before having the baby i was decided to do hings by the book, to breastfeed for one year and teach him healthy habits etc.....no matter how many breastfeeding counselors i listened to ...it didnt work out....and i guess that's the way it should be......now i am facing this problem of milk refusal....i will probably understand it's reason one day...in the meantime i'll try to keep a posistive attitude , listen to advises and try different things while trying not to transform it into a daily struggle..... THANK YOU ALL :)

My children's British pediatrician is fantastic and a voice of reason. His view is that across the board advice for children to wait until 6 months for solids is ridiculous as all children are different and develop at different rates. Hence some are ready for solids before 6 months, some at 6 months and some after 6 months. If he really doesn't want milk, I would say keep trying occasionally but don't try to force him as a) you won't be able to anyway and b) it will only be upsetting for both of you. If he is drinking water from the bottle that is great, keep it up. Research yourself, and speak to your pediatrician about the best purees you can give him to ensure he is getting adequate nutrients. Interestingly, my little milk refuser is now nearly 2 years old and is on a dairy free diet as dairy gives him awful eczema. So as it turns out, he knew what was best for him, it just took a while for me to listen. Daza, what you are saying is so interesting....i am so frustrated and so worried that he is not drinking the milk ...and who knows....he might be refusing it because its not good for his body......

thank u :) actually we've been seeing dr. sanja in infinity... We've seen 2 pediatricians in the past few years, although my kids were a little older so our issues were a little different - but I would recommend both of them, and if I had another baby wouldn't hesitate to go see either of them - Dr. Loubser at Infinity Clinic - http://www.ihcdubai.com/ and Dr. Keith Nicholl - http://www.keithnicholl.com/
