I have short curly hair, and go to Elaine at Ted Morgan on the Palm. She cuts my hair so I can either blow dry it straight, if I can be bothered or leave it curly. I find her great for both cut and colour.

There are different calculations depending on if you left or were terminated. 7 day is correct if you chose to leave after just 1 year. Have a look at this web site it explains all the scenarios . http://www.dubaifaqs.com/gratuity-calculation-dubai.php

We had large DEWA bills for ages, even when we were away. Finally turned out to be that the stop cock in the water tank was stuck open so tank kept continuously filling and therefore was continuously overflowing pouring hundreds of gallons of water we had to pay for away. Perhaps check this if you can.

Not sure if AED500 fine is law, however our rental contract states AED500 penalty if any rent cheques bounce. Have a look at your contract and see if there is anything noted.

That's the problem here, it is hard to find someone decent and qualified. Those that are all have existing clients who hang on to them. There are no legal requirements here to be qualified to be a PT, so if estate agency doesn't work out there's always PT to have a go at :-)

I think DEWA must have got stricter with payments recently. We always pay our bills when we get them, however we have not received our latest statement which would have been due around 5th May and DEWA cut us off on 27th May without notice. When I spoke to them they said they had sent out notice in The next bill, which obviously I also had not yet had, as its not due until 5th June. So not even 1 month overdue and we were cut off. Perhaps we were unlucky, first time in 5 years we had not paid our bill by the due date. I would add that they were very efficient on reconnecting, the customer services stayed on line while I paid the bill by CC on their web site and then within 30 min their workers had come and turned the water back on.

I have no idea what they actually do when you complain, throw it in the bin I think. My DH had his old work phone transferred into his personal name and account in Dec 2012. We have not received any bills since then. We have been to business centre and complained raised 3 complaints via the customer services, each time we are told complaint resolved but 6 months later still no bills. There is obviously an internal marker/ tick box or something like this in their systems but no one knows how to correct this. How long do they expect us to go on with no bills. No one there can/ will help. Lost for ideas on where/ what to do. Unfortunately you can't take your number with you here so we are stuck. I have no illusions that Du are any different though. <em>edited by Nikki63 on 31/05/2013</em>

My friends need to move out of their Villa at the beginning of June but their new apartment will not be ready until September, does anyone know of or have an apartment or Villa which would be available for them to rent for this time. Perhaps you have to leave your rental early and this could be an option for you not to loose money. Would welcome any thoughts, thank you.

The endocrine system is quite complex. Thyroid-stimulating hormone (also known as TSH or thyrotropin) is a hormone that stimulates the thyroid gland to produce thyroxine (T4), and then triiodothyronine (T3) which stimulates the metabolism of almost every tissue in the body.[1'> It is a glycoprotein hormone synthesized and secreted by thyrotrope cells in the anterior pituitary gland, which regulates the endocrine function of the thyroid gland Usually a high TSH means the thyroid gland needs to produce more T4 which is then converted into T3. However there is a lot of discrepancy between doctors and countries over what is normal for a TSH level. Under 1 is considered ideal by many thyroid support groups. There is a lot of information on the Internet if you need it.

Ha ha ha Honey72 This made me laugh, we tell them the same every month when they phone, email and text to remind us to pay our bill! We have complained so many times I have lost count. Apparently you don't get what you pay for, this is what we were told so you have to pay for more than you want.

Have you had any tests for vitamin deficiencies. Low vitamin D can cause fatigue Low iron can also cause this, plus there may be many more vitamin deficiencies that also have this symptom. The other thing is to get your Thyroid tested.

You may find main dealers are ok for things like this. We take our Audi in to the main dealers for lights and last time they only charged around AED 8 for the light, no extra charge for the fitting.

Hi Gilly3 I hope you find something, it may be easier for you to look at villas next to each other , not just individual villas. The reason being we also are going to Bali in July and needed a 5 bed Villa, we were looking in January this year. Because 5 bed Villas are large they also tend to be luxurious which means they were quite expensive, also a lot of the ones we were interested in were already booked for July. We ended up booking a Villa managed by http://www.marketingvillas.com I think they also market the villa in the thread below. They have been extremely professional. Have a look at the web site, they also show availability for the Villas if you are interested in them. We are staying on longer and renting a 3 bed in Seminyak, however there are also 2 beds at the same place as well, apparently a lot of families go there and rent villas next door to each other, don't know about availability, the web site is http://www.8hotels.com/bali-hotel/chandra-luxury-villas/ You need to be careful as there have been some scams involving people marketing and taking money for villas and disappearing, don't want to scare you, just warn you. Have a great trip, we are also going with grandparents etc with ages from 14 to 84 going, can't wait. <em>edited by Nikki63 on 07/05/2013</em>

Just for confirmation went to tHe rent committee yesterday. They were very helpful. They confirmed 12 months notice must be from date of renewal of existing contract! Also that no terms and conditions can be changed I.e. number of cheques.

Why should there have to be a law for people to be treated the same. What would you ask for if your DH was let go before the end of his contract. What if his employers found him another job so therefore didn't want to give him any benefits or pay him to the end of his contract or give him compensation for early termination, would you agree. We are all advised to ask/ negotiate with our employers our leaving dues why shouldn't a maid. I don't know all the circumstance but this is just another view.

The terms and conditions of your contract should remain exactly the same, it appears a grey area but the 90 day rule to changes only appears to apply if both sides agree to changes. They can't change the required number of cheques without your approval. RERA makes this clear. RERA also states that if the tenant and landlord can't come to an agreement over the number of cheques then the default applies, which is four cheques.

Thanks littleone Makes sense, but the differences still appear to apply to 1 beds, which I think are all road facing, so I guess for them it makes a difference on view and floor? I guess the price difference also goes together with the other thread on Real Estate Agents and trying to buy properties here, you don't know who or what information to trust.

Know this is an old thread, but I need help. Looking for a 5 bed Vill in Bali from 8th July for 1 week. Was thinking of Sanur as there are ages, 14, 18, 30, 50 and 84 going. Open to other suggestions. Do you know any good company's web site for me to look. I have found the problem that once you go over 4 bed most the 5 bed are expensive because they are luxurious. We just need 5 beds Thanks for any help

Pease ask her to stock shoes in size 42/43 I have given up trying to get shoes here. I ask shops all the time to stock bigger sizes but am told there is no call for them - really? Even shops that go up to larger sizes elsewhere do not have larger sizes here. I can't be the only one with this size.

This is negligence by the salon, they are responsible for a duty of care. Go back and complain, also take photos in case it gets worse. The best cream for burns is called Mebo, unfortunately it smells like seasame. It is recommended by dermatologists and can be bought at chemists here. I hope the burns heal ok good luck

Good news is I did manage to have a daughter who is now a beautiful 28 year old. Good luck and tell the doctors you want your Thyroid to be tested along with the other suggestion that have been made.

I think one of the most important things for anyone with thyroid issues is to understand the working of the thyroid and associated issues. As they say Knowledge is power. I read this book and can recommend it. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Your-Thyroid-How-Keep-Healthy/dp/190514010X/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1335861401&sr=1-1 You need to find a doctor who specialises in the Thyroid, most endocrinologists do not. In answer to your question Chocobella, I went to a specialist in the UK. I had many tests including T3 and Rt3 levels. In addition balance, reflexes and symptoms also point to lack of conversion. My understanding is if you have a high T4 blood level and a very low T3, this could indicate lack of conversion. However blood tests cannot show the uptake of hormones at cellular level. This means that blood tests can not be used as the only diagnosis.

Hi All The support group I am a member of is Thyroid Patient Advocacy, the web site link is below. http://www.tpa-uk.org.uk/index.php I was being prescibed T4, which is Thyroxine. It was discovered that I was not converting the T4 to T3, which is the active hormone the body needs, therefore why I still had all the symptoms. I now take T3. I'm glad that this information will hopefully help many of you, I would not want people to suffer as long as I did.
