salsB - we loved Mauritius! We went in 2003 (so some time ago!) as a big family holiday and stayed in self catering villas beside Flic en Flac beach. We hired cars and just went touring around the island every other day. The highlight of the trip was driving to the East coast of the Island and taking a boat to Ile aux Cerfs. This is a private island owned by One and Only Resorts but you could get access to it for a fee. My DH and I went one day, after leaving the rest of the family on the beach, and we absolutely loved it. It was some time ago, so don't know if non residents can still get access to it, but I would highly recommend it if you are not staying at the One and Only Resort. Have fun!

Thank you so much! I will follow up with both recommendations. Better do it soon as my husband cares not a jot about walking around with no clothes on . . . not the best impression you want to give your new neighbours! Thanks again

Hello ladies, I shall be moving to Muscat at begnning of April to join my husband. We are relocating from Dubai and have managed to get ourselves a lovely wee bungalow in MQ. We were there at the weekend and I need to arrange some curtains for the living room and dining room as the ones in our Dubai aprtment won't fit. Does anyone know of a good (aka reasonaly priced!) curtain man who comes round with sample material and basically does it all? Or am I better just to make note of the measurements and get someone in Dubai to do it? The living room window is quite large so dont think I can pick anything up ready made. Any help would be appreciated - thanks!

Hello all Scottish ladies! Have to agree with SL13 that Ayrshire is far from posh; I've been saying that I'm from Glasgow but originally from the South West (without going into further details) for years! I think you'll agree with me, when you realise that I come from Kilwinning don't want to advertise it! StarryEyed - I have a few Scottish items that I got for Xmas; mugs, pinny (apron), flag, cushion, recipe book, etc. Let me know if you're interested.
