Hi Mols, they are just a holder for the chain of the roller curtain. Install it in the wall high so he can not get it...when you need to open and close just take it down then put it back. This is the only way of keeping the cord away from the little ones that i know of. I saw it int he BeSafe store so i bought them. Maybe there is other ways but this all i saw.

Hi ladies, I was at city yesterday and asked Dr.Elsa old nurse Marylou....how? Where? Google? She said she does not know and Elsa has a new nurse...i went ans asked her she said she can not disclose anything as it takes business from City. Not helpful I know! I gave up and am using Dr.Jennifer ( i found her lovely - shes high risk too) Good luck with tracking Elsa down, i heard at the hospital the clinic will be open in March and it will have Dr.Elsa in the name!

Hi Marroosh, when i was reading your post i remembered when i could eat everything and crisps ohhh they were my 1st go to. Of course go get your health checked out, i figured out i was eating a multi vitamin in the day or morning and this opened my appetite, also certain vitamin b's make you so hungry. Now multi vitamin is closer to bed time as per recommendation by nurtitionist. Also have celery and carrot sticks, veggies cut up in the fridge and use a little dip ( low fat). Good luck.

Hi BR, Happy new years best wishes. Yes i saw the gulfnews write up on them. There is a thread on it too...i did not bother to look as there are so many bad vibes from trolls on here..you can tell by the thumbs down. (Pointless) Its a good service I think for who needs it. I still did not find a suitable nanny seems the hunt is tedious for a good caregiver.

Hi, i just went for 2 large sofas from Indigo Living...not same style of course but nice enough all uphostered. I heard that AJ Design in al Quoz can make rosewood furniture but I personally have not seen the results to recommend them. For the Ralph Lauren furniture I bought it from Harvey Nic's on sale so I am happy with this. I did go take a peak at Bloomingdales ( Dubai Mall) and they have some nice pieces sofas, chairs in American brands at reasonable prices. It may be worth going in and taking a look.

Hi LB, I went shopping in Abdul Kader 1 year back so not so up to date. I found a beautiful Drexel Heritage set 3 seater and 2 chairs the cost was aed 110,000 i bit my lip. Called store in Canada got a quote For the same seat ( custom price) it turned out to be 3 times more expensive here. I never went back and bought furniture from somewhere else. Furniture is good quality but huge mark up which I refuse to pay but many do.

Just a quick update..I spoke to City yesterday..Marylou whom is Dr.Elsa's nurse is back January 6. So I guess we will only hear where Dr.Elsa is and what her new year plans are then. I know its a bit stressful and confusing. I will update if i hear anything else.

Hi funnylady, Meadows is a great community, Spinneys, McDonalds, Hayaa club etc. Meadows 9 is a bit of. Walk for him especially for 6 months of the year its HOT. If i was you I would be searching for Meadows 5 or 6 they are closest to the community stores/ center. That is if you do not want to be driving him to where he may want to go meet a friend. ***Also the villas are getting old (10 years ) be sure to check the villa out very well ie. Plumbing, AC, sewage, water tank cleaning etc. Enjoy

I have the clear blue fertility monitor from usa...its digital is this the one you mean? If ao i just bought a box from usa 2 months ago and well fell pregnant before i had to even start the machine...if your interested let me know. I did not find them anywhere in uae.

Hi, i delivered with Dr.Elsa 1 year ago she is great no fuss kind of doctor. I will go to her again for the upcoming baby, because i know the routine and City hospital was clean and comfortable and i know what to expect. I can not comment on the others maybe others can. As for questions, write them down and bring them to your appointment. City does walk through on Fridays its nice to get a inside look, i suggest you and dh go and this will tell you if your comfortable or not. Congrats and best wishes

Hi babyrasha, yes I contacted them and they were quick to call with all the information. Its a new service and i think it is wonderful for working parents as it lets them watch the footage and it is a monitored service so there is mom's monitoring the camera feed( babysitting the nanny). There is only 3 cameras depending on the internet speed that raised a big issue with me. I dont think it will work for me as I am a stay at home mom and there is no need for the monitoring for now unless i would start to work. Its a different set up, you basically rent the cameras they place in your home for a monthly fee incl. the monitoring. There is a instalation fee. I think its great but not for me now so in the new year i will be buying a whole camera system all over the house. And i have been told to make sure there is a camera in the kitchen, this is where alot of concerning things happen.

I have had the same problem for years here, I found Meroe in Al Barsha( aed 350 approx) on UMM Sequim rd. but to be honest they are thin. Bloomingdales has them but they are a small fortune aed1000+. 200x 200 deep pocket.

Hi goku, Yes in Jumeirah there is a small shop in the Jumeriah plaza/ center i think its called SEW?...where tim hortons/ johnny rockets is. They usually take 20 minutes if its a small job. I always get all my embroidery done with them.

Hi my mom used Taylor at Al Shunnar plastic surgery. They look all natural, she will color them and show you a test to see if your happy. Just be up front with what your after ie. natural look etc. she is professional.

Surprised at people on here that dislike the idea of cameras! I for one know that there is reasons stores and hospitals etc. have cameras....to watch whats going on to make sure people know they are being watched. If i am at work i need to know if the nanny is good with my child, if she can think she will think twice about hitting or other horrible things knowing i can see the evidence. All the stories my doctor told me on saturday were in the arabic newspaper in the last 4 months and they were disturbing and shocking and " the nanny was loved by all of the families" so if you think you have the best nanny and trust there is always room to have a quick view of some footage then carry on with a smile if you like what you saw! My 1 year old has bruises from bumping into things as she starts walking so you can not blame a bruise on her caregiver! Babyrasha i am with you god forbid anyone do harm to my child... Moral of the story i think its a good back up to confirm or give yourself a birds eye on the childs day.

Sounds like you live in marina or like....when i lived there i used home maids...its a hit and miss but maryvick was good. 2 hours everything done. I use dubai houskeeping now recommended by beebers...but they do min 4 hours so not good for you. Thankyou to beebers for my new maid..love her!

Stix i was thinking about your post, the closest thing for wash i use is DR.Beckman Hygiene white from the store. I use thai for our whites and baby clothes....would love to know if anything else on the market. I also bleach my washing machine on empty cycle 1 per week. Watching your post.

My famous go to recipe in a hurry....umm ali is delicious but full of calories. Take 5 very large plain croissants, torn into pieces, sprinkle with pistachio nuts and blanched chopped almonds, a small handful of raisins and placed into an ovenproof dish. In a pot heat 3 cups milk, 1 cup cream and 1 small tin sweetened condensed milk. When hot, add 1/3 cup rose water. ( optional) Then pour over croissants. Put into a hot oven till golden on top. Mmm just thinking about it.
