Are you wanting to visit Bali in Ramadan, don't forget it is a very Muslim country! edited by pollydxb1 on 01/06/2014 Bali is a Hindu island - most services/restaurants etc will not really be affected by Ramadan, although there are many Muslims there who will be fasting. OP if you are looking to travel around you could try companies like Intrepid Travel or G adventures, they are small group tours (about 10-12).

Basically what I am saying is, change starts small, we can talk about how terrible human rights are, or we can actually look to what we can personally do within our little circle to enable change. That means not tolerating the abuse of maids (I think bans, holding passports and restricting freedom on hours off are all abuse) and speaking out when our friends or colleagues do abuse their employees this way even if it makes for awkward monents. And those in positions of influence over other employees, do what you can to make sure they are not "legally" abused. Fight for their NOC's etc, don't turn a blind eye. Or those at home, put the pressure on your husband's to do the same. It's all well to talk, but what are any of you personally doing? is this just another meaningless thread like the "don't kill your maid" one I was reading yesterday [b'>"fire your maid, don't kill her" "yes, terrible, how did they burn off her face I wonder?" "probably grout cleaner" "oh that reminds me, my grout is so dirty" and just like that, a woman's life is made trivial, just another piece of idle conversation, quickly forgotten[/b'>. so true...

I try to get this done when I am at home, but I have used Dr. Makki before and I would recommend him...there seem to be a lot of places popping up at the moment but Dr. Makki has been around a while and he will listen to exactly what you want!

it really is brilliant, it will make your skin very dry and you can (depending on how your skin reacts) have some peeling and redness. There is a bit of an adjustment period but it worth working through that. I have had to stop using it as we are trying to conceive (vitamin a can cause birth defects) and nothing works at well. Just be sure to wear high SPF all the time, it makes your skin very sensitive to the sun....oh, and don't wax your eyebrows...threading is fine though!

i think it has been said on here before but Cathy at Desert Princess 4486 4169 is great. After 3 years here and a LOT of hairdressers she is the only one I trust to listen to exactly what I want - and then to do it.

Truly Madly Deeply: oldie but a goodie. The music, the ... everything; it's all good. And the bit where Alan Rickman, sigh!, recites the Pablo Neruda poem: If you no longer live, if you, beloved, my love, if you have died, all the leaves will fall in my breast, it will rain on my soul night and day, the snow will burn my heart ... I shall walk with frost and fire and death and snow, my feet will want to walk to where you are sleeping, but I shall stay alive ... oh my.... that is one of my all time favourite weepies too

you could try 'My mother said i never should' by (i think, check spelling) charlotte keatly. it has some good monologues in it and, as it used to be on the cambridge international curriculum, you may be able to find a copy at kinokunia (or in a library at a British school?)...if i was in the ME i would happily photocopy and send you...but not back until the 3rd...

I know... been thinking of her as well. What a poor girl, she builds a life with a man who really thinks only about himself only... I am not judging what was her reaction toward her husband not being fair to his children from his ex wife..... some men just pure evil ad can blind a woman by telling lies after lies, then she walks up on bones breaking truth... I hope that she will stay calm and act swiftly and get every penny she can have from that house, and start her life with her children away from a man like that... well said Gorobattie

i use la Roche-Posey, found it at Boots. The one I bought is called Anthelios Matte Extreme Fluid, and it is 30+ sunscreen. Have found it BRILLIANT for oil control and have had no problems wearing make up over it. Have searched and searched for something to deal with the oiliness and this is what works for me. About 120AED if I remember correctly....you just have to make sure you rub it in really thoroughly or you look rather pale ;)

This sounds like a crazy solution but google "oil pulling" which basically involves swishing oil (i use sunflower) around in your mouth for 20 minutes. I have only been doing this for 3 weeks and it has cleared out years and years of blocked sinuses....dramatically! It all sounds very dubious and I was skeptical at first - but I am now converted. It is worth a try before you consider surgery.

Amy, my large pores have been a problem for years and I have tried everything: laser, microdermabrasion, chemical peels, you name it. NOTHING worked (had a wonderful derm who said "wow, you could drive a truck through those pores," lovely woman.....) Anyway, started on retin a 0.5 a month ago and the results have been amazing! it is pretty harsh at first, quite a bit of peeling and my skin was red (like sun burn). After the initial horrors though I have to say my skin has never looked better (trucks are slowly reversing...). It does makes skin very photo sensitive and you MUST use a high SFP. HTH

I gave my nephew a book called "things I love about bedtime" by Tracey Moroney and he loved it - or at least his mum did as she ordered the rest of the series - "things I love about playtime" and some others. They are very sweet books.
