There is a chap called Asif Rehman in Abu Dhabi, he does lots of removals for lots of people. This link gives you all you need to know & the phone details are still correct. Good luck! http://www.expatwoman.com/forum/topic197223-furniture-pick-up-within-ad-forum22.aspx

Hi, Maybe a look at Ikea.ae to give you an idea of costs of towels etc. I'm really glad I brought my pillows with me. I can't give you a approximation of cost of living I'm lazy & do convenience shopping not for budget so use Waitrose and Spinneys, There are big supermarkets which are cheaper though. Mobile phone costs can be found online & they offer international calls, have a look at Etisalat. I would check that you accommodation is included in your package though, genuine accommodation isn't that cheap. Heaps of luck

That's really great, Yes, 12,000 is a brilliant turnout. I'll pop along to the next one to have a look about. Thanks for taking the time to reply. I wish you luck with future events.

That's really good to hear, I have friends selling at markets and finding it tough, so, well done. Did they ask for your business licence or are you covered under theirs?

We have the 770 model. We bought it about 6-7 years ago for about £600 I think & it's still going strong. The newer ones have better technology, ours has brushes which need to be maintained, but the new ones seem to have roller rollers instead, much better. Only downside is that it won't vacuum the stairs. A cordless Dyson & a Roobma easy!

We had a Roomba when living in Europe & it was excellent! We have hairy dogs so had to empty it on a very regular basis but it did a super job. Battery takes an hour or so to boost & then you can set it off again. I wouldn't buy one of the cheaper versions, but I would buy another Roomba (if we didn't have a maid). It coped well with rugs but it swallows cables & gets stuck.
