I have visitors in town next week. I would like to take them to a typical fabulous Dubai restaurant. I live in Umm Suqeim so something closer to 'new' Dubai than the creek. As it's still summer, there must be some super special deals. Any suggestions pls? The shangri la always have good deals on. http://www.shangri-la.com/dubai/shangrila/offers/section/dining/

Hi, Hubby had a back problem. Two years ago, we went to Saudi German hospital. After the MRI, it was found that he has a minor bulge in L4/S1. He went through physiotherapy and was fine. 3 days ago, while I was delivering our second baby, he had severe pain in his back. Really bad time :( I myself can't move and he is also having severe pain. Any good doctors here? He wants to go to USA but it would be a long flight + it would be really difficult for me to take care of two kids without him Get your husband to see a chiropractic, my friend has a disc bulge and i took her to see my chiropractic and he said they only way to get that out is with decompression therapy...its like a bed that stretches you, she was so much better after a few sessions and she could barely walk before. we see dr sean miner at California chiropractic center in healthcare city. i have also see dr charles there too, he is very good also.

I dont think there is, if you have lots of stuff to be taken away. Take my junk [email protected] will collect for you but you have to leave a small donation, they recycle things. But, the general bottles, can etc you have to take to the bin normally at local stores. We take our to Geant in Arabian ranches.

Good afternoon all beautiful ladies out there. Been willing to post for a while, and reading other threads daily now it is my turn to post. I guess there are many more in my situation out there, working/gym/eat/sleep and that is it. I can honestly tell you my work does not give me any kind of satisfaction as I am doing absolutely nothing 9 hours every day (reception work). After work I usually go to the gym and that is it. Biggest part of my friends circle are all still single and you might know what that means. Clubbing, brunching, ladies night, bars.. well you know something that includes alcohol of food. Which I am getting sooo tired of. It seems like everything here is either surrounded by alcohol or food, and I would love to do something else for once. Some kind of hobby, activity or what so ever to meet other people and be active after sitting on my a** all day ;) Don't get me wrong, i also enjoy a great night out and some lovely food, but there must be so many other things to do here in Dubai, I just don't know what. So what I am basically asking is which kind of activities are there around the city? I live in Down town Dubai (it takes me 20 min to reach home from work) so if there are any evening activities around the area, suggest anything! I am dying of boredom :) Also during weekend, husband is usually working weekends so I need to get out and do stuff.. All help appreciated! xo Why dont you study something? So, you can do a job one day that you really enjoy.

I recently learned that we are supposed to take our babies to the dentist when the first tooth erupts or latest by their first birthday. I'm just wondering if anyone has taken their babies to see a dentist here? How was the experience? I can't imagine the baby sitting still long enough for the dentist to have a look. Also can anyone recommend a peadiatric dentist that has experience and is equipped to see a one year old. TiA. Dr Chantal Kengo is excellent with babies and all children. They just love her. my daughter saw her when she was 1yrs and still does. at michael's pediatric dental clinic on al wasl road. she specializes in kids and babies only.

its ridiculous, they not doing it to be environmentally friendly or encourage people to use public transport. they know they running out of oil so they trying to make as much money as they can.... come on, where are our battery cars...? Sorry but no. Petrol prices here have been unreasonably low due to government subsidy. Especially when the oil prices were $100 and above, the prices here were unsustainably low. People had no idea as to fair petrol prices. By removing the subsidy now, while oil prices are low, they are softening the blow. When oil prices go up, so will our petrol prices. Not saying I like it, but let's face it, 2.07AED a litre vs 1.50€ is still cheap. Its true! People here are greedy. Its cheap cause we in the middle east...and it will be changed every month. If it stays at 2.07aed a litre its cheap but it wont....

Hi Everyone, I’m hoping to seek some sort of answer or advice! My sister is preparing her trip from the US to Dubai early next month and we’re super excited to be reunited! The only worry is that she takes two prescription medications (Abilfy & Clonazepam) and from what i’ve read online these medications are banned in the UAE, but are available in pharmacies here. Unfortunately these are medications she cannot just stop taking for the sake of the trip, so she will need these for the duration of her stay. I have reached out to my doctor for advice and he said that she should be fine to travel with them with her doctors prescription and only the amount of tablets she needs since they are medications available in Dubai. But after reading more and more online I’m not convinced that it will be safe for her to travel without getting into some sort of trouble with the law. I have heard about her getting this (i'm copying and pasting from their website): Patients or travelers carrying prescribed prescription medications must have their prescriptions issued by licensed U.S. doctors, attested by a notary public, and duly authenticated by both the secretary of state of one’s U.S. state, and finally also authenticated by the Secretary of State of the U.S. Government in Washington, D.C. But this sound like a lengthy process, one that we won't have time for. :( Does anyone have any experience with this or know what would be the best route for us to take? Thank you for taking the time to read this! xx I traveled with Valium in my luggage but had a doctors letter saying I needed it. No one checked my bags, had no issue. Came from Australia.

Hi Ladies, Have many of you done the semi-permanent eyebrow tattooing? If so, what are your thoughts on getting it done? I saw a friend who had it done and I thought it looked amazing, and many brows are one thing that I prefer to have drawn-in even on a makeup-free day. TIA I had mine done for half the price at Royal Retreat spa, cant remember the ladies name but she was very good

Perhaps, they need to get more train stations...faster trains etc....its hardly a good public transport system...

Hello, where is the best place to have botox for forehead and between eyebrows mimics? I am looking for someone affordable and give the natural look not a frozen face:) Dr Allen Rezai at Elite Dubai Healthcare City. I use him for everything. I used to use DR Khan but he has become too pricey The frozen look only occurs when you have it too often. ( Every 6-9 months) whereas I go every 12-18 months Expect to pay 1800, cheaper usually means cheap/rubbish Botox. Allergan or Dysport are the best hi, sarahlou. does this include around the eyes too? Yes it is full face That is not a bad deal at all. thank you

Hello Ladies, I have a 5 year old dog who was a rescue & he has always been with our older female dog since he has been with us. He is a total teenager - lots of energy, full of character & fun to be with. But, after a short illness & a very ripe old age, we lost our lovely old girl a couple of weeks ago, now, he is a totally different dog. He is still at a loss without her & I feel really sad for him, he seems to have lost his zest for life. It is too early yet for us to get another dog (which we will do from one of the rescue centres when we're ready) so I wondered if there's any dog walking groups or social groups we could join in with so he can have some company some times. I'm not interested in putting him in a kennel for the day to get the company, I work from home & he is with me all day, I'm looking for something I can take him to, he can have a run around (maybe?!) & then come home with me again, does such a thing exist in Dubai? Hoping to hear that something is out there... Where do you live?

My DH is South African and I would like to learn at least some basics of Afrikaans. Since it's absolutely impossible to do it with him (every time we plan to start practicing Afrikaans, we just give up), maybe there is an Afrikaans-speaking lady out there who would like to maybe meet up for an hour a week for a modest fee or a coffee and dessert treat and just help me polish the language? Why do you feel the need to learn it? Only a very few people speak it in South Africa, and you cant use it anywhere else. I can say this cause I am from South Africa and most Afrikaners are more than happy to speak English. If you really want to and have time on your hands to do so, download Afrikaans soaps and other tv programs, or listen the radio stations. Google translator is an excellent tool and you can use the microphone.

Hello ladies.. if any of you have travelled to Sri Lanka before and have stayed at either or both these hotels which one do you recommend? We are two adults and two children, 8 and 6. One is the Cinnamon Grand and the other is Kingsbury. I hope to get some help as we are quite confused what to do! Thank you all inadvance, We going to Sri lanka in 2 wks, we staying at Celiao Villas, looked so lovely and a really reasonable price. The Kingsbury was recommended to me by many people and it looks stunning but I personally felt like it was too much like the hotels here and we wanted a different experience, If i had to choose between the two, I would good for the Kingsbury though.

Try Flooka in Dubai Marine Beach Resort. The view and the atmosphere are fantastic, the seafood is fresh and tasty, the prices are decent (the main and the starter will be around 200 pp) and they have a good variety of alcohol. Also I would like to add that fancy and low price unfortunately do not go well together in Dubai... lol, yeah i know fancy and not expensive do got together here but I mean reasonably priced. thanks for the recommendation, the menu online is quite limited maybe there is more when you there.

Hello, We went before ramadan. It was ok, nothing special in our opinion. Obviously way too hot to sit outside by then, I imaging that would make the atmosphere much nicer & therefore everything else too. The staff were able to answer all our questions about the menu - we had a few, but it just seemed a bit sterile, maybe it needs to grow into itself? I wouldn't go again, to me there's better restaurants around. Naturally it was expensive, but Four Seasons in Dubai - well that 's to be expected isn't it. Go, perhaps we weren't in the right mood, or went too early, it might be much better for you.. Ah, thank you. Its very very expensive from what I have seen. I will try look for another seafood restaurant.

Hi Ladies, I generally have good skin and only apply a tinted moisturiser from MAC on an evening out and it gives me a good coverage although its not as long lasting due to it being a moisturising one. I am 40 years old but been told I dont look my age - touch wood. A few of my friends are getting married and I will be attending numerous events. I went for a makeover at MAC - My friend looked gorgeous after the trial - I looked like a cake; Dont get me wrong - the foundation applied gave me a natural look -it called studio fix. but, after a few hours, my facial lines started showing through and i started feeling like my makeup was cracking. It was applied very lighly. I have combination dry/dehydrated skin. Drink lots of water, put enough moisturiser and the right moisturiser and also exfoliate regularly. My skin was also prepped properly before applying it on. So what went wrong. I have been told that MAC is generally quite heavy and there are other makeup brands that are better. I am a fair asian (paksitani/indian) with yellow tones in my skin so Mac range fits my skin tone but it seems like it does not match texture wise - dont want to look matt/dry. Can anyone please advise? I dont need advise on skin care please as I already use products that work well on me. Its a foundation that I am looking for with light coverage, long lasting and should not give me a matt/cakey look. Really would appreciate your help please.[b'>[/b'> There is an amazing one at Benefit and its called oxygen foundation, it is very light but gives very good coverage and I found it better than these super expensive fancy ones, many people rave about it, its not expensive either, have been using for months now.
