I have recently used Move One to relocate my belongings to Singapore and I found them very professional and efficient.

I got my puppy 5 years ago from the pet shop in Al Quoz, the animals in there seemed very well looked after and clean. He was fully vaccinated and micro chipped and his passport said he had a clean bill of health. He has been brilliant, a real pleasure. I tried the K9 option first before buying him, but unfortunately the first dog we had from K9 snapped at everyone as they walked past in the house and had to be returned after a week, I was then told I should never have been given that dog as I had children!! The second dog bit my 84 year old mother in law on the face as she bent in to stroke him, unfortunately the vet said he then had to be put down as he was unpredictable and as I had children I could not take the chance. I know you take a chance when rehoming, as you do not know the history of the dog and I am in full support for the work K9 does, but sometimes this is not the best option for people.

I asked my insurance company (Axa) a while ago and they said the answer was no. Even if they had said yes, I am not sure I would have trusted the answer. Trouble is out here is that you can ring the company twice, speak to two different people and get two different answers!! Would not be comfortable in the event of an accident. Best way is to rent a hire care, then you know they are covered 100 %.

My daughter has been seeing Dr Saji (orthodontist) at The Cedars hospital in Jebel Ali. He is a very nice man, great with kids. I also pay him monthly everytime she goes to have her braces tightened (his suggestion, not mine). Would highly recommend him.

I don't like the beige, too bland. Makes the whole page look very 'wishy washy' and dull.

M - I would love the details of the endocrinology centre please. Sibilla - Dr Baha at City Hospital is the Endocrinologist I see too. Very good I think. edited by Poohbear on 30/01/2011

Thanks for sharing quizzme. I too have been taking medication, but it has again today been increased as still not high enough to control the thyroid. I have a large goiter which is supressing the gland and therefore that is why it is not functioning correctly. Dr says the other option of radioactive iodine is not suitable for me due to the size of the goiter as would need a high dose and side effects are not so good. Guess it is the operation then. x

If so, did you have it done here or in your home country? Anyone have any feedback for Dr Ameen of City Hospital. I need a full thyroid removal due to overactive thyroid and would be grateful for any advice.

Saw some yesterday at Matalan, Lancy Plaza, oven gloves and tea towels. They were on sale too. Not sure about the quality, guess that is personal choice.

I actually think Dog City would be a good idea: one residential complex where all dogs are welcome. i believe it's somewhere in Essex...... lolol Little unnecessary, don't you think? Why do threads on here always end up with insults?

I got sent over to be scanned when I arrived back the other day. I didn't have anything that I shouldn't have and the guys who did the scanning asked no questions and didn't even seem bothered to be checking the screen. Just rescanned, reloaded and I was off.

I got coke at the small Spinneys on Meadows yesterday and saw some in Choitram, Springs today. It was near the counter in Choitram though and not with the other drinks.

We have had no landline for 4 weeks thanks to DU, bills all paid and up to date. They have filed numerous 'complaints', I have spent hours on the phone, yet still not working. Broadband is ok. DH going to try again today.
