Congrats on your LO. This would be my area of expertise as I now have 3 kids under 5 and I didn't always have help. First thing I'd recommend is you read Gina Fords Contented Little Baby Book. It's awesome for routining and you can always adapt the routine to your needs. Make sure your child is in bed by 7 pm because that will really help you manage everything much better. Gosh there's so much I could tell you! If you're considering nursing exclusively, maybe investing in a good breast pump will help. I stopped expressing a few months ago and unfortunately am running low on milk for my 8month old. You could also consider a crock pot, it's been my life saver since my old maid left as I have food ready at 7am to pack lunch for my daughter, with almost no effort! If you want I could give you my email address for any more details or tips. Good luck and enjoy ur LO. Thank you Ellabella1, will definitely look at reading the book suggested by you. My main concern is if I do get a full time maid, how do you allocate duties and if anyone has gone through and can share their experience. Thank you Bex 1980 - guess that would be the only solution for us too.

Hi Wigman76, I conceived via IVF and cannot praise Dr. Fakih enough! He is one man who knows what he is doing and is confident which may seem curt to some people but it was just clockwork from the time I started the treatment. I too had an ultrasound only and had very bad quality of eggs and was not able to conceive. I had no intention to start and was there for a consultation and before you know the same day I started with my injections as I felt I was in the right place and appreciated his direct approach. Before you know in 20 days post the treatment I was pregnant and now holding my lovely daughter who is 10 days old. I wish you every success and pray you get to also hold your bundle of joy. Please do let me know if you need any information or any guidance. All the best.

Hey Catawba, Don't worry about it, no matter where you go there will be idiots.. also the reason I would never treat a maid here as a nanny- they never take responsibility, because they are taught that means trouble, and dad sounds utterly pathetic.. I'm not sure that it is a maid's place "to take responsibility" when a parent is present -as it would be to ursurp parental authority - surely it is up to the parent to take responsibility for their own child and make their expectations clear to the nanny?? Dear Catawba, Don you feel guilty for a split second! You did the right thing and good for you! It's obvious the maid was acting dumb!!! You did right and should have been a bit hard and left her shaking! What a useless father! Crept away as if the child did a crime, no sense of responsibility and no respect for others! Bottom libe, Am glad you did what you did!

Dear Felix, Hope you are well. I went for my consultation and ended up starting my treatment the same day! dr. Michael did the ultrasound as well I had low reserves of eggs and since I was on my period, he suggested it was the best time to start the treatment so there I was standing getting my shots and was petrified! Actually today is my 4th day and I give the shots myself! Emla helps so not bad at all! Saves me the hassle of running to the clinic, I do it after dinner and it's ok and can take it! Tmrw is my ultrasound to see how I am progressing so will know more tomorrow! I just hope it all ends well! Thank you so much for thinking of me, but I must confess, I get really bad headaches! And can't sleep at night coz of headaches, did u experience any symptoms?

Thank Felix, you give me hope. I have an appointment tomorrow for consultation. Will let you know how it goes. I thought the injections make you very moody due to hormonal change and if you could have the shots during your lunch break, I think I can do it too... Thank you again for your words and sharing your experience.

Hi Felix, thank you sooo much for your response. I am like you and the thought of injections are just driving me insane but I know it's a journey to cherish the most beautiful feeling of entering motherhood. Your story/ experience has given me hope and for that I thank you. Were you working when you did your ivf? My work is pretty hectic and the only way I think I will relax is taking unpaid leave and go thru this treatment! Thank you again, best, Rekhs

Interesting. Never heard of them. But have heard that the pregnancy rates at Fakih IVF are the highest in the region. They have recently posted them on their website (I follow them on Twitter). You can find them here http://fakihivf.com/success-rates/ I was their patient two years ago and achieved a pregnancy from the first time. I was 39 then. I guess if one is really looking to get pregnant, then that's the place to go. My husband and I had done a great deal of research before we decided to visit. The doctor there is called Dr. Michael Fakih who is apparently one of the top fertility doctors in the world. So we heard. Another good thing is you don't need to wait for weeks before you see him. They can give you an appointment really quickly, but when you arrive, you have to wait for at least half an hour before he sees you. Their contact details are on their website http://www.fakihivf.com and I have always recommended them to all my best friends. Dear Felix, I need your input and if the procedure was painful? I am planning to visit the clinic but need to know from someone who has been there as how long the whole procedure takes from the start of injections till the embryos are put back in the womb. Any guidance would be highly appreciated. God bless. edited by Rekhs on 16/04/2012 edited by Rekhs on 16/04/2012
