Hi Ladies, Congrats to you both :) Pretty exciting times ahead! Have had the dreaded all-day morning sickness, but coming close to the magic 12 which I have been told is when all the grief stops. Have the 12 week scan coming up on the 22nd - looking forward to that! Would love to catch up and meet you all. School holidays are coming up in another two weeks, so possibly then if that works for you? Talk soon, Philly

Max - you make me laugh! Feeling much better this week. Told my class and parents at school now (they kept on pitying me for catching so many Dubai bugs ?!?!?) I have noticed that it's not so comfy to sleep on my tummy anymore. I thought that wasn't supposed to happen for another few months! Been having major memory lapses as well. I can be mid-sentence and have no idea what's going on or what I'm talking about. From what I've been told, these lovely changes are just all part and parcel of being The Pregnant One. I have noticed a different body smell too - keep putting on deoderant upteen times a day as I panic that others can smell me. Although it could just be paranoia because no-one else has commented. Re your next scan: when I talked to my doctor, I got told that I bring the scan back to her and she would go over everything in detail for me Meantime, keep well and enjoy. Philly

Hi girls, I'm booked in to City Hospital with Dr Ibrahim. Heard great things about them from my doctor and a few others I've met. Was a bit nervous about having a male ob (as only like female docs), but the ranting about him was too good to ignore. Just told family and friends this weekend which was really exciting. I was starting to run out of excuses for being sick and not drinking. Luckily everyone has been so polite that when they thought of, they didn't mention it! Nausea has been setting in which really sucks, but had a few more suggestions: been told that hubby needs to bring me black tea and dry toast before I can put my feet on the floor. Still working on that so will let you know how that goes... Anyway, hope all is going well with everyone. If anyone wants to have a weekend catchup, let me know. Either through here or email me phillipareddy at yahoo dot co dot nz Philly

Hi everyone, I'm 9 weeks pregnant and looking for other mums/mums-to-be who are due in May. This will be the first for me, and had due date confirmed as 3rd or 4th of May. Very excited as lost one before. Still waiting to share with family and friends after the 12week point, but really keen to hear how others are getting on. Just had first scan today which I was a bit nervous about, but was told that baby is fine and normal - massive relief! Anyone else who is a first-timer or an old hand: would love to hear from you. Been in Dubai for 5 months so its hard enough being away from home, let alone in a new place with a new experience like this. Hope to hear from you soon, Philly

Hi everyone, congrats - hope I'm not too late/early on this thread. Now 9.3 weeks pregnant, and due date early May. Very excited as lost one before. Just had first scan today which I was a bit nervous about, but was told that baby is fine and normal - massive relief! Would love to be in the loop about things. First baby, and away from home for the first time. Keen to do a coffee morning (or hot chocolate) but in the weekend as currently working. Had a bit of nausea. Not sure if some of you are still suffering from it, but found my tastes changed from one minute to the next. Started being able to stomach only rice crackers, then salty chips, and now shortbread. I keep a selection of all of them in my bag as I never know what I will or won't want. Also found that having some Gatorade is helpful with hydration and keeping away headaches.

Hi. Really sorry to hear about your loss. I miscarried 11 months ago which was pretty horrendous, and my good friend and I were due a week apart. It was bittersweet when she gave birth, as I felt like I should have been there too. I was visiting another friend in London around the time of my due date, and wondering around a lot of churches and old buildings. That definately helped me, to just find a quiet space to sit down and think. I took a bit of time out for myself - mani/pedi, really sad movie so I could bawl my eyes out - that kind of thing. What worked for me was to throw a flower in a river/sea and think of the little one that wasn't around. I also talked a lot to friends, as I think that not enough people tell their story if they lose a baby. Hope this helps. Sending you lots of good thoughts xx
