thanks everyone... good to hear the positive stories. Hope I can go back in a few weeks time..money not the issue but impossible to leave at moment. She has been a rock back home as my dad passed away last year and her dad has had a stroke so she spends all her free time looking after both mums. Had arranged surprises such a a night at Atlantis, a weekend at Al Hamra Fort and loads more to spoil her whilst she was here. I am in Al Banyan tree Rak at moment, wide awake at 3.30 and it feels so wrong to be in such luxury when she and my brother are going thru ****. Wasalmost here before I got news or would not have come.

Afternoon tea at Burj al Arab ( expensive though) Dinner on a dhow on the creek wander around the Madinat have dinner at Souk Al Bahar watching the fountains desert safari ( depending on age / sense of adventire of mum!) Captain Jack's boat cruise at Marina ( worth buying a family enteartainer book as you could save the cost of the book and more with one set of visitors!)

if you get a book and a bar of chocolate every time why is THIS time so disappointing ? and some men are just shyte at the presents thing... because he knew how upset I was to have nothing at all at Christmas so I thought he would make an effort this time. He is a great husband in many ways, but yep.. I have to accept no good at romance or pressies

Today has now degenerated intoa full scale row and I have told him to sleep elsewhere tonight. ( In same place but diff room) so hurt that he made so little effort when he knew it would mean so much

Not good so far.. I bought DH a romantic weekend away with dinner on the beach, then for tonight a massage fr 2 then dinner. He got me a book a and bar of chocolate. (Every occasion I get a book and a bar of choc except xmas when I got nothing at all) So hurt. Have cancelled massage and dinner tonight as just don't feel like it now. HE is a fantatsic husband in many ways but he is so **** at presents
