Hi FrancieBrady In my experience the markets are Germany are better than those elsewhere in Europe. I haven't been to Copenhagen sorry.

Hi all I have just gone to reserve a table at AtMosphere. Don't particularly like the place but it's better than At The Top again with visitors. Only the minimum spend is showing as AED300pp in the lounge - at a non window seat. That's an awful lot for a couple of soft drinks per person! I'm sure when I went before it was only about AED50 more than an At the Top ticket.

Hi I know at least 5 people of a similar age working within the financial/banking sector here in Dubai. And they love it. But they came, at least initially with their existing UK employer. One with HSBC and another with standard chartered as examples. If you can Zara29078, that's the way in I think you'd be best considering.

I've challenged this before. Because certainly in the UK they would weigh first and then package it. But that's because the way legislation is in the UK. It's different here and they can do what they want. And they aren't for changing! Have you also noticed in a fish restaurant where you pay by weight, the weigh the fish before it's deboned, filleted or top and tailed? Again in the UK you would only pay for what was served.

You'll need to have the right software to open the file. You might need to download something. Google will help.

Not what you want to hear pmd, but I don't think she should be allowed to appeal. If you are speeding you are speeding and in any other country, even if the marking had just changed, the fine would still be applied. I would say an appeal is for when you could prove you were not speeding not just to get out of paying a fine.

It will be hotter again in October. Probably the same as Dubai. The reason to go in summer months is because unlike UAE it cools off a little and it's really comfortable.

An alternative view... How many people are there in the office. Whilst I agree it's very strange that they don't want to pay for a very inexpensive service, it's also true than in small offices in Europe the team would often clean themselves. Maybe the pointed looks are because you are the person raising the issue rather than him wanting you to have the responsibility?

I need someone to do a repair. We spent what I consider to be a fortune on a lovely sofa from Marina Exotic in Feb2013. I only decided to do something about it in May, so outside of a 12 month manufacturer warranty, but it is terribly made. There are only 2 of us, and like many people do, we tend to sit in the same two seats. But it's pretty much collapsed. Now I am not saying we are modelesque, but we certainly aren't so heavy that this should happen. I have a similar design Barker and Stonehouse sofa in UK for 10 years and was in better condition than this one after 12 months!

I was just going to say something similar to Ohman. Whilst the kids are happy and settled I can see why a huge strain to move them. But I know lots of families who have made the move and it's worked out well for them. Its a life experience for children that cannot be taught and serves them well in adult life. A strong, together family will let through most things, including a change of schools. But even the strongest of relationships will feel the strain of separation over time.

It can be done. But 1 way rentals are always more expensive as are cross border rentals. I would suggest you contact one of the big companies as Cornish Pixie says or a travel agent.

Hi I don't know if I could say you "should" have reported it. But I would have done. Shoplifting like this pushes the prices up for all of us. I don't know about you but I really resent paying considerably more for brands here than I did in my own country. If putting a stop - or at least reducing theft will bring prices down I am all for it.

I've just had a fabulous ring done by Passion. It did cost me more than I expected. But it's beautiful. And before it was actually made they did me a wax model. I didn't know what to expect with that but as soon as I saw it, I could visualize the ring properly knowing I could confidently give the go ahead to proceed.

I don't know of any websites where you will track down an All Inclusive deal specifically. Why don't you use a travel agent? Me and my friends have used Sarah at Travel Counsellors loads now and she's always really helpful and gets good deals.

I'm not going to pay that much! I have guests arriving next week. Normally take my visitors to Atmosphere but I guess I need to find a new place to 'wow' them.

Hi A couple of weeks ago Sarah at Travel Counsellors sent out an e-mail to customers telling them about passport office issues and getting everyone to apply as early as possible because of the delays. It's a particular issue for new children's applications apparently. She told me that there have been quite a lot of people in England missing out on their holidays because of it.

Silvstet, are the outlets meant to work for home delivery too? I always thought they were only good for eating in (unless it stated take-away) so have always paid full price for delivery. I feel cheated!

Sorry to give contrary view but I would hate to be in Girders upstairs in Ocean View hotel on my own. The only 2 times I've been through it was full of lots of very boisterous blokes so I would feel uncomfortable. I've waited for a friend in The Agency at Madinat before now and as pollydxb1 states, the staff looked after me. I'd also be ok I think at Dhow and Anchor at JBH.

Hi I stayed there a few weeks ago. It's a lovely small hotel. We got there just in time for brunch. It was very quiet so not much of an atmosphere. We sat outside and watched the people in the canoes etc which was lovely. Very tranquil. The spread and quality was excellent and the service was good. We would happily go back. I don't know if you are a drinker? I went for a champagne package, but if I am honest, very surprisingly for me, I preferred the prosecco which is considerably cheaper. Not sure if you have been before, and sorry if you are already aware, I wasn't. The service charge is added on to the bill in AD unlike here where it's included in the bill. So each check we signed felt expensive compared with here, including brunch. I can't help with shisha I am afraid. One last thing, if you haven't booked yet give Sarah at Travel Counsellors a call. She got us a much better rate than I was about to pay with bookings.com.

Hi Frandaw46 I agree with Tru Blu and foolnightsleep, the cover letter isn't really as important as a strong CV. Just make sure it stands out from 'the crowd' in the first paragraph or two. If you've already been offered an interview this is way more important than any letter.

Hi I have had guests here recently and was having the same quandary. I found that the minimum cover charge in Atmosphere also applies to children and as other have said, you need to book early as the window tables get booked weeks in advance.

Hi simpleasabc I have been twice. Not from UAE though it was when I was in UK. It was incredible for kids of all ages. The second time I stayed in a hotel which was great. But the first time I was in a hotel which was made up of lots of little wooden cabins each with their own sauna and wet room. I think that was in Levi. From memory all of the resorts are just a short ride away from the Santa Village.

Hi I have just taken a delivery from Centaurus because the last time I went to Barracuda I got stuck in traffic (Wednesday eve after work) for over 2 hours. For that reason Centaurus gets my vote unless I'm headed to RAK for a day.

Tatters that's brilliant. Thankyou. And I called them. It's AED50. And you can stay as long as you like so if there is a film and football in the same day, you can watch both for AED50.

Welcome to Dubai MrsM1222 I've been here 11 months myself and found that whilst it was quite daunting at first to walk into a group of people, once the first couple of coffee mornings and social meet ups were done it got much easier. I' m not sporty but lots of people also find friends at the gym or sports clubs.
