Catmad, I do hope the kitties get rehomed. I have a young cat ready to give birth. She was dumped in an empty villa, so sad, but its a good job that we are here to help these poor animals.

As a youngster I spent alot of time in Fife, we were let to roam freely, playing in the Den, up the Craigs, potato and strawberry picking. My uncle had 6 kids plus us four, we used to spend the 6 weeks holidays up there. Good times, such a shame we have to grow up.

Im such a sucker for cats!!!!!!!!! Downy is adorable, Ive met the lovely chappy and he would make an excellent pet. Will put out feelers to everyone of my pet loving pals in Dubai. Having 3 cats of my own, a very heavy pregnant stray in my study, and promised the neighbour I will look after her rag doll for 6 weeks, will always make space for Downy and will get him a lovely home if and when Moo Moo runs out of time. OMG I will owe DH big time, hahahaah, xxx

I went direct to LL. He has been in touch and mentioned he will get the agent to renew the contract. I aint paying nothing towards renewal. LL hasnt mentioned nothing yet, but im waiting.

I never buy topside or silverside, a cheaper cut of meat, tender loin will be more expensive but you cant go wrong and it will be so tender and tasty. Try a rib eye joint, I but these all the time, and never bought a bad peice of meet. thanks SalsB, I knew silverside and topside wont be as nice as they are much cheaper but thought i would ask since i never tried them before. i don't remember seeing rib eye joint at the shops though, the shops seem to be full of tenderloin, silverside and topside but will defo search for a rib eye joint when I go next...thx a lot SalsB If the butcher / shop sells rib eye steaks, just ask them for a rib eye joint, It can be so difficult for them to understand sometimes, I bought a joint today, with ease, and it was lovely, I bought mine from Al Maya, but normally I use Spinneys, but their prices have gone thru the roof lately.[/quot thanks SalsB. Rib eye in Al Maya was around 60dhs a kilo. Its much dearer in Spinneys, Choithrams are ok in pricing.

Just give your 3 months notice now and you wont have to return after the summer. I wouldnt take money that doesnt belong to me, so If you are going to lose any monies then be it. As for anothe Gulf country I would definately not risk it.

thank you all fort your comments! any information and advice is welcome!! I arrive next friday and will be visiting the marina myself. I'm currently looking at the Park Island towers? I saw some adds for it on Dubizzle and am in love with the kitchens and bathrooms... Storage space and cabinets are important to me and Park Island so far seems to have the most.Is it just me or judging from the listings I am seeing, there doesn't seem to be much storage space in apartments? Closets are small...no cabinets in washrooms? I live across from Park Island and it does look very nice.

I cant wait to leave the marina. The noise of the Ferrari's going up down up down up down for no reason. (which i can hear as im writing this) the lack of parking for my visitors and the way shops feel its ok to block off public parking for their customers only. The marina has become dirty and run down and because the prices have dropped, any old tom, d*ck or harry can live 10 to an apartment. More and more low quality restaurants and shops opening which really do not cater for 'Marina' style living really had enough of this dump now. In fact the whole of Dubai is going down the pan compared to when I was first here 27 years ago. I think you are walkin round with your eyes closed!!!!!!!!!! enlighten me, please, what all the marina is a dump?????? I dont think so. Maybe its need rid of trashy tenants, then it will be a much better place. lol

After being in Midiff for a year and The Green Community in DIP the same, we love the Marina. Traffic!!! ok depends where you are, but once the doors are closed I hear nothing. Ive always lived in sub roads back home with hardly any traffic, so hate listening to cars whizzing by. I have everything on my door step, metro, Spinneys, hotels, bars, beach, shops, I have everything I need. As for buildings:- to many to mention, but, most of The Tridient buildings, Marina Sail, Marina Terrace are all excellent buildings to go for. I have a friend in real estate, if you need a hand to pick, let me know. There was a 3 bed unfurnished in Trident Bayside for 135,000. Have a look on Dubizzle. Its a top end apartment block. Hello, sorry if don't mind me asking, how much does a three bed apt cost in marina? I am thinking of relocating there..TIA

If you have children I wouldnt recommed a hamster, their lifespan is only for approx 18 months. My DD used to be heart broke. Not very pleasant, as they become terminal quick quickly.

Moo moo didnt search for these animals they have landed on her door step, she has in the past tried to home the animals. Moo Moo has opened her door and gave them temporary home rather than being left on the street to starve. At least Moo Moo has the sensible approach, unlike some people that just dumped their pets and jumped on a plane.

There are so great and wonderful people here, you just need to sieve thru the people that just want to know you for networking purposes. Ive met lots of people here, but only a handful are friends. Funny enough I was at a friend's surprise dinner on friday, 18 were coming, only 8 turned up!!!!!!! obviously they were probably offered something better to do!!!!!!!!!!!
