Hello ladies, posted this thread on the Dubai thread as well, but I'm also hoping someone knows where I can find one in AD. I'm looking for teak wood SEALER, not teak wood oil. Tried Ace, Buildmart, and Carrefour, but only found teak oil, not teak sealer. Thanks so much.

I think it really depends on your skin type. I tried nizoral and it did not work for me at all. Like what redlesley said, good luck with whatever you try...

I'm just wondering... they have my 1st email with my expectations, why do you think they're asking for my current package? If they've forgotten my reply, they can easily go back to the email. Is it because of what Eva B. said? would they want to see how far off i've made my expectations from my current so they can offer me midway? Just makes me wonder what's behind the asking again when they have my previous email to look back on.

I can highly recommend the Seba-Med anti-dandruff shampoo. i'm pretty sure you can find it any supermarket. It's the only shampoo that has worked for me and still does.

This would be normal practice in the UK (def in banking ayway) and you'd be expected to prove it by showing bank statements / salary certificates etc; is it a UK or US organisation? In which case they are probably just following their own processes. It's a US company, with very strict security protocols, background, and what not. Thanks very much for all of the replies ladies. I am leaning towards restating my expectations or something along that line. I don't want to reply too late like next week, but I don't want to reply right away either and say the wrong thing. I'm still going to give it more thought! Ahhhhh....

Well let's just say they're a company that actually does background checks and other security checks before hiring. So i'm not sure if they might go to my current company and do some kind of reference check? I just don't want to put myself in a situation that might jeopardize this opportunity! :S Thanks for the reply. :)

My husband gets up from the dinner table (usually 6pm ish), goes to sit at the computer and downloads music. I get up from the dinner table (usually 6pm ish), put the three children in the bath, find their pj's, organise childrens' clothes for school & daycare the next day, clear the dishes from the table, dress the children, read to the children, put the children in bed, go back to the kitchen to stack the dishwasher, wipe the benches down, clean the dinner table, sweep and mop the floors and finally pack lunches for the next day. As I snap the last lunchbox lid on (usually 8.30pm ish)... ...'D'H looks up from the freakin' computer and asks, "Can I do anything to help?" Hehehe... that's just too funny!

The AED 4,762.56 is already based on the amount of days you worked with the company (745 days, or 2 years). So you shouldn't mulitply it anymore.

AriVW, did you resign? If you resigned, and your [b'>basic[/b'> salary (not total salary) is AED 10,000 per month, your eosb is AED 4,762.56. If you were terminated, your eosb is AED 14,287.67

ladies, correct me if i'm wrong, but doesn't it also depend if it's a termination or resignation (for non-freezone)? if resignation, service is >1<3 years, employee is entitled to 1/3 of 21 days (total, 7 days) of basic salary, per year of service if resignation, service is >3< years, employee is entitled to 2/3 of 21 days (total, 14 days) of basic salary, per year of service if resignation, service is >5 years, employee is entitled to full gratuity (total, 21 days) of basic salary, per year of service if termination, service is >1<5 years, employee is entitled to 21 days of basic salary, per year of service if termination, service is >5 years, employee is entitled to 30 days of basic salary, per year of service madolecow's formula seems about right, just take the above into consideration.

Same as Appletiser, travelled to Germany with my Schengen Visa on my old passport. Travelled around without a problem. Didn't get asked for a marriage certificate, just the usual immigration questions, what's your purpose of travel, etc...

I second Hilton RAK Resort & Spa. If the Bed+Breakfast deal is still on, then you get an additional 25% off per person at the dinner buffet at Maarid Restaurant. The breakfast and dinner buffet were both lovely. The beach chalets looked nice and are closer to the beach than the separate beach area for the other hotel rooms. They have a quite a few number of pools as well. Overall it's a nice hotel. Sorry, not too sure if it's near RAK bus station. Don't remember passing one on the way. The Cove Rotana is a bit before the Hilton RAK Resort & Spa, that's all I know for sure. There's also a lovely hotel in Fujairah which hubby and I went to last year, Japanese-owned hotel I think. Sorry the name's at the tip of my tongue. Will try to remember it.

Depends when the travel dates are, but there's a return flight on Singapore Aitlines for AED 2,545. As Sticky Wicket mentioned, Philippine airlines codeshares with Emirates and Etihad and usually flights are cheaper. But just checked online and oddly it seems a bit pricey this time, AED 3,400. edited to add: there's a flight on Etihad (dxb-mla) for AED 2,900. edited by P on 05/04/2011

I heard setting up a business in RAK is the cheapest. Sorry but I don't have any other information about how much or how. It might be worth researching though. HTH

Saw your replies a little too late, but thanks for taking the time to reply, nonetheless. Their suite was absolutely beautiful, but the hotel was super-packed because of the Yacht show and the Battle of the Brands. Definitely agree w/ Ashes, the pool area is lovely. Thanks again ladies.

Was worried about a relative in bahrain as well, but just got a msg saying "not much to worry here, news shown and heard are far from reality, exaggerated and one-sided." In any case, I hope things turn out alright.

Thankfully, the bearer was smart enough to sign the back of the cheque. Phew. Still don't want to waste a trip to the bank only to find out that they won't encash it even with an authorization letter. Thanks for the reply KB100

Sounds like a virus as my 20 month old son had the same symptoms last week...started with fever and a runny nose and that lasted for a day followed by 3 days of diarrhoea and sickness. Not good. Went to doc and poo test confirmed that it was a viral issue. Same here. Must be a nasty viral bug going around. Little one also started with a fever and runny nose. Fever went on for 3-4 days, alternated with calpol and suppositores. Doctor did a throat swab test to check if it's a bacterial infection, test came negative so it's definitely a viral bug. Not much you can do with a viral infection but to try to keep the fever down. Seems like it's not only going around with the little kids. Lots of people at work sick with the same thing it seems. Hope your little one gets better soon!

Thanks for the reply BuckeyD. So, to deposit it's not a problem. But to encash over the counter? Didn't really notice if the cheque had the A/C Payee part on it or the 2 lines on the upper corner... hmmm... I googled the same question as well, but the only thing that came up was deceased, divorced, separated spouse. All of which don't apply to me.

Hi ladies. Does anyone have any experience with encashing a cheque that is named to your spouse? Is it possible if there is a written authorization letter? Thanks heaps.

He has been my Valentine for 24 years and although I have always done something special my husband says he loves me everyday and doesn't need a date on the calendar telling him to spend money and what to say and feel. I have accepted this but still each February 14th I do wish for a little something special. Today, however, all of my past disappointments have been forgotten. My unromantic husband not only made my day but my decade by posting a link to my facebook page to the amazing Freddy Mercury fronting Queen and singing 'You're my best friend'. [i'>*please google you tube clip I am at work and can't post it*[/i'> He stayed up watching the screen for when I 'liked' it and then called me and said that it might have taken him 21 years of marriage and 24 years together but he had finally found our song. I think I'll keep him :) Awww! How cute! :)
