nedi on 23/01/2013

Have a look on dubizzle, dubai. Also look at some hotel apartments in discovery gardens area - not too pricey I believe.

Panino' or Panini, forgot the exact name in Terminal 3 at airport is nice. Three hours isn't really that long to go out airport for a brekkie especially as he has to do customs, security and passport control again. However as the other ladies have suggested the best option out of airport & closest - should he wish to go out, is the golf club.

Know of a few people who have used Excellent Movers. A very close friend has recently used them to move from jumeirah to green comm. Awesome job done as the villa was massive! We have also used Excelent Movers a few months ago and honestly they live up to their name. Very friendly and professional team.

From experience in AD, most docs at Sheikh Khalifa Hospital are good. Would recommend Dr. Ali Al Suwaidi - Ortho Surgeon at Sheikh Khalifa. He did reconstructive surgery on my partner's shoulder after a serious accident. Al Noor chain of 'hospitals' overall in my opinion not good - am scared if faced with an A&E situation as it's closest to me :(

If you are looking for solid hard wood furniture (e.g. sheesham) that you can keep for a life-time, head down to Carrefour Airport Road there is a little showroom (not a store, just out on display in common area) on ground floor with some lovely pieces. Their main warehouse is in the Meena (port) area. It is called Debaj Trading. Although it might seem pricey at first glance compared to the Ikea cookie cutter stuff, you can haggle the prices :) Also this furniture is pretty 'bulletproof'and can withstand a few house moves and knocks & abuse from toddlers :-p Had our stuff for over 4 years now and plan on keeping most of it when leaving the gulf some day.

I am not aware of many bridal tailors in AD, but from my experience there is a lovely shop in Dubai's Jumairah Plaza Centre called The Bridal Room where I got my wedding things. They can make you a veil or you can rent one. The owner, Ann and her team are all lovely. Best wishes for the pending nuptials.

Perhaps a visit to Souq Qaryat Al Beri (adjacent to Shangri la Hotel) - it is similar to the Souk Madinat Jumeriah in Dubai. There are restaurants such as Noodle House, Sho Cho, Meat Company, and a few others, check online too. You could maybe use an Entertainer vouchers for the meal? Other than the Mosque tour and the Souk Q. Al Beri, I don't think there is much else worth looking at if your time is limited. Hope this helps and maybe some one else on the forum has some suggestions too?

Exiles is a cleaning service operating in AD. Not sure of rates.
