Thick hair....Im melting and in need of a very good hairdresser (hopefully one who can be mobile) with some thinning shears to handle my locks. If any of you ladies can reccommend someone I would be really really grateful. Ive had the same hairdresser in the UK for about 10 yrs and because of my thick hair some say might say im fussy about who handles it lol. Thanks :) I use a wonderful british lady called Sally she is mobile, she has done hair for many years in including my mop! If you want to put down your email temporarily I will email you her number ;)

Not true - was there last night and no one was budging on prices plus it was sooooooo crowded - I thought I would escape the weekend rush, but I didn't. Think twice about visiting. Have been on the last weekend for 5 years running and have bagged some marvellous things... so TRUE. Crowded = atmosphere.... :-D <em>edited by roysie on 29/03/2012</em>

Somewhat strange, moving to a Muslim country and complaining about the food that meets local dietary requirements is it not? Rather like the people who move to the Eglish countryside and complain about cows moo'ing. Sometime I think that people seem to expect Dubai to be Surrey with sunshine! Well said!!

Yes ShadyPiper it is in the Beach Centre on the Beach Road (old blue mall, same one that has the 2 party shops in it)... it is the 1st shop on the left when you go into the door leading off the car park. ;)

I too suffer with aches and pains around this time and like Livelytrish I take evening of primrose religiously everyday 3000mg in 3 separate doses... you have to give it a few weeks to kick in but works for me (not 100% but soooo much better).... hope you find remedy soon x

Have been to re-licence our car and were hit with 300 dhs for Salik fines dating back to 2009! I'm not just saying this as an excuse but I know for sure that we have never been late paying the Salik fee but when I look at our account there are around 30 'violations' over a three month period at really odd times and days of the week when the car was in Abu Dhabi. I know you can argue it but I'm not sure I want the stress and how are you supposed to actually prove anything? Not only have we been hit but a friend got over 1,000 fines dating back to 2007, he was furious and says he can't understand it either. Have to say when they are fining you so far back how the h*ll are you supposed to remember. Has anyone else had this happen to them? I was under the impression that when you re-register once a year it can't be completed until all fines and fees are paid... so how can there be any fines pre-march 2011?? Surely when you went to re-register last year and the year before these should of shown up????

A large plastic dog bed (grey colour) , a plastic dog house for a smaller dog, and a moveable wire rabbit pen. We dont use them anymore so if anyone can put them to good use they are free, just pickup from arabian ranches. Send me your email address and I will send you address/contact. Cherry ripe. Dilys... we live in Layan which 10 mins from Silicon, so lovely & quiet and very friendly. Beautiful villas with huge gardens... very dog friendly, we have 3 :) Cheaper than AR too

Oh how i find it hard to cope with this weather Only wearing cotton... No PVC or leather I long for the days when i wrapped up feeling warm And donning my balacalava was totally norm. (Just for you Anne...lol) ha ha ha.. love it! Very good ... ;)

Beach Centre Jumeira on the beach road. Upstairs in the very right hand corner... he is very reasonable. Also the man who is the the same complex as Park & Shop on Al Wasl Road also reasonable. ;)

Do a search on here ,there was a post saying 'something is eating my clothes'. I'm not sure how to link it. Tea tree oil and sandlewood are good to keep in the wardrobe. I keep sandlewood blocks of wood and put oil on them. You will need to check through your whole wardrobe to find the little critter as they lay eggs. You can also put your things out in the sun as the heat kills them. hard work I know! Many thanks for that TimTam... luckily they were just t-shirts but dont want it to reach the decent part of the wardrobe :D

The way to cut down on your electricity is to do your washing in the evening. Also put your dishwasher on in the evening Mainly after 8pm.I tried it for 3 months to see if there was a difference. What a surprise I got. We are lucky enough not to pay housing fees. But have managed to cut down around AED400 on DEWA. We pay around AED300-AED400 per month for a 4 bed villa. Not used the A/C at all yet, we have got reflective windows so the villa stays really cool. 300-400 for a 4 bed.... blimey!! I wish.. My water is even double that :-( Do you have a garden?? Yes we have a garden. Not too big but it has plants etc so needs watering. I always water in the evenings as well, otherwise the water just evaporates. Well I am jealous :D ... Our cheapest bill has been 1200 in 2 years.. :-(

If I was an A cup I would go free and easy...bliss :D was waiting for you!!! I cannot, for some reason they are not as perky as they used to be (3 kids later) so the wired ones give them that bit of non surgical lift Gosh, I hope I never meet any of you:\: I would need some kind of crane for a non surgical lift :D

When we lived in Muscat we used to do the drive to Dubai very regularly... it was always fine. Snacks, books, count the trucks game etc... The drive with the border should take no more than 6 hours. I would suggest that it is done in daylight hours... :-)

Park Inn Hi Azaiba, Did you recently go? Some reviews are saying there is lots of construction going on around hotel? TIA I would assume given the name that Azaiba lives there... the Park Inn is a nice hotel in a central location for everywhere really. Apart from the ones you have already tried all the others are a little more 'up market' and there for pricey.
