I go to Dr Janeta Atanassova at Infinity Polyclinic on Al Wasl Road, Jumeriah www.ihcdubai.com I have been seeing her for menopause problems etc. She's wonderful, best gyn I've ever had and was recommended by a friend. Never rushes and always explains everything incredibly well. Very nice person too. She has been in Dubai since 1992, trained in Bulgaria, UK and USA. edited by sarah-jane on 19/07/2012

Hi arohadxb, I am so sorry about your Dad, I have a dear friend with Alzheimers (very early onset at 62) and also my late Mother-in-law too. Do get your Dad assessed asap, it may just be old age, as treatment is best and most effective when started early. I also read about Admiral Nurses in the UK, they are specially trained to help not only the patient but the carers too, there is info on this very helpful website. Not sure where your Dad is, but it may still be useful. http://www.dementiauk.org/

We stayed at the Movenpick too, great location. We actually booked the trip with Jordan Select Tours, I think the girl I was in touch with was called Lamees. http://www.select.jo/ She was very helpful, we had a car and driver/guide, he was superb and made the trip. Went from Amman via Mount Nebo and Madaba to the Dead Sea and then on to Petra via Wadi Mujib. One night at the Dead Sea and two nights at Petra. Do try to see Wadi Mujib it's spectacular, they call it the Grand Canyon of the Middle East. Jerash is amazing and worth the easy hours drive north of Amman, you could also see Umm Qais at the same time, another Roman city, but with great views of the Golan Heights and the Sea of Galilee. edited by sarah-jane on 25/09/2011

Lived in S E Asia for a very long time and travelled all over. Have a look at La Taverna in Sanur, also Taman Sari and Amertha Villas (same owners) , in the north west of the island but a lovely spot and worth the trek. They have english speaking drivers who can pick you up from the airport, you can enjoy a tour of the island on the way. http://www.balitamansari.com/ http://www.latavernahotel.com/introduction.php As the others have said, avoid Garuda!

Try Cut Above, 1st Floor, Jumeirah Centre. Really nice salon, Jackie (English) does great colour and cutting too. If you need a Mani/Pedi can't recommend Alma highly enough!
