Both our girls are at Chouiefat, it is an international school, lebanese background,... Very structured and academic (compared to the school my girls went to in South Africa). But academicly very good reputation. But not everyone likes it aparantly as they tend to 'drill' the kids... would actually like to know if there are other people here with experience at Chouiefat..(as for us still very new..) We pay something like 23 000aed per child (Grade 2 and KG2 is little bit less)

Hi, So recognise your decision making..we had the same dilemma few months ago..similar offer (I think) and also doubted.. We only have 2 kids. We decided to come!! Still settling in... I think Dubai is the kind of place (like probably anywhere else), it all depends on your way-of life choices. I think you can easily spend a lot (designer shoes, bigger car then you normally have etc..)..but it probably depends the most on where your kids will go to school, where you wanna live (area, appt or villa). ..and do you need two cars, a maid, etc... We lived in belgium and in South Africa before..now Dubai.. I would say, day to day expenses are simillar then Europe, but don't forget you need some cash in the beginning as you need to pay schooling and housing not on monthly bases but in only few cheques (or some for the whole year). Also need a lot of deposits etc... We found school for our kids for approx 25000 aed a year (but most of the expats pay a lot more) and renting appt for 80000 aed (think if you choose a villa it will start at approx 130000 a year) . As I don't like to spend a fortune on renting.. would be different if I was buying something.. Let us know what the decision is gone be! Goodluck with the interview!

I have a bit of different problem ..I loose some weight and then feel so good that I start thinking: mm..now I deserved a that chocolate cake..hahaha.. I also go up and down with my weight, but I know the problem is me! Not enough willpower to resist all the good things...just love food! If I want to loose weight, the biggest thing I do is running, and eating less..especially not eating warm food in the evening and not eat after 6pm. Maybe also consider this: do you need to loose the 10kg or is that very unrealistic..Don't be too hard on yourself! and also gym will not necessarly have an effect on your kilos..you might even gain kilo's but you will look better and more firm.. Goodluck with the diet!

Aaaah reflux..remember how much I struggled with my oldest (already 7 years ago *slik*) we tried everything...thickeners to the milk, gaviscon..only one thing really helped. Paeditracian prescribed her zanax...was a life saver! as I said, it is already 7 years ago, so no idea if it is still on the market or if there maybe is anything better..but it did miracles for us! At that time also heard special babymassages also can work... Good luck!

Hi, yes, saw that facebook page, but I don't really live in green community itself but DIP1 (next to it) and I think they require you to live in the community..but can give it a try! Thanks for the info!

Hi there, we recently moved to Dubai. We are living in an app in an etisalat area. Anybody knows if it possible (and how) to receive BVN? (dutch/belgian channel). Etisalat costumer service says it is not. Anybody has some advice? Do we need to instal our own satellite? Thanks

Dear all, My husband has offer to go and work in Dubai as an engineer. Besides his basic salary they are offering school allowance of500 AED per month per child and 8000 AED renting allownace. We we have no idea if that is enough. Googling a bit on internet gives me much higher school rates and renting prices..so bit afraid to take the step. What is your opinion? Any help is useful :-) Is it nice living in Dubai with a family? Kind Regards, Nathalie
