It's a bit stressful and overwhelming looking for an affordable school. I am looking myself for my 3 year old daughter turning 4 in November. Some schools will not accept her age since she is not 4 by September 1st. Others who do are very expensive which I seriously do not understand the big gap on school fees. And it's also difficult to book an inquiry as most require a payment of 500 AED just to visit. Is that the norm?
The 500 AED is the registration fee usually, it is not to view the school but to accept your application. The tours of the schools as far as I know are free.
I have looked at all the schools in terms of location, tuition cost and so they are at least GOOD rated on KHDA reports. I really do not mind what nationality of the teachers or pupils are in the schools as our budget unfortunately dictates the choice. My reasoning is this - if the school is rated GOOD, the management is western and there are western pupils at the school (no matter how few), that school is worth considering. Would you agree?
