@appletiser: the shopsnu mentioned never have my size! Their 41 is a 10 US. Do you ask for an 11 us size or just a 41? If a 41 fits you, then you're a 10 or 10.5.....tried and tested :-)

I think the lesson to be learnt here is that being able to afford a maid just doesnt mean getting the deposit together and being able to pay her a salary. It means having enough to cover keeping a person with regards to good medical care, sending a person home for whatever reason - no matter how soon after her arrival, and being able to lose the fees associated with having a maid should things go completely pear shaped. edited by DesertRose1958 on 23/03/2012 I have to disagree with you here a bit: when I sponsored a maid, I signed a contract saying that I'd pay her return ticket at the end of her two years. It also stated that any reason she should have for returning before the end of her contract would be on her own account. So, actually away from her being genuine or not. I shouldn't be paying really. Also, sponsoring a maid doesn't mean that I'd expect any departure in my account after 6 months which I get to pay then sponsor a new one and again pay 12000 dhs all over again! Do you get what I mean? :-) PS: thanks for your view on this really

I actually don't mind sending her home...I mind paying for her ticket which is 4600 dhs after working only 6 months. The strange thing is that there are no availability to the Philippines this whole week so it's really out of my hands anyways. An update on the agency visit: even the phillipinas working there don't believe her!

First, I have to thank you all for taking the time to reply back...thnx a bunch Second, I did comfort her in every way I can and I did ask what happened and all...she said it was a motor cycle accident and the guy driving was under alcohol influence and he was put in jail. My first reaction was definitely to send her home ASAP to see her daughter...it's such a trauma! The thing is she didn't even ask to call her husband back or even her other daughter!! Another thing is the plane ticket isn't cheap...I wouldn't wanna do that and then she doesn't come back. My financial status now isn't great anyways. Then we called the agency we got her from and asked for advice. The agency owner wasn't surprised at all at her story and asked us to bring her to the agency this evening. What's scaring me now is that what r they gonna do with her there? Threaten her, hurt her, try to force the real story out of her. If that happens, how the **** can I have her stay at my house after that?? I got 2 girls for god's sakes! This is scaring the **** outta me I'm sooooo confused here :-(

Hmmm. Depends, would you still pay her if you cancelled at the last minute? If so then fair enough, if not...... I would still pay her actually if I cancelled last minute...what annoyed me the most was the cheque part!! I have never met a tutor asking for her or his fees payed with a cheque :-)

The owner of the "late" bead palace has relocated to Canada with all her goods. I think one of you ladies addressed me in another thread re juwelry making classes. I am happy to do a beginners class for a minimum of 4 persons, max 6. Saturdays would be ideal. Let me know if you would like to discus. that was me who offered to have the classes at my place :-) saturdays cannot work for me at all...any weekday in the mornings is possible
