Thank you for the warm wishes and compassion and thank you for the link it was useful. It was detected as Staphylococcus infection, and suggested as an ingrown hair (s) but how come some stay small -pimple- and others grow so aggressively fast, within 12 hours they go from 3mm to 3cm... the drainage is going well so far let's hope it doesn't fail...

but it's showing in different places around my buttom cheeks (...) and even ''front' area :( .. it can't be just one hair... what kind of specialist should I see.. i'm following up mainly with a surgeon, and now and then when it doesn't require an operation i see the dermathologist .. they suggested a certain ointment to apply at night 'in my nose and back ''exit''' as it's an easy entrance for this undetected germ... +and i'm not even that hairy to start with edited by sababy on 31/07/2011

ocupuncture? i never thought of that... does it actually work? can you recommend someone? as for laser, i'm not sure if it would be required as I have aleady had 3 sugeries to empty and at the moment getting two drained on daily basis (painful but bearable if the alternative is an operation) while going through another course of antibiotic though Iv... it depends if 'i'm lucky' and never have them again.. it has no specific timing 1 week to 4 weeks in between... i wish i found a sure way to prevent it from happening at all :s

Thank you ladies for your replies, I feel sorry that many are suffering too but also relieved to know some have gone throught it and got over it.. I hope the same will soon happen to me, as daily dressing change and sudden irruptions of boils is affecting me and my family... thank you for all your advice and recommendations I will contact Dr. Mathew (is it this one: +971(6)5334953 ? is he a dermathologist?) and will also use the tips given as i am prepared to try anything at this stage Thank you all :)

some areas have a 'skip' where you just drop yout bag in and let go... Uptown Mirdif school has one... beit El kheir does and some other charities will give you a phone number to call them and they will pick up directly from your home... check at the charity desks around your area for the contact details.... hth

also make sure you don't take pictures of the ladies around... for obvious reasons that they wear a scarf outside... and all of them will cover when the groom comes in at the end of the evening.. HTH

I'm guessing a lot of countries have similar rules... airport request the same from all... A paternal (father) authorisation for travel provided from your own consulate, so that makes it legal document... you might want to extend it all directions and dates HTH

they are still 'looking into it'? how long does it take?... may be it's time to take it to DED or ministry of social services... kids safety is at stake, they should close down immediatly and 'do something about it' not just look into it :\:

Just last week, my husband told me that it might be possible for me to use my AXA insurance from here, in the UK. For example, I could go to England for the summer and still continue my treatments there. I'm on follow up treatments for breast cancer - both hormonal and to strengthen the bones. these treatments are once per month and I take a daily prescription. Do any of you have experience doing this? I'm not British, BTW, so I don't know if that's a factor. I'm planning on calling AXA tomorrow, but I'm dreading it at the same time. We all know what it's like making calls here, so if I could get a bit of info from anyone with background in this, that would be ahuge help. Thanks I don't have an answer for you i'm afraid just my wishes for you to get better soon, and hope that AXA will be able to give you the correct advice and stick to it, give them all the facts and take the name of who ever gives you the final answer.. as a reference. best wishes

Anondubai, I found a way and that is to get a reference from maids already in Dubai for one back in their country, usually they ask their neighboors, cousins, friends if they are looking for a job (some unable to pay agency fee) ... as for the language skills, the OP is looking for one with good English, which even an agency cannot provide... however, it helps that they have some basic English or arabic to start with so that communication is not nil when they get here... that's what I believe ;)

Through an agency, but we had to pay a finder's fee of 4500 dirhams. Was that a good idea looking back? I believe they don't do a background or medical check, provide a reference or a guarantee in good work or language skills for that much... i am always shocked to hear that most these agencies take ticket fees and other fees from the employer and do the same to the maid :( ... thus pocketing more money on top of the service fee ...

Hello. We are looking for a housemaid and haven't had the best luck so perhaps it is because I'm not quite sure how to find a good housemaid. Curious to know how you find your housemaid? We are looking for an Ethiopian housemaid that speaks good English. Would love to hear how others have done this. Thx a million!! how?: through recommendation of one here in UAE, and straight from Ethiopia, with experience in lebanon... contact me if you are interested in sponsoring one from Ethiopia..(email deleted) ETA to delete email edited by sababy on 11/06/2011 edited by sababy on 11/06/2011

I don't think the heat will be too bad. We've done this dhow trip twice and the dhow is completely covered and you're in the mountains, so hopefully a little cooler. Also you can cool off in the water. Although, I would add, if you have small children, I personally wouldn't take them. I have a 2 & 4 year old and the boat isn't child friendly for little ones. It would be a nightmare keeping an eye and control over them as I would imagine they would get quite bored. Children from about 6 upwards, I would suggest ia a good age. Thank you Zannie... I feel really bad to go without my kids on the dhow (I want it more for them) so will waive the idea until it's cool enough for them to enjoy it fully, and take some side entertainment to keep them busy on the way back 9as it'll be sloww then...
