Ok, so it looks like the visas for myself and children will be through very soon now, so lots of questions are coming to mind.
Firstly, my husband is looking for housing and not having much luck so far. Any suggestions as to compounds that have reasonable facilities but not crazy prices? (Does such a thing exist in Riyadh??)
Secondly, I know I won't be allowed to drive unless we happen to live in a large compound - but how does that look in reality? How much freedom do women have - can we go out as and when we please? And is it ok to go out alone or with kids? Can we take a taxi, or are we expected to have a car and driver? And then, what about getting the kids to school? My little one is only 3 and I do not like the thought of putting her on a school bus and leaving her to it, especially in a new environment.
Any advice, please?
Thank you both! I am waiting to hear from my husband but he was expecting his iqama today - hurrah! So now it's a waiting game - again. Plus wading through the minefield which is KSA schools....
Hi
Thanks for this. I have seen the ad and emailed but no reply, and called this evening but the phone was switched off. Do you know if the group is meeting this week? And which day do you go?
Hi
I'm new to the forum - looking forward to 'chatting'.
I have a son aged two and a half and we're on the look out for playgroups. We live in Arabian Ranches so anything local would be great, but we would go to other locations if need be.
If you know of any groups please do let me know - and any other recommendations of things for a busy 2 year old would be much appreciated too.
Many thanks
PCW
Thanks in anticipation.
