Hi! I have moved my son (just after Easter) from Dess to Kings Jumeirah. My son loves his new school and could not be happier and so am I. No regrets at all, Kings is a fantastic school.

I have two children in EC (Year 11 & Year 8). Both are doing well and love going to school. The school is small and as it was already mentioned, non of the children get unnoticed. The school offers a fantastic choice of after school activities. Most of the teachers are from the UK and teaching is excellent and individual according to every child. The senior leadership team is very experienced and a new (middle east experienced) Headmaster was appointed in September. The school might not have some of the facilities other schools offer but pastoral care and the neutering environment is outstanding.

Tallybalt you are right. SueB, why don't you try Seminyak area? Much nicer, with a great beach and very nice restaurants. We own a complex of Villas in Umalas, which is near to Seminyak. Please check it out on villablissbali dot com. Contact me, if you require further info! We've driven through Candidasa. Just be aware that there isn't much of a beach. It's one of the disaster stories of Bali because most of the original beach was dug up to build the hotels, leaving behind a concrete breakwater and a very rocky, pebbly strip of "beach." It's a very quiet place with limited amenities but we did stop at a hotel for coffee. The LP description is pretty much on target: http://www.lonelyplanet.com/indonesia/bali/candidasa What are you looking for? If you want a place where you can spend hours at the beach every day and have lots of shops and restaurants nearby, Candidasa isn't the place. Sanur, Seminyak or Nusa Lembognan would be better options, although they, like everywhere on Bali, have their downsides too.

I am currently in the process of seeking admission for my DS for grade 7. I have toured few schools, however this is a very hard task. As always JC is a first option but know as a fact that its tough to get a place there. I have looked at English college too and quite liked it. Besides been close to our home it has a strong teaching system (or so it seems). I would love if i could get any feed back about English college as my only reservation is how their primary school was closed suddenly. Also any feed back about GEMS WSO would be appreciated. Any other school that can be considered ? Hi! Two of my children are in EC (Year 8 and year 11). After a very "unsure" last year (closure of Primary School) we are very happy with the development of the school this year. We have a new, very experienced, Head teacher and over the summer the building was refurbished. There a a few new teachers and most of the "old"teachers are still at EC. Needless to say, that both my children are very happy at EC and I am satisfied with the academic development of our children. Due to the smaller size of the school, compared to many other schools, the school is very nurturing and all the children know each other.

Hi Salamander, We own two villas in Bali. The bigger one is rented out over xmas but the smaller one (2 bedrooms & pool) is still available. I can send you info, if you are interested! Hi there, Maybe we are bit late in our planning, but we (family of 4, 2 adults and 2 kids (5 and 8y old)) started now planning our Dec holiday. We are looking on google, but is so difficult to know if what you see is what you get ..I know it is all a bit vague, but we are focusing now on Vietnam, Thailand or Bali. Can anyone recommend accommodation at these places? Preferably, we would like to rent a beachhouse (or not too far away from a beach) with 2 bedrooms and private swimmingpool, but sometimes you can have that as well in a resort type stay (so that you even have the luxury of not to cook yourself..haha). Anyone has a tip? Thanks a lot! edited by Nettidxb on 16/09/2013

Hi! Hope somebody can help us. Our dog (rescue dog) passed away after 12 years. We are now looking for a Labrador Puppy from a good breeder. This seems rather difficult. I have contact several breeders in my home country. They don't want to wait 4 Months until the dog is ready to travel, they prefer to sell their puppies after 8 weeks.... I really do not want to order a puppy online. All websites seem rather dodgy and it all looks like puppy mills to me! Can anyone help? Thank you!
