Hi Sherryf1 .... thank you very much for your confirmation ... I was concerned as the Consulate would not respond to my actual queries but kept saying its all related to the expiry date which told me nothing! My visa is valid until the end of year ... so this trip is well covered. :-).

Would any one know how are the dates on the Schengen "C" visa calculated ... I have confusing!! responses from the Embassy -) does the 90 days stay per 180 days commence from date of entry into the Schengen country (i.e. issued in Jan 2012 - I travel in March for 45 days - is the 180 days calculated from March 2012 or from Jan 2012?) or -) is the visa valid for a 90 days stay - each 180 days - from the date of issue (ie if my valid visa was issue in Jan 2012 - are the 90 days calculated per 180 calender days from Jan to June 2012?) I am confused and can not seem to get a 'firm' response from the embassy!

Just email the ERES Customer Support on "[email protected]" and they will sort out the problem for you. I had a problem with registration and they were extremely efficient and yes! spoke perfect English :-) edited by Ros on 08/02/2012

Does anyone know for a fact - legally who has to pay the housing fee - landlord or tenant? Thanks!

Ros, You need to lodge a complaint, you need to take the bounced check information to the Bur Dubai Police station, your passport, your tenancy contract and any other supporting documentation including the proof you have of trying to contact him. Giving him the benefit of the doubt isn't really necessary anymore, as the check has bounced and he is un-contactable. Besides, you can drop the case if he pays you the money, or if he's detained, he just has to pay you and you can then drop the case as well. Good luck Thank you AdviceSeeker; I will take the mentioned documents and approach the Bur Dubai station.

if he's always been a good payer and this is a one off, can you give him the benefit of the doubt for a few days whilst you try to reach him? I did Kelly! At his request I held the cheque for a month and sent him numerous email reminders that I need to present the cheque and was it ok to; did not any response. Now I have a bounced chq + outstanding bills!

I highly doubt he will ever return to Dubai. However, you need to file a police report to ensure that if he does return you may get your money. He will return as he has business connections here and still operates from Dubai. How does one go about lodging a complaint or what is the procedure.
