Hi Ladies I'm hoping my family and I, husband and 2 daughters 18 and 14, can visit Sri Lanka once the schools finish but I am new to this part of the world and so don't really know where to start, I've looked on a million websites but really would like a good travel agent to give me some tips on an itinery, where to be based etc. I think we'd be happy to move about a bit but some of the schedules on tour websites seem too packed, we want a bit of down time too. Can anyone recommend someone to help? Thanks loads Dnata travel have packages, I find it cheaper to do it yourself though.

Thanks, yes I know they are the more boisterous but my sister is young and wants this kind of brunch, we will also do zuma while she is here...I have been to westin twice before but not saffron but think we will stick to westin then, if saffron is more messy would prefer to avoid it. at least westin has a mix of ages...

Just for information - we took our kids to Hong Kong Disney and it was fab. Not too big, no queues as we went when the schools were still in there and the weather was lovely. We went at Halloween time and the whole city was decorated and there was a Halloween theme at Disney too. I'd say it was best for younger children. My sister went to the Paris one and from her account it was so busy and she was unlucky that it rained the whole time she was there - and it was July. Just thought I'd give you another option unless of course you're going to be in Europe anyway. Enjoy. Never thought of Hong Kong, I will check it out, did you get it through an travel agent? Thanks for the recommendation...

I can second, Dr Chris at Michael;s dental; clinic, he is very good with cosmetic work and I have been seeing him for many years. he did a lot of work for my husband who had implants too and seemed like his poor mouth a quite a challenge. just because a dentist studies cosmetics, it does always make the good at it, they have to be truly gifted and see what others don't, i really believe Dr Chris is better than many others, cant recommend him enough.

Hello ladies, I have been sick for quite a while now (I have an undiagnosed autoimmune disease) and I am desperate to be healthy again. I am now on a very strict healthy diet, have cut the booze out, started getting more excercise and I am on the slow road back to recovery. Since I have been sick I have started looking at 'alternative/complimentary medicine' and I heard from a friend that acupuncture can help with various health issues and I would like to give it a go. So my questions are are; 1. have you had acupuncture and if so, has it helped with any health issues you may have had? 2. who do you go to see out here? and 3. is it expensive? Many thanks xxx edited by MollyMooMoo on 16/09/2014 Why dont you try see a naturopath, highly recommend Heather Eade at Intelligent health clinic, sunset mall

I'm really hoping someone may have experienced something similar to me and can offer some kind of solution. I have been suffering with neck and shoulder problems for over 8 years now. I have been treated by 5 different chiropractors on an almost monthly basis and I am still in pain. I have even given up work now hoping that taking it easier would help but it hasn't. I have tried exercising, not exercising, yoga, swimming, physio etc. Nothing makes a difference long term. I am only 32 so I really don't want to take painkillers/anti inflammatories for the rest of my life. I had x rays taken a few years ago but they didn't show anything nasty. I know lots of people suffer and put up with far worse medical conditions but being in chronic mild pain 5 out of 7 days a week is really starting to get me down. hi, bythesea....I suffer from neck problems too and there lots of things that cause this, sitting at a desk working on the computer, also a big thing is AC blowing on your neck at night when you sleep cause the muscles to seize up. I see dr sean miner at california chiropractic center in healthcare city, he is v good with neck issues. i also see kris there who has shown me exercises i can do a home which really help. and one other thing i find very good for me, i bought this roller thing from there and its used for the neck, its amazing releases lot of the knots in my neck. think its called a t roller...i now dont have any pain what so ever but continue with my exercise and using my roller and that seems to be enough for me. maybe try them there, it seem like a very common problem and they know what they doing. all the best...hope you get it sorted.

The way he goes on about his knowledge and learning whilst dismissing others I'd expect him at the very least to have a PhD in the sciences. It would seem not. Although such a qualification requires hard work, determination and a certain mindset, maybe he is just intellectually lazy? Well, he certainly doesnt look v smart at all...all brawn no brains......

Hi Ladies, A friend of mine is coming to visit from the States in a few weeks time and she's looking to remove some stains on her front teeth. Is someone able to recommend a good dentist whose charges are reasonable as she'll be paying out of pocket? Thanks in advance My dentist always does my cleaning when i go for my check up, he is very gentle and does it better than the hygienist i find. other dentist used to refer me to the hygienist but he doesn't mind doing it all. and, he is really nice, he is at Dr Michaels, Dr Chris J the al wasl branch

Hi ladies. Since having an MRI scan for a lower back pain and having lots of Physio I returned to my GP as all seems pointless and not helping. GP said, in his opinion I would require an operation. Obviously this sounds very scary to me and also I have heard from a few people that some like to operate here as they get paid well by the medical insurances we have. Not sure if these are just rumours though. However I would like to know if anyone of you ladies could recommend a good back specialist I could go to that would give me an honest second opinion. Thanks in advance. You should try see a chiropractic, is complimentary therapy that works. From my experience physiotherapy does nothing if you spine is not aligned as the muscles continue to pull. My whole family go the California chiropractic and sport center in healthcare city, what i like there is they do combination of physio and chiropractic therapy.

Hi everyone, my family is in the process of moving to Dubai. We are out here now for a pre-visit looking at houses and schools, and I am really worried about the traffic. I come from a smaller place and the driving here seems scary especially on the bigger roads. I am not sure I feel confident to drive. Is it possible to set things up so you don't need to drive so much? Any other less confident drivers out there who have found a way to make it work? Any thoughts are welcome. edited by LinRa on 27/04/2015 You should definitely not put it off for ever. I said I would never drove here and after 3yrs I finally got a car and now I drive everywhere. I still dont know where I am going and dont know what I would do without google maps. Face your fears, its not that bad once you get used to it. Trust me if I can drive here anyone can

Hi Guys! So I am just about to go into my fifteenth week of pregnancy here in Dubai and I'd love some advice from you ladies! I have had my first 2 check ups with Dr Nataliya at Cooper Clinic on Al Wasl but I feel she was quite rude (answered her phone while in the middle of my scan & shouted at her assistant during my appointment) so I am wondering if anyone else has used her and their experience? I have decided to make an appointment with Dr Braithwaite at American Hospital so if anyone has any experience with her I'd also love to hear! As well as any experience of delivering at American Hospital. We also don't have any insurance! :( so I'm terrified of something going wrong within the delivery and not being able to afford it! Anyway, long post over! Please share your experiences ladies! xx I have friends deliver with her and they say she is v experienced and they would not dream of seeing anyone else. However, I love my gynecologist, he is very calming and good with complicated case, his name is Dr Christian Jozsa, he works at Healthbay clinic and I had my delivery at city hospital which is the nicest hospital here I think. He is v different to Dr Natayla...good luck x

whatever you do, do not use the Dr. mentioned in the above post, it doesn't appear to be genuine. This poster keeps spamming with advertisements about him and it is very worrying that a supposedly reputable Doctor's clinic, has to use methods such as this to get business. I don't think anyone would go near Dr. Kamil Alrustrom with a 10ft barge pole now, as a result of the spamming of this person, who keeps being re-incarnated as different users after being banned for overt advertising. I can only hope this is not Dr. Kamil Alrustom himself using these tactics. Was that post removed? How low!! Yes, I would not go near this Dr Alrustom either...seen his post before.

Is a chiropractor ok for back ache during pregnancy? the regular maternity massages don't do well to me. Lastly if I could ask where could I find these Drs that you recommend? Appreciate your reply. Mommypie, chiropractic adjustment are perfectly safe and very good for back problems while you pregnant. i found while i was pregnant with a very big baby that my spine was being pushed all over the place and felt relieve straight after my first adjustment. getting checked out can always help you have a better natural delivery too. my friend who is 4mnths pregnant just saw him yesterday and was very happy with him. like i said i cant recommend him enough, he is super nice. they based in healthcare city near wafi, building 64, block A 04 429 8292...

Hi Rosie, I have been there a few times and taken many guests there too. They have absolutely loved it, its a great place to spend an afternoon. You can buy many things for yourself or as gifts. If you have kids, they have loads of places where they can play. Often they have shows, water fountain and fire works. They open at 4pm until 12 midnight or 1am, i think. Mondays or tuesday they have family days only (not sure which so you will need to check). But overall i would recommend it!!! :) Ok, worth a visit, thanks

Ladies!! As some of you may be aware I am starting to plan my wedding here in Dubai. Several of you have given me a lot of information already but I was after a bit of advice from you if you have got married in Dubai or are going to be soon. So the question is: I have to go to the UK Embassy to get my Affirmation of marriage and for this you need to bring certain documents, one of them being your tenancy contract to prove your proof of address etc. Once you receive your affirmation of marriage these are valid for 3 months. Is this 3 months until you get married or 3 months before you hand all the docs to the church where you are getting married? TIA Yes, 3mnths till you married

I dont know if any of you attending the production of west side story at gems but I was so impressed. Its was absolutely amazing. The actors, dancers and singers so professionally done and put together. If you have a child that wants to go into drama, this is the school for them. My daughter love being a part of it. I have been to so many productions at other schools and have never thought much of it but this was excellent. They seem to have a very dedicated drama teacher.

Did anyone buy or know of someone who bought their wedding dress from Leda Trading (showroom in barsha)? They seem legit and the sample dresses are good quality but since they send the orders to their factory in China, you never know . . . So if anyone's had experience with them, please share! How was the quality, fit, accuracy to your specified design, etc? Thanks! If you order the dress from there factory in China, who will alter it when its here? I order bridesmaid dresses from a company I thought was in the UK but turn out to be China and it was an absolute nightmare. They did not fit properly, one was a different color shade to the others...I just refused to give me my money back...I could go on but anyway, I would definitely not use a factory in China if I were you, the customer service is very bad.
