Dear Ladies Can anyone recommend a Psychiatrist who is based permanently in Dubai? Went to a female Psychiatrist today who, I felt was a little disappointed I wasn't more of a complicated case and I felt rushed. My insurance does not cover Psychiatrists anyway, so they don't have to be affiliated to a particular insurance. Male or female, I don't mind. Was supposed to have 45 mins-1hour but was out in 20mins. Patient before me ran late so it seems my appointment was affected.

Good morning ladies After realising how much it's costing monthly to water our "lawn" that looks like a bad hair transplant, we're trying to make a more long term, financially viable plan. We have had quotes for fake lawn. About AED20,000. As we are only staying here until May next year, this is more than the water bill. So we thought we should maybe just let this struggling "lawn" die (put it out of it's misery) and replace it just before we move. Can anybody recommend a company that can supply and lay a new real lawn and approximately how much this costs per square metre. I would really appreciate any advice..... failing which I'm going to paint the sand green :(

So here we go again! We left Dubai for Perth in 2012 and things are now dire in Perth and we have an opportunity to move back has come. We left as a couple with 1 dog and return with 2 dogs and 2 kids aged 1 and 3! Obviously it will be very different living in Dubai with kids. We are looking at Arabian Ranches as an area to live in. IS there an area you love? Has anybody left and come back again. I am sick with worry, nerves and not sure if I am excited or not!! The Lakes is also a good place for families with kids and animals. We have just come back to Dubai after 8 years away. It feels more expensive, although the property rentals seem to be similar to 8 years ago. 4 bed house in the Lakes, AED310,000. Electricity and Water have increased in price. My advice would be to bring as much as you can in regard to the house, furniture, beds and bedding, small and large electrics (washing machine, dryer, dishwasher). All probably cost more here than you would spend at home. Dubai is still a great place to live, just expensive.

Thank you ladies for your responses. I will keep watering every day and hope it recovers, at least until we get our next DEWA bill! Any idea how much artificial lawn costs? It seems lots of people are going that way now as watering is so expensive. Thanks again.

Hi Valentina. We have been in Dubai a couple of months and we used Dubai Kennels and Cattery who sort out all the paperwork for you and let you know everything you need to move your animals to Dubai. I would highly recommend them. It is not a cheap process but using DKC took a lot of the stress out of it.
