Hi , we are also moving to Abu Dhabi in August from Australia, my husband will move in May. We are looking at Raha beach to live in either an apartment or townhouse. I have a 4 year old and 10 year old. Would love to make contact with other families before we move out. Is the housing expensive out there ? Looking on Internet but as in Australia looks can be deceiving in relation to size and area. Any other suggestions of beach locations would be very much appreciated :)

Thank you all for your replies. I looked at the Australian school but realised after looking into it that it did not have anything to do with Australia. I agree completely with busybee2s reply. So far have put in applications for BISAD and Al Yasmina will wait to hear back. I think the 1st year will be a learning curve as far as living and schooling go. We are looking at Raha Beach to live either in an apartment or townhouse. From blogs I have read it is about a 20 minute drive to BISAD.Looking for an area with things to do during day and restaurants in evenings. Any other suggestions will be very much appreciated

BSAK is completely full and not taking waiting lists :( it was our first choice as refered to by my husbands company but not to be. Are the areas you suggested mbz/kcb/kca nice and close to a beach ? I have always lived by the sea and not keen on living inland. I will look at Repton on Reem Island, but not sure how far a commute that would be for my husband.I heard back from Brighton today but looks quite posh ?!? ;) so far I have applied to Al Yasmina and Bisad. Will decide on a third one tomorrow. All of the paperwork is very time consuming ! So hard to know areas / schools when you are not in country. Info re quinns is excellent I will look into it. Thank you.

Hi , we are an Australian family moving to AD in August 2013, my husband will be arriving in May. Just looking for information re schooling for my 5 year old girl and 10 year old boy. I have submitted an application for Al Yasmina, tonight will be doing 1 for BISAD and maybe Brighton and Raha Int. I already know I am going to have problems getting my 5 year old in. Any feedback on the schools I have mentioned would be greatly appreciated. I am thoroughly confused at the moment and finding the whole school situation rather daunting. I have read some bad things regarding Raha Int which has put me off. Very worried about bullying and lack of discipline in the schools. Also looking at the new Cambridge school. My son is very sporty and loves Rugby so also looking for a school he will enjoy. Looking forward to hearing from other mums . Was looking at living near Corniche but now schooling may dictate the area! :) Thanks
