We used Thames movers last month to move within Dubai - they were very good and were the cheapest for a large professional company. When they come and do the survey and give a price, you can negotiate them down a bit too.

No I wouldn't drink it, I don't know anyone who does. I have used it before in the kettle though for tea/coffee and its always been fine if boiled.

When offshore you no longer have a main residence in uk as you are an expat, so any and all properties owned are subject to cgt I think. However as long as u stay offshore for more than 5 years you are currently exempt. But this will change from April next yr.

I looked into them but from what I understood they only covered testing an routine check ups so useless for emergency treatment or ops which is what costs all the money.

There are lots of men with cheap open top vans nr mall of emirates, along from Pan furniture store. Barter with them. As an example we had a large sofa collected from the Palm and delivered to us in Springs for 100aed (and extra 10 aed for extra guy to help with carrying).
