Hmmm, you could walk to al Yasmina from parts of Al Raha Gdns but agree with other poster that you'd be best to come and stay in a hotel as information on website is usually out of date/wrong. Internet information here is not like in the UK - often you need to 'know someone', here to find out things here. Do consider the weather - IMO walking anywhere is not an option May to October as it is upwards of 35 degrees and gets horribly humid.
Walking to shops is not really an option (well, not around Al Yasmina) as life is designed around huge shiny 4x4s (way too hot most of the year) but taxis are cheap and plentiful. BUT hiring a live-in driver is a possibility - around 2000 dhs a month if your provide a car, 5000 dhs a month if they provide the car. Houses often have a room for driver/maid to live in. Also drivers advertise their part-time services in supermarkets etc.
Not meaning to be negative, there are some lovely things about living here - very welcoming expat community being just one :-)
