Hello, I have been living here for years. Dubai is an outstanding city. Also very tempting to make you spend every single penny you have. It all depends on you and what you want to do. The entertainer is a great way to start exploring different restaurants and places in town. They cost around 700 to 900 Dirhams, but you get loads of buy 1 get 1 free vouchers. Night life also varies from one place to another. Dubai can be as cheap or as expensive as you make it. I have managed to save quite some money when i needed to, and i still used to go out. But, it is difficult to do this when you are new in town and wanted to see around and enjoy the city. All the best. Its a good move and hopefully you will like it :)

I bought my Sealy mattress from a new shop on Umm Suqeim Road called MEROE - the bed boutique. They have the biggest collection of mattresses, bed linen, pillows, toppers...etc. They also customized my headboard. They are great. Also, checkout The One and Crate and Barrel.

I tip only whenever i feel the person is doing something special or going an extra mile. If they are doing their day to day work, then i don't see a need for doing this. If they assist me with a lot of bags from the supermarket, then, yes, it makes sense. Laundry delivery and supermarket delivery is also something i tip.

Checkout the Interior Design Courses. A friend of mine did it in one of the universities in Dubai and she had so much fun. She started applying for ID jobs now. Sounds fun!

One idea is The Abu Dhabi City Golf Club. Iftar for AED 75 for set menu and barbeque :) Quite a good deal!

I think this is depending on what your doctor says. That is not based on experience as each one of us has her own case. You should check with him/her.

The cheapest place to get this fixed is Computer Mall in Bur Dubai (Bank Street). It is behind bank street. The whole street there is mainly for computer suppliers. You can buy a charger too for a much cheaper price compared to MOE and Dubai Mall prices.

Another option for you is to have a waterproof mattress protector. This shouldn't allow any water to get to your mattress in case the water breaks at night.

I have personally used Jim Will Fix It. They are good. British owned and very reliable. Good luck!

Hi, I bought a shaggy carpet from The One a couple of years ago. It was shedding like crazy. I used to vacuum every day (sometimes twice). After a couple of weeks, I gave up and took it back. They gave me a hard time to return it as i didn't have the invoice anymore (never thought I would return it). But, finally, they agreed to give me a credit note. I think you can replace it if it is still annoying you. They should accept it back.

Hello, I live in The Greens which is 5 mins away. The area is great and highly recommended. It is quite central and Mall of the Emirates (one of the best shopping malls in Dubai) is a couple of minutes drive. Umm suqeim road is also close by and there is loads of new shops opening (mainly for furniture and beds).
