@Ladybirdie I refused the initial offer and was later offered 21.950QAR + 2000 transport = 24,1950 my application forms was one of the earlier ones back last year summer, a colleague of mine who will be working at the same unit with more experience than me has been offered on 17000, its really not fair but Im assuming perhaps they are keeping their budget tight as everyone is now asking to negotiate. Qatar is expensive try and negotiate gently again, have you tried applying to some of these new hospitals opening soon http://www.arabnursingjobs.com/arab-health-news/inshallah-ten-new-hospitals-opening-soon-in-the-middle-east-2015-and-beyond/

@ RRTNICU I negotiated from 17,000qar to 21.950qars as a british National ......My cousin works for a hospital in Abu dhabi and she advised me to, she said it is quiet hard to find most hospitals in the Middle East offering yearly increment to staff. Hence I pushed gently with them to negotiate and I was offered the raise, because although the salary is generous, living cost in Qatar is very high. So I would say its up to the individual to request for more if you can prove your worth. Dont sell yourself short, if you can explain why they should offer you more then go for it, if not accept what they have offered you.

Hi All, I received my offer I am very pleased that Sidra considered all the points I mentioned. I am really excited. This came in perfect time as I am on vacation in the Bahamas, definitely excited. I would like to know if anyone will be working at the Oncology Inpatient? Good luck all R

Hi @dasni this is before pretax however, most of the time I earned £4900 because I had the opportunity to work some overtime. Unfortunately the home care job I've been offered is a new role and ive been advised there will not be any opportunity to boost my pay with overtime as it will be a fixed office hours job.

Thank you guys, one of my friends have pulled out and refused her offer as she doesn't think it is worth it. I have emailed Sidra and informed them about my pay if they refuse I will decline the offer, because it is not the end of the world, they are not the only facility in the middle east. I managed to get hold of a friend working in another hospital in doha, she states the living cost is high and she is now reconsidering returning back home. she says all produce are shipped in from abroad and simple things like milk is three times the price of what you will find in a UK supermarket. she states you will not be able to save much as everything is expensive, from cinemas, wines and other liqueurs, taxis, restaurants and entertainment will not allow me to save much money as it is too expensive. By the way guys in Sidra's contract, it states clearly that all nurses are not allowed to take leave in the first 6months, I think this is mental people will be home sick etc. anyway I will keep you guys updated if I hear back from Sidra regarding my offer.

Hello - I am a female Canadian Obstetrician considering a job offer at the new Sidra Medical site. Can anyone help me with the following questions ? 1. Is the family housing completed yet ? 2. Is it actually open, or just still a shell ? 3. If it is open, is anyone aware of any other Canadian female physicians working there ? 4. Which hospital do most expats currently go to for their deliveries ? Thanks for your time in advance. Dr. C I stumbled across some information here regarding sidra hospital http://www.arabnursingjobs.com/blog/
