Just what you'd wear in the UK.

This is all so helpful. Thanks everyone. I haven't seen neem trees in the nurseries, maybe I'm just not familiar with them but I'll be on the look out now. And the flame trees are beautiful.

Thanks ladies. I just wasn't sure how a new visa could be sought without the maid/potential new sponsor having access to the passport.

Is this worth the hassle? It seems like there are substantial costs involved with sending them out of the country and back again. Anyone care to share their experience? Thanks

I had an appt booked with this Dr but cancelled it because of details of a really negative birth experience had by a lady I met. It's so hard to know who to go with!

Ok, this is an interesting question, im looking to hire a nanny soon as im expecting my first. I will be going back to work after 3 months maternity, so this does not leave my nanny /maid for an option of a start/finishing time. So, how does that work? She will be at home with my baby and will be expected to clean a 2brm apartment. Also, i will need help with noght time wakeups as i have to work everyday. How should i deal with this? I would also be interested to know how night time duties such as helping with baby are worked into a contract.

Thanks! I have a bottle of Clorox under the sink and it has a pic of laundry on it. What would this do to a cotton shirt?

Thanks Meagle. This is most helpful! Looking at other posts on the matter, it seemed that the two jobs never crossed over.

I've searched for info on nannies but there isn't as much as on maids. Can anyone tell me if nannies work regular daytime hours or can they work nights instead? And if anyone with a nanny can outline the task list, that would be a great help to me. Thanks edited by Pansy on 13/10/2013
