Hi, we have acquaintances with people who used to work for du in their IT department. The company as a whole does have a program of restructuring which is quite frequent. Many people have been let go as the company is struggling to compete with Etisalat. From the experiences that we've heard if you do want to work for du, it's better to research deeply all options.

Hi ladies Does anyone know if the Satwa medical centre is still open? I read that it had been closed for refurbishment but wasn't sure if it has reopened? I need to get my maids medical done for her visa renewal. Many thanks

We used one voucher in al halibi in January with no issues, and then yesterday they refused to accept the entertainer vouchers saying it is only related to their special main courses!!! There was no sticker or anything to indicate as such. The manager said it was at their discretion! Will definately not be going there again he was very rude! Not to say I was best pleased!

I bought my iphone 5C from Micro trading, they have a kiosk outside Carrefour in MOE. It had facetime unblocked on the phone. Works well x

Hi there I had teenage scoliosis and it was quite an upsetting phase of my life. Anyway, I had the required treatment at the time. Now however, after 2 children on, my back is not in great condition due to various issues. Without going into a long story, I saw a PIDDS specialist at the Manchester Clinic that can maybe help with this. I saw the therapist (Louise) there today who said that scoliosis is often linked to incorrect length which can lead to all sorts of other problems. Give them a call and see if they can help. Let me know how you get on

My son had his tonsils and adenoids a year ago he was 5. His tonsils were badly diseased and his adeneoids enlarged. The surgery was performed by from Dr J McEwan who I also highly recommend. I was also very nervous about the surgery but it has made a world of difference. Prior to the surgery he was repeatedly getting fevers always on antibiotics, and off from school as a result! He also used to snore and sleep with his mouth open and often had restless nights. Post surgery he is a different boy, sleeps much better has hardly had any fever/colds in the last year, and feels and looks alot more healthy. It really does make such a difference!

Hi all We have got all the necessary paperwork etc required to process our maids visa and have now been told by immigration that it cannot be processsed without showing proof that we have applied for the Emirates ID card for the maid??? Does anyone know any more on this? Many thanks

Hey Thanks for posting this thread! We were told today by the ENT doctor that my 5 year old son has to have his tonsils and adenoids removed and Im very hesitant about it all! Reading your experiences has helped me to calm my own fears but I know that when it comes round to having it done Ill be very upset and very, very anxoius! Your right Livelytrish it is our own horrors that we need to control in order to be stronger for our kids!

I think you can access into JVC from gate 8 but depends on which side that you live, but gate 10 is the main entrance. The area is serviced by du and so far no problems but etisilat recpetion is poor. Coming into JVC is a pain as you have the huge Al khail RA, but access out is v convenient back into Barsha.
