Just read it and means that the person with the card eats free if there is a full paying person with them..hence 50% discount..So not off full table bill Well spotted and its just my husband and I so yes 50% off the bill between us, if there are more people dining with you then it still only applies to the two of you or its a sliding scale, don't know as we only go on our own!

Thanks Quicksilver6, will have a look at this. Is it just a discount off brunches or if you go to any of the restaurants at any time (at any Rotana) 50% as well? Any Rotana - not just brunches but we have used it at other Rotana's in different restaurants, evening meals etc. - you also accrue points, so if you stay at Rotana hotels, you get points but we just mainly use it for the food/brunches!! enjoy!

That's true, I was probably thinking about buy five coffees get one free, stamp on the card, Jumeriah Sirius, Nail Spa points, Amber Points, that sort of thing :) Is the 800dhs a one off payment or every year? edited by Pomegranate on 06/02/2011 Its every year but OMG its worth it. Pay 850 - get 250 back in voucher to spend where-ever = 600 - at 199 AED each at the brunches, you would only need to go 3 times to re-coup you money back! then like I said every time you go, flash you card at any Rotana and you get 50% off the bill. I love to save a few bucks or two and this is perfect for us!!

Sounds like a good deal, but isn't it a bit weird that you have to pay for their loyalty card?! Most shops and restaurants will happily give them for free! Well, you can't just join it, not pay anything and then expect 50% off the bill every time you go - I don't know of any hotel chains that do that!

Totally agree, I used to feel the need to go to M&S but the ranges of clothes and underware is so disappointing. Can't wait to go back to Uk this year - haven't been back for over 2 years now and I'll certainly go to the big one I know off!

One of the best, IMO, is Pergolas at Murooj Rotana... AED199, great food and nice atmosphere. One thats a bit "livelier is Grand Grill at Grand Habtoor. Not to say that Pergolas is quiet...Its not, and particularly if you pop down to Double Deckers afterwards....lol HTH hey captainjacky - hats our favorite too, especially if you have joined Rotana and have the card, its 199 total for the two of us! we love it! Ooh, not got the card.... Tell me more!! But still cracking value, as like you say it includes alcohol. Went again on Friday.... Still feel a bit dodgy now!!!! lol We have done the card 2 years running now, basically the upfront cost is 850 or 800 and afew days later you get your card through the post and also a voucher for (i think) 250 - now if you were to do brunch or any other meal in any Rotana, then its basically 50% off - you need to go about 6 times and then the freebies really kick in - sometimes after being a member for a while, they give vouchers for money off. We've spoken to Rotana staff before saying what a great deal it all is and they totally agree! so although there is the intial outlay, if you know your going to use it even once a month then it more than pays for itslef - do the math! then get one!!

I use helping hands, they are pretty efficient at ironing and cleaning - it works for me as I don't need a minimum of 4 hours like most of the agencies dictate to you! they are 25dhs per hour 04 331 1918

hi quicksilver, we live iin JI, I have a dreadful gardener, is your's fulltime? Hiya, he comes sun, tues & thurs and is there for about 30-45 mins. The boss man is Aziz 050 873 4643, obviously you can have him for more days but more money - they also do the pools which I am going to try from March. Good luck!

I live in JI and my gardener was recommended on here some time ago when I asked and I have to say, he is so good. I pay 300pm x 3 visits per week and for the first few months he started cutting all the trees to a manageable level and keeps them trimmed so neatly, he rakes, and the grass is always cut, he spends time getting weeds out of the grass etc etc. when I have asked him to do a little more, I give him a little money but he always gets a tip every month. I know his first name as I have spent time talking to him in the past and he always respects me and our privacy.

I've only been to Irufushi myself but the Trip Advisor website has a really good Maldives forum. If you post your question on there i'm sure you'll get a few helpful replies. Thank you, I didn't know trip advisor had a forum! Cheers!

[b'>[/b'>The company gives us a cheque for a year's rent. It's up to us to use it however we want. We are expected to cover DEWA from the housing allowance. Company pays school fees at any school in Dubai we choose, but not seat deposits (don't ask, it's unique to the American School of Dubai). If we had teenagers, the company would also contribute to boarding school tuitions up to $25K USD per child a year. One company car - a Prado. We get 2 x sets of flights home a year. We are on one income. Are they a myth or a reality? Do you get an allowance for rent and schooling? Or Does the company cover rent/schooling completely? Do you & your OH (other half) both work or is there only one income? What is your gross monthly income? 0 - 20,000 20,001 - 40,000 40,001 - 60,000 60,001 - 80,000 80,001 - 100,000 Above 100,000 edited by Tallybalt on 23/01/2011 That's pretty good tallybalt...

If you are looking for another place to rent it still comes down to us lot to drive the rent down as much as possible and I know that some people just accept what the rent is advertised at. You really need to be playing a few properties off each other and not showing any estate agent desperation OR believe what they say. We need to get more bullish in the renters market!!!

Would love to adopt from Vietnam. We don't have any children of our own but it's got to the stage where I am 40 and my husband is 49 and yet I know that we would be great parents. Is there any downsides to our ages? Does any one know how long the process can take and money involved? Has anyone adopted recently and would like to share their story? Thank you.

I saw a maid this morning walking a black lab (probably a year old), so if the owners are at work, and it was that dog, she may not raise the alarm until they are home (just a thought, if its not been reported already) - hopefully somebody will claim within 24 hours.
