Hi Alenka. How did the tea go? Does it taste good? I'm thinking of buying that today. :) I read about Evening Primrose Oil as well, it helps soften the cervix, prepares you for labor, minimizes chance of tearing. Have you read about EPO? I tried one like 3 days ago and it gave me weird cramps so I got scared and never touched it again. Lol.

Hi there Philly. Thank you dear, I really hope it goes well. To be honest, I'm thinking of the easy way out which is elective CS. But then I tell myself I should try the sweep, if it doesn't work at least I tried my best right? It's great that Flynn is doing well and gaining on weight. He will catch up soon enough. I'm sure you're enjoying motherhood, it's a bliss. Can't wait to experience it myself. You must be really good at it for the nurse to think that you're not a FTM. Take care Philly. Keep us updated. xxx Hugs and kisses to Flynn.

Hi Anouja. If you don't mind secondhand, there's one on dubizzle for 80dhs.. Hi there Max. It's so nice to hear from you again. We understand you're very busy and enjoying your precious time with baby Lewis. How's the recovery going? I'm booked for a c-section on Wednesday. But before that, I will get a chance for labor on Tuesday. Since I cannot be induced, the most natural way to kick start labor is to sweep my membranes. So by this time next week I will have my little angel in my arms too. :) I feel better knowing when I will get to see him, but then again who knows maybe he will surprise me this weekend. :)

Alenka - It's great that your DH is back today. Now you can go for that "check" with your dr without worrying that you might go early. And you'll be more at ease knowing that he's there next to you for the next few days/weeks. I have the maxicosi cabriofix too and thinking of buying the summer cover, please let me know how your experiment will go. :D MrsAbdalla - Mashallah everything went well with your dr. Except for the sugar part, well at least you have only 10 days to abstain from sweets. I know how it feels, I was put on diabetic diet because my blood sugar was a bit high. Then when it was controlled, I got a go signal to have some in moderation. I'm relieved that I have somewhere/someone to share my thoughts with. Because in my circle of friends, I'm the only one expecting!!! And they don't have kids! So while they're all out partying, I'm at home watching a movie, reading a book or sleeping. My girlfriends ask me how I'm doing blah blah blah, I tell them I'm dilated and effaced blah blah blah, they're very thoughtful but I know they have no idea what I'm talking about lol. So it feels good that EW is here and I learned a lot from the other ladies as well. So thank you very much ladies! xxx

MrsAbdalla - You're gas! Lol. The only dream I can remember right now was DH looking at another woman in the mall then looked at me and asked me, "you used to be like that, what happened to you? Blame it on all the ice cream and chocolates you've been secretly eating" (something like that) I woke up crying and angry at him. He was soooo confused the whole day because I wouldn't tell him what's wrong. My poor DH. Hahaha. I did think of going to the hospital and pretend my waters broke though and it wasn't a dream. :D

MrsAbdalla - Thanks sweetie. You'll be in my thoughts too. xx Lyndy - I have a motorola video monitor, haven't tried it yet still in the box as I got it as a gift. Is it really that bad? Dr appointment wasn't as good as I hoped it would be. I expected her to say, "congratulations you will have your baby today" hahaha. But no! She told me I'm a candidate for elective c-section, thanks to my crazy bp! She told me to take it easy so my bp will drop. But how can I relax knowing I might get a major abdominal surgery after the weekend? I'm trying my best to relax and not to panic. I mean if cs is the best way to go then so be it, right? I'm sure it's not that bad, it's not my ideal birth plan but at the end of the day what matters most is our safety. Alenka - Unfortunately I can't be induced at all because I had a previous miscarriage which did some damage to my uterus so there's a chance it could rupture. So it's either I go to labor on my own or c-section. The chance of uterine rupture is very low but it's still a risk I wouldn't dare take. Shower part is a big joke. OMG I can't go a day without a shower esp in this country. Lol. No need for "natural skin protection"! :D 38 weeks wooooh! Just 2 weeks left. Is DH back?

No useful progress according to my dr. I'm 2cm dilated, 60% effaced. I might have an elective c-section if my bp doesn't get better. Not even close to labor. I will be in Mediclinic City Hospital. Thinking of you ladies too. xox inshAllah we will all have our LOs in our arms soon.

Alenka - Ohh my mom is just crazy sometimes. She's old school but I love her to bits. She told me a lot of other advice about the baby which I'm not considering at all. The worst probably is to NOT take a shower for 3-4 weeks if ever I get a c-section. Something about keeping the incision dry thus promoting faster recovery. Like seriously? OMG are you kidding me mom? Lol. How's it going for you? Any updates? Speaking of c-section, I went to see my dr today and she advised me elective c-section! My bp has been acting up, it's not alarmingly high but if it doesn't go down over the weekend I'm going for a c-section. Induction is not an option for some medical reason. So I guess I won't be taking a shower for a month then! Hahahaha. MrsAbdalla - Good luck on your check up tomorrow, hope everything goes well. I don't see anything wrong with taking the hospital bag with you. It's better to be prepared! I had mine in the car all this time. :D

Oh I didn't buy anything :( I guess my DH is right after all I have EVERYTHING! Lol. Alenka - Ahh, you bought another maternity dress? I bought a maternity-ish dress like a week ago, I was planning to wear it as my going home outfit from hospital. So you're not alone. Hehe! I have to walk, I have to get out of the house because staying home is really driving me craaazzzzyy! I know I have to be resting but I just can't stay in one place for some reason. There are days when I want to sleep all day but most days I just need to do things. I've been nesting for like 2 months now, our villa is spotless!!! Lol. I think I will be staying home for a month or two after delivery, it's too hot outside. But the mall is a good idea. Maybe we can all go for coffee once we're all settled? MrsAbdalla - Hahaha! Like a maniac! LOL! I understand how you feel about leaving LO to others. My mom advised me not to hold the baby all the time, she said it will spoil the baby. She even told me I should let the baby cry all he wants especially in the morning because it's good exercise for his lungs! Uhmmm... no thanks mom! Newborns are spoil-proof!!! Touching, holding them in their early years give them comfort, makes them feel loved. And I don't think I can let my baby cry without doing anything about it. I maybe wrong here but I just don't think I can do that. I think we should do what we feel is good for LOs. Unless your dr tells you otherwise. I will probably leave LO when he's a few months old, because let's face it we need to go do things with DH that we used to do before the baby, like going out for a nice dinner for example. :) Lyndy - Hi there! How's it going with LO? Unfortunately, it's not my lucky day today. Lol. Oh well maybe tomorrow. I'm going to see my dr tomorrow so I'll get to see my little brat even if it's just ultrasound. :)

MrsAbdalla - I have this feeling I will go past my due date as well. I'm 39 weeks today! Hmm.. I have no experience with breastfeeding/breast pumps. But I've been reading a LOT because the more you know, the easier it will be they say. Lactation Consultants recommend pumping when your milk comes in, when your breasts are engorged it would be really hard for LO to latch on your nipple. You can pump or do it by hand. I also read somewhere that newborn babies sleep most of the time so pumping can help establish your milk supply. I guess it really depends on you. I'm thinking of buying one because there will be nights when I want to go out for dinner with DH, I'll get someone to watch LO for a few hours. And DH will probably feel left out if I breastfeed all the time. I'd like him to help in feeding LO sometimes so he will feel important too. That's just how I feel, like I said it's your own preference. HTH. :)

Hi ladies. How's everyone today? Alenka - To be honest, I don't have a birth plan. I had plans of how my ideal birth experience would be, but I know once labor starts anything could happen and my birth plan will just be thrown out the window. So I told my dr, to do whatever she thinks is necessary. I trust her 100%, she's been my dr for the past 5 years. She's been with me when I had a missed miscarriage last year, and we know each other very well now she's a family friend. I told her if I scream for epidural, she has to call the anesthesiologist and it has to be given to me right away lol. How about you, do you have a birth plan? The pressure down below means your baby has dropped, LO could be engaged in your pelvic region already! So exciting! Regarding me being active, it's not really my choice lol! My MIL has been coming almost everyday to check on me and she's the one pushing me out of the house to walk and swim. There are days when I hate her but I know she means well and I'm very lucky to have her with me because my mom is not around. :) AnonDubai - It's very exciting indeed. However, my dr said the mucus plug REGENERATES!!! So it really doesn't mean anything even if I lost it unless it came with regular contractions. Oh well.. I have 10 days left til my EDD. I hope I don't go overdue because it's already driving me crazy haha. Thanks for sharing your experience with us. :) MrsAbdalla - Ahh your sweet DH. We're so lucky to have such loving husbands :) My DH tells me every morning that I'm the most beautiful woman in his eyes no matter how much weight I gained from this pregnancy. Then he jokes around that I have 3 months after delivery to lose it all. Haha. Today I woke up feeling sooo lazy so I'm going to put my feet up, watch a movie and eat ice cream! :D

MrsAbdalla - Sorry this is TMI. I went to pee, as I was wiping myself down there I looked at the tissue and there was blood! So I had to inspect as I was panicking! It's like mucus from the nose but tinged with fresh blood. I called my dr right away, she said it's my plug and I shouldn't worry because it's normal but I shouldn't get too excited either unless I was having contractions. Which I had last night then stopped around 3am. Ugh! I know what you mean by swollen feet and hands! Omg. I can't even bear to look at myself in the mirror sometimes from all the swelling. But my MIL said, swelling means labor is coming soon. So let's look at the bright side. Drink plenty of water, as ironic as it may sound it helps with fluid retention! Take it easy and let's all just pray that everything will happen at the right time. :) I'm sorry about your knees, try swimming it's good exercise without putting pressure on your knees. I'm actually off now for a swim hehe! Talk to you ladies later, hopefully with good news. Ta xxx

False alarm, last night I lost my mucus plug.. Had a few contractions and back pain then stopped around 3am. My dr said labor could start anytime soon to a WEEK. Well at least I know something is going on down there. :D Alenka - Ohh same here, I remember reading your due date but too lazy to scroll down. So we're both guilty for that haha. It won't be long for us, then we'll be like the other ladies. Too busy to check the forums! :) I know what you mean by the big feet right under the ribs, ohhh boys are so naughty!!! It's good that you're keeping yourself busy by shopping bit by bit. I got everything already, so nothing left to do sigh. I walk around RAK mall during the afternoon, then at night I walk with DH around the neighborhood to the community pool, playground back and forth. So it's good light exercise for both of us. You know what, I packed the same bag!!! Haha. I have my small luggage which I usually take with me as hand carry when I go for vacation. I feel better knowing that I have everything. Good luck to you too, hopefully your LO will decide to come out when your DH is back. xx MrsAbdalla - Ohhh yea! You're having a little girl too. Congrats! I'm sure you're very excited. Congrats. I was honestly wishing for a little girl :D all those cute pink dresses and hair clips/bands. Ooohhh!!! There's always a next time, inshAllah next pregnancy. "Try and try until you succeed" :) Good luck to everyone still waiting. Wishing we will all have an easy and fast delivery :D xxx

Hi Alenka. What kind of examination is that? And how could it trigger delivery? I would ask for that one from my DR because I'm really excited to go on labor. Like seriously! Lol! Stay put and don't walk too much so your LO will stay until your DH comes back. I've been walking like crazy but still nothing. I guess I should stop wanting my LO to come out, so then he will just surprise me. I wish it's that easy though. :D Hmm.. I've read about belly bandit, good reviews. We might as well try it, what have we got to lose anyway right? Are you expecting a boy too? I feel like April is boys month.

I was diagnosed with missed miscarriage with my previous pregnancy. Everything was going well, no signs at all - no cramps, bleeding, etc. When I went for my 16th week check up, there was no heartbeat and the baby was measuring 13 weeks. It was the saddest moment of my life. I had a d&c after 2 weeks in City Hospital. Thankfully, I recovered emotionally with the help of my loving DH, family and friends. This happened last May 2011. I was scared to get pregnant again because I was scared that I will have another loss. Then out of the blue, August 2012 I found out I'm pregnant! Now I'm 38 weeks pregnant and will soon deliver my baby boy. My advice would be don't lose hope and I always told myself that everything happens for a reason. That God had other plans for me that time. Don't lose faith!

Babyboy - I have no experience regarding that matter. But I'm assuming that they are a bit expensive because they are trained specially for newborn care, like they have knowledge of first aid etc. How about your DH, family or friends? Maybe they can help you out while you're still getting the hang of newborn care? I'm planning to be hands on with my baby, although my husband and mother in law will be helping out as well. You can probably get a help for less price who can help you with basic household chores like laundry, cleaning, etc while you take care of your baby. HTH. Good luck.

So many little boys. :D Wishing you all a speedy recovery, take a lot of rest and enjoy every moment with LOs (this morning my MIL told me- kids, esp boys grow up too fast. So I replied - Don't say that mammy! My baby isn't out even out yet! Lol). Alenka - you better really pack that bag, girl. You'll never know when LO decides to exit your womb. Lyndy - You're welcome. Thank you again for sharing your experience with us. I have a feeling I will have a c-section too so I'm preparing/educating myself as much as I could. I had veg sushi but it's just NOT the same!!! I still have 2 weeks to go. No Braxton Hicks, no false labor, no pain, nothing at all. LO didn't even drop yet, I can still feel his kicks just under my rib. I guess my LO got too comfy he's not planning to come out anytime soon. I just wish I can sleep for 2 weeks so then I'd get to hold LO when I wake up. LOL! I've never been to the baby bazaar. I've read mixed reviews about it so I'm looking forward to go after LO is born to experience it myself. Ladies, any news on Max? I hope she's doing well. Enjoying her time with babyMax. :)

Hi Philly. Any news on Max? Did she deliver LO already? Sorry I'm too excited for her. :D Oh my poor DH is the same. Since I feel "too heavy" these past few days, he's been trying to do laundry, make breakfast, cook lunch, etc. For some weird reason, there's always something wrong (too much sugar in my tea, too much milk, eggs are not well cooked, bacon is burnt, etc LOL!) He probably got sick of my whining, today he got me IHOP breakfast sampler. What a bad influence! Hahaha. I loved their pancakes and bacon though. <3

They say the EDD is not really accurate esp for FTM (like me), you can give or take a few days. I'm due on the 22nd and will be in City Hospital. Hi Lyndy. Wow what an experience. I'm glad everything went fine for you. Congrats on your little DD, what a lovely name. Thanks for the heads up on 4D scan, I will definitely ask my DR next visit. How was your c-section? My DR told me I might have a c-section because my baby is a bit big, so I'm a bit scared with recovery and all that. I can't say much about well baby as I'm a FTM, but I know Healthbay in Al Wasl is really good because that's where my DR used to have her clinic and I've met a few moms in there who are really happy with their care. I wish you the best of luck. xx [i'> Can't wait to see my LO soon, just 3 weeks left inshallah. :D[/i'>

/alenka - You're welcome dear. Although, you can't put a sleeping baby on the car seat for more than 2 hours they say. It's not good for their back. So if you know you won't be out with your LO for more than 2 hours then you can just put him in the maxi cosi. I love walking in the malls and I definitely take more than 2 hours in there so I really had to get the bassinet. :p Anyone else having trouble sleeping? It's 2:00 am and I'm wide awake. Lol.

So now I'm thinking what if I get a C section, I'm planning to pack another bag now just in case. Lol. DH thinks I'm crazy. Like I'm planning to breastfeed so I'm taking my boppy pillow with me, but I also have a few small feeding bottles incase I won't be able to BF. You'll never know, I don't like being unprepared in times like this. :D Alenka - I have a Quinny Buzz 3 and as far as I know, it's not good for newborns. I bought a separate dreami bassinet for LO to sleep in until he's like 4 months then he can use the seat. They have to lie flat on their back so even if the seat reclines it's not flat enough IMO. HTH.

I've been seeing mine every 2 weeks since week28 then she said from week 36 I will see her every week. I will be 36 weeks next week. I can't believe LO is almost full term. :)

Bunintheoven - You can get cabriofix from babyshop or mothercare. I got mine from babyshop when they had the weekend sale, the colors available are not good though so I ended up with a walnut brown. Regarding hospital bag, I packed long sleeved with closed feet babygros/sleepsuits and some short sleeved as well in case LO likes to be swaddled at least it won't be too hot for him. April is like the beginning of summer so I'd say go for short sleeved clothes especially if they will be swaddled. I'm looking forward to breastfeeding as well. Did you buy a breastfeeding pillow? I read online that it really helps a lot especially for FTM. I'm still thinking about which one to get, boppy or the brestfriend pillow. Any advice from the La Leche League which one is better than the two? Or are they the same and it just depends on your preference? LO is head down at the moment, but my dr said he could still turn anytime. So don't worry I'm sure your baby could still turn in the next few weeks. Best of luck x

Hi lovely April ladies. We've been very quiet this past week, I guess everyone is just very excited, myself included! :D Lucky you Hiccup and Max, I got like 4 lines of stretch marks under my big belly and I'm sure more will come. But I don't really mind tbh, it will always remind me of my pregnancy and how wonderful it is (was). I got diagnosed with low amniotic fluid during week 34 so no exercise for me. Just light walking. I have 6 weeks left too!!! Longest 6 weeks of my life if you ask me. I got everything ready for LO, even hospital bag is packed. Lol. Hiccup - Would giving him a second name be ok? Like let's say your husband's name is Patrick, name your LO - Patrick Albert :)) So then you can call him Albert but he still has your DH name. I have nothing against the name Albert either, I just couldn't think of any other name right now so I apologize in advance. :D Good luck to all of us. xxx

So here I am, lying on my bed, smiling and laughing by myself while I watch my tummy move. :) This is indeed my most favorite part of being pregnant, knowing he's healthy and feeling my LO inside my tummy.
