A close family friend recently delivered a baby girl. She was born in the sixth month. The past few weeks have been very challenging for the new parents.
The baby is currently admitted in Saudi German Hospital. Insurance covers only the first month of her stay at the NICU. The doctors want to keep her there until they are confident of having her transferred to another hospital like Latifa (where costs are capped). Naturally, once insurance runs out costs are going to escalate. The new parents are hoping to find a contact at Saudi German Hospital who can help give them further discounts in the event that they might have to foot the entire two months bill by themselves.
Since they are close friends of mine I am reaching out on support groups or to fellow preemie parents in case they would have any contacts or can refer me to someone who would. Any kind of advice would be really useful.
