Hi please can anyone advice on this work matter or lack of work in my case, How do I apply and get a job in Dubai no one seems to hire or interview even? I apply online to all the job sites even contact company's directly, do I have to walk in to these places? Direct approach uninvited? As my applying online isn't working I have lots of experience and qualifications in management, hospitality and child care and with good references I'm from the UK moved to Dubai and cannot find anyone to interview me and really need to work to support myself now. How do you ladies apply for jobs? I greatly appreciate all advice and opinions  Its all who you know here, get out there and start networking...also pop into office and drop off your cvs in person, the job i have not they werent even advertising....good luck

for the private sector it has already been declared as 1st and 2nd day of Shawal... which can be either of the two following scenarios: - if the fast only lasts 29 days, then this will result in the holiday being Tuesday (5th) and Wednesday (6th) - if the fast lasts for the full 30 days, then this will result in a four day weekend for most as the holiday will be Wednesday (6th) and Thursday (7th) Thanks, so still not too sure

Hey guys I need jaw surgery done and was wondering if any of you can suggest some good oral surgeons here in UAE?? If you or someone you know had surgery done, plss share your doctor/experience! Dr Hani at Medcare is the excellent, he lectures a lot around the world and found him to be very professional. I only saw him for wisdom teeth extraction but I know he works with children doing jaw surgery. http://www.medcare.ae/en/physician/view/hani-abdul-salam.html

Hi Ladies, I am looking for a recommendation for a good GP who will take time to listen and do a thorough health check. I'm generally feeling unwell but cant pinpoint what is wrong. Every time I go to the doctor I'm handed a prescription for antibiotics which I feel are not helping. I would greatly appreciate any feedback and or recommendations of a great GP. TIA Definitely, Dr Mohammed Al Yasiry, the most thorough doctor I have ever seen. at dr nicolas and asp marina

Hi. I was wondering if someone knows of a Personal Trainer who specialises in training someone who has a bad back or has experience with this. I used to train regularly in the gym with weights and do classes but have been suffering with a bad back (nothing serious, SI joint L4 L5 inflammation) but haven't been able to do anything for 2 years. I have also tried Pilates but found that painful....not sure if I should start that again. Would love to get back into shape and thinking if I had a Personal Trainer it might push me a little. Would welcome any feedback. Thanks I would not see a personal trainer for this, I highly recommend Kris Rai at California chiropractic center, dhcc. he is a osteopath from the uk but a movement and exercise specialist. he will watch you exercise do and correct the way you move when you exercise to help your condition too but helping you get more healthy too. he is amazing, and does some wonderful things. http://www.californiachiropracticcenter.com/clinic_staff/kris-rai/

Hi everyone! I need surgery for fibroids again :-( only 4 months after my surgery I had them back and Dr. Hafeez was not in Dubai anymore. I also remember asking him about this same situation happening and he laughed it off saying it was very unlikely. One of the big reasons I chose him was because he said he would do a UAL (I think this is the name), some clipping of arteries and that it would prevent recurring fibroids but I later found out I never had that done, my DH & I were lied to. These new set of fibroids have me sick with anemia. I am looking for a doctor that will use my old surgery scars. Dr Brittany at mediclinic DHCC removed mine. Over 13 of them, she is v good..

Does plastic/glass/paper really get recycled in Dubai? I am honestly a bit skeptical about it, considering you don't see poor people collecting these recyclables, which usually a sign of it really working in most countries. When I am trying to be environment-conscious and separate my garbage, is it really supported? Anyone knows for sure? I heard the poor bin men, have to sort through everything

Hello Sophie, thanks a lot. I would like to highlight that I'm talking about medical doctors and chiropractors (also called doctors of chiropractics). Chiros are given the title by courtesy, and they cannot prescribe medication. There is fundamental difference between a real medical doctor's training (based on proven science) and chiropractic training (mostly based on pseudoscience !) The basic principle of chiropractic is based on subulaxation, which has never been proven. The founder of chiropractic himself was a .... magnetic healer. If you've been to a Chiropractor before, please share your experience (how often do you see them? were you on some treatment plan?Did they ask you to come the next day after your first visit? how much it costs?, etc...). Thanks heaps. Hi, Jumeirah Jane. I see Dr Charles and Dr Sean at California Chiropractic Center in healthcare city. I think they both wonderful, Dr Charles was the first chiropractic I saw 7yrs ago and I believe he was actually the first chiropractic in Dubai. I suffer from sciatica and neck pain due to my job so I visit him every few months to get adjusted and it keeps the pain away. I personally found this the best for me as I would spend a fortune on physiotherapy which relieved some of the pain but it never went away completely but with my adjustments and a bit of physiotherapy I don't need to see anyone for months. When I was younger in the UK, orthopedics would just prescribe me all sort of medication like muscle relaxants which got rid of the pain but did not fix my problem. I had to recently see Dr Sean for another injury in my lower back and he was very good, seems to be very experienced too. I have never been given a treatment plan by either, they both said to me when I have seen them to see how I go, I started seeing Dr Charles every week initially but that was for only for a short time, I did used to ask him how many sessions I needed and he could never say, I don't think these sort of doctors can because everyone is different some people feel better after one visit and some many more. A session cost 420dhs and it includes some physiotherapy also. The ladies that do the massages are really good too,This clinic has an excellent reputation in Dubai, I was recommended to see Dr Charles by friends of mine, who now live in Abu Dhabi and they travel down to see only him still. I can not recommend the clinic enough. Maybe you could try call the clinic and get some advise, the staff are very nice and seem always willing to help. All the best

Have you been to see a good dentist and hygienist? This can be very common and they should all know how to treat it. Was all set to book a surprise couples massage for our anniversary at Talise Madinat Jumeirah but just found out they have a strict same-gender masseuse policy which my DH is not comfortable with. I have checked with Anantara /Waldorf /sofitel all have the same policy. I know Amara at the Park Hyatt doesn't have this policy but since we've been before would like to try some where different. I have Shuiqi at Atlantis short listed any other suggestions much appreciated. My husband took me to Talise spa for a couple massage last year and we both had female therapist. So, that is strange, Dessert palm do one and they allow female masseurs. Kempski on the palm also do. Shangri la on sheikh zayed road do too. As you can tell, we do lots of couple massages  If you going during the week make sure you check out week day discounts. Shangri la was my favourite, they therapist are very good and if you have a spa tx you can use the pool which has nice food and pool bar

Okay, so I don't have insurance (yet!) and I will be paying out of pocket. BUT I'm desperate! Doxycycline helped me for a while but when I stress (as I have been doing lately) my pimples flare up again. They're all around my cheek/chin/lowerjaw. So ugly and painful. Has anyone been to a dermatologist who has prescribed them roaccutane? How much was the cost of consultation/blood tests? I know it has major side effects, but I'm so over it, i'm ready to try it. I went on roaccutane when I was 20 and it was the only thing that worked for me. My acne has never come back. I tried so many things before that did nothing. I was on it for 3mnths and there are side effects, like depression, I did suffer from mood swings while on it and it made my skin and lips very dry. If you are fed up with your acne, its totally worth it. I would wake up in the morning after the treatment and could not believe my spots had finally gone. I was treated by a doctor in UK for this years ago but I have seen Dr Christina Engman for other things, she is now at Irish Medical Clinic,

Hello Ladies, Was hoping you can give me some suggestions. I'm looking for good full coverage foundation that's not cakey on the face. If that's possible! What brand do you use that you can recommend? Don't mind spending a bit, but not an arm and a leg. Using a BB cream now but feel I've not been matched properly as I cover so the lady obviously could not see my neck. TIA! I love benefit oxygen foundation, lots of my friend use it. Its super light and the coverage is amazing. And, its not expensive. Not sure how dark or light you are but I use champagne colour, I am quite fair but when I have a tan I put bronzer over it. You must always blend you makeup with bronzer especially onlong the jaw line and neck ;-)

Hello, I've been thinking about this for over 4 months and now finally & i hardly told my mom today about my depression and that I really need to seek help before i attempt another move of ending my life. So I'm looking for a psychiatrist in dubai, gender doesnt matter as long as they are sympathetic and kind and easy to communicate with Preferably western *i'm an arab* I just feel more comfortable around westerners. Thank you Hi, Blindingstorm. I am so sorry to hear you are feeling like this. You must speak with someone today, dont waste anymore times dealing with this on your own. Remember you are not the only one dealing with this sort of problem, one in three people suffer from mental health problems and with the right care and if its dealt with early you will continue to live a great life. Dealing with thoughts and worries on your own can cause depression. I highly recommend German Neuroscience Clinic in Healthcare city, their doctors are very nice and experienced, Dr Diana or Dr Kennon. http://www.gncdubai.com/ All the best, hope you feel better soon.

Hello Ladies, In my company, every month there is a company lunch arranged my a few staff. Suddenly i now have to arrange for this Thursday ??? Criteria.....budget is 850aed, buffet style for 35 people and to reflect your own countries food. And no oven, just a small microwave. Previously there have been BBQs and last month was an Indian take away. I am British, but cant think what decent English food would work......x Ideally would have hot main course take away and i can make deserts. All suggestions greatly appreciated. Eat and Drink, food is delicious and very cheap, you should definitely be able to feed that many people with that amount.
