We were in Bali last year during the first half of June, and the weather was lovely. Not too hot, few occasional rain showers. In all, very pleasant.

Hello ladies, So, I was on the look out for Shea butter , googled Shea butter Dubai and got this, sheabutteruae.com. Does any one have any experience with them? Their prices are definitely good, and they have a good collection of natural butters. It would be good to know if somebody has used their products.

Hi Ladies, We are planning a trip to Bali with our 3 year old. Any recommendations for hotels/resorts? I am looking at trip advisor to settle on a resort, but all of the reviews are so confusing! Your personal experiences would be a big help. Thank you.

smartee, you are in a difficult situation. But this is what I think. Given the predicament that he has put you in, you have already distanced yourself from them. So assuming, you go ahead and tell her, does it really matter if he or she gets upset with you about this matter? You would have done your part as a good friend. If I were in her place, I really hope that one of my friends would opt to tell me the truth and save me from additional heartache. ....and honestly, I would give him a piece of my mind! I wouldn't want such kind of friend anyways. He is treating two women very badly here, both the wife and girlfriend.

The last time I was in Organic Cafe on SZ Rd, they had it there. Same place where they keep supplements and essential oils.

They are slightly larger than the regular dole bananas and more firm to touch (both raw and ripe) They are thicker too. We call them "ethakka" (eh-tha-ca) or "kaya." The men in the smaller grocery shops are mostly South Indian and may get this name. Do try.

Plantains are almost a staple with us. There are so many ways to have them. Raw green plantains - We steam it or maybe even saute it with a tiny bit of oil. Add a bit of spices, onion and garlic....and yum! Medium Ripe Plantains - Used to make banana chips. . Ripe yellow plantain - Eat them just as....my fav. Steamed ones for my DD. Her personal fav are the banana fritters made with these. In South India, where I am from, dried and powdered raw plantains are usually among baby's first foods. Sort of like cerelac. Lulu will def have them. Most of the smaller groceries have them too.

Hello ladies, need your suggestions pls. I have curly hair, however my hair is also thin and frizzy. The frizz has been mainly due to my over dependence on the hot iron. So, I want to give my hair a break. I would love to leave my curly hair as it is. I need a good hair stylist who can give me a cut for my curly hair. Every time I go to the hair dressers, I usually end up with a cut that needs some bit of styling. I once had luck at this salon called Juice in Mankhool. She gave me an amazing cut and I rocked it for quite a while :D But once it grew back, I went back to her, and she just couldn't do it again :( Do you have recommendations for a hair stylist who knows how to go with different hair textures? Also, any tips/products to maintain healthy curly hair? Thank you so much for listening! :)

Thank you Appletiser. Need to locate an afro hair salon now. I had considered satin pillows. I needed them for my little girl as well. If only she stayed on the pillow through the night . Saw a you tube video where the girls wore these bonnets as part of their night time routine, and it seemed to stay on well too. Made so much sense in my case.

One of the item we ordered from them turned out to be defective. It took us almost a month to get them to reply. No answer to phones or emails. However, in the end, we got our money refunded back. We won't be using them again...too much hassle, and very poor customer service.

Hi Ladies... I've been meaning to write in about my experience with a reflux baby, and how we finally sorted it out. DD is 4 months now...and super happy. To be honest, its like I've almost forgotten all the panic I went through. I was one of the readers here going through all the forums on reflux trying to figure out a way. The doctors I went to weren't much of help. They kept dismissing it as "Oh...its just gas." She got prescribed Infacol., but that didnt help at all. But I just couldn't stand and watch her in distress. She was spitting up after every other feed, and she wanted to feed all the time. She hardly slept, and her little legs were pulled towards her chest most of the time. She had some relief when we placed her on her belly. But it was scary for me to leave her on her belly for long...she was so little! My husband and I have always approached homeopathic doctors for most of our ailments (colds, allergies, etc.) But we never knew homeopathy had treatments for reflux as well. We just happened to go there to get an opinion as we were at our wits end. The doc was very confident that this was an issue that could be sorted out. For those who are not familiar with homeopathic treatment....it takes a bit of time, say abt 2-3 months. You cannot expect immediate results with homeopathy. We started her treatment and in about two weeks, she was spitting up considerably less. The medicines were prescribed for a month. After each month, the doctor would re-evaluate her and give us a new set of medicines. By the time she was three months I could hardly see any traces of reflux in her. She was sleeping well, and no more spitting up. Finally!! :) She is not on homeopathic treatment right now, but I do intend to take her next week, as shes having dry skin issues. I have complete faith that it can be sorted out easily. I was always adamant that I wouldn't pump DD with medicines unless absolutely necessary. So I'm happy that alternative medicine has worked on her. @TanyaR - There are lots of good homeopathic doctors in Dubai. I can give you the contact details of my doc if you are interested. I can also get contact details of the homeo doctors my friends use. Hope your LO feels better soon. Cheers! :)

Where can I find good bras in Dubai? Most places that I look, stock underwired. I turn around and see a good design...and uhh...its underwired! I've been reading that its not advisable to wear underwired bras while you are breastfeeding, and anyways, I think I would be uncomfortable too. Not particular about getting nursing bras, as most of them that I have found are quite expensive. Not very keen on spending a lot on bras right now! But yeah, if they come affordable...definitely. So pls help....let me know where I can get some good non-underwired bras. Thanks!! :)

Thanks for all of your replies ladies! And sorry about my late response. Caught the flu, and was completely drained off all my energy (...what little there was left...) Got so weak that it scared me into thinking that I was gonna deliver early! Feeling so much better now, and DD still safe inside me! :) SweetLily - reading thru carseat.se now. I was under the impression that I wud need to change from rear facing to front facing by the time DD reaches age 1. Will def take all of ur advice. Thanks! :)

Hi, Congrats on the pregnancy!! :) I am 37 weeks now, and have been seeing Dr. Iliana at Belhoul since my 24th week. So far, I am very happy with her. I always get an appointment before going to see her, as there is always a huge rush of people to see her. That way, I don't get to do much waiting. She has always been very patient, takes time out to explain my doubts, no matter how busy she may be that day. Plus, when I started with her, I carried all of my previous medical records, and she went through them very thoroughly. Made me feel very comfortable. Maybe u can try seeing her? My due date is near...doc says anytime now. Will let u know how the delivery goes. :) Good luck!

ok...Baby Girl is due in a month...and I still havent been able to fix on a car seat or stroller! Truth is that, the couple of times that I hv been to the shops, I stand absolutely clueless in front of the car seats and strollers. So, Im hoping all you experienced ladies can help me out. Car seats - What should I be looking for? My only requirement is that I find something that can be used from the time she's an infant to around the time she's 2 years. (Do they make them like that?) Can a rear facing car seat be converted into a front facing one? Do I need a Car seat base? What r they for exactly? Strollers - Again, looking for something that can be used from the time shes an infant, and converted as she grows. Hopefully something thats sturdy yet lightweight. I hv seen some of my friends struggling when it comes to folding down the strollers. The ones that can be changed from front facing to rear facing would also be good. Pls do give me an idea of the price also. Thanks!

I'd been searching for exercise groups too....but none that I heard of. Finally, did some research on the net and bought myself a Yoga DVD - Prenatal Yoga With Shiva Rea. You can buy it from Virgin. I'm liking it so far, they have variations for diff trimesters....a lot of stretching, and a bit of Kegel exercise added in.

Hello Ladies, So, as I've said, I know that this question has been asked several times, in fact, I have gone through many similar topics on the forums, but I needed some updated comments. We are expecting our first baby in Dec, and of course entirely thrilled....and confused...! I am currently going to Zulekha Hospital, but I am having my doubts bcoz looking back, many of my friends who have delivered there have all gone through C-sections. I am worried that this may be a practice followed by the hospital and I dont want to be pushed into an unnecessary C-section procedure. So, if any of you have any sort of experience, pls do comment. Welcare, Gharoud is another option I am considering. I've been reading a lot of positive comments about welcare on the forums here. Again, my friend who delivered there (I was with her thru the whole process) had gone through some trauma as she came into Labor pretty quickly, and the staff weren't quite ready for it. The aftercare was amazing though. So, Im wondering if this was an isolated incident or any one else have encountered similar. Any opinions on City Hospitals, and the gynecs there? So, ladies, pls help....fire away your comments. All answers will be greatly appreciated...! :) Thanks everyone!! :)
