Dubai... People tend to gain weight and find it difficult to loose the extra kilos. If you are the one i have some tips which would be helpful. Its tried and tested I have a friend who is following this deit and have loose upto 5kg in a month. Morning : 2 or 4 Brown Bread or Boiled Egg + Green Tea + 15 mins walk (can use step if going to office) Lunch: 1 Apple or any other fruit + Green Tea Evening: Green Tea + 15 mins walk After 7:30: Dry fruit + Juice or Fruit or Boiled egg + 1Hour walk + Cardio excercise Note: Drink more water, avoid sugar. It may feel tough but its effective and im sure you will be able to shed that extra kilos. Hope it works for you. :) So starving yourself helps you lose weight Putting your body into starvation mode is dangerous and yes you will lose water weight put also pile it back on when you start eating normally. Walking does not shift the pounds as you have to get your heart rate up. Eating a balanced diet of 1200-1400 calories per day plus HIT training of 20 mins 4-5 times a week if far more beneficial than a faddy starve yourself fad  Sugar also fine in moderation

[b'>Hi, I am currently having a dispute with my landlord and need some legal assistance but cannot afford a high notch lawyer and need to have my issue resolved before being forced to vacate my apartment. My renewal contract date is Oct 31, 2017 and my landlord wants to increase the annual rental contract and make me pay for empower for the previous year I was living in the apartment as well as the next year if I decide to renew. That is going to be an extra AED 5,000.00 for the empower previous year and then the expenses for the next year 2017-18. This was never mentioned in the contract that I would be responsible for Empower expenses. Also, the value of the rental contract is already higher than the market asking PRICE! My neighbors living a few floors above me pay 6,000 dhs less than I do every year. They also pay four checks and I pay in two checks at a time. He wont budge at all and rejects my calls as he is avoiding me and I am worried I come home one day and find my stuff lying on the doorstep I have taken super great care of the apartment and fixed it up. He wouldn't find a tenant that would take care of it as his own the way I have and I have invested so much already Any suggestions or assistance?[/b'> Firstly he cannot kick you out and leave your items on the doorstep. He would have to file for an eviction notice and it takes a year Secondly did the LL give you 3 months notice prior to the renewal dateto increase the rent? Did he also give you 3 months notice to ask for the Empower costs? And rent increases are done by the rent calculator have you checked that? If the 3 months notice wasn't given then the rent rolls over at the same cost as last year and there is nothing he/she can do about it You have more rights than the LL You don't need a lawyer. Check the real estate laws and tell him you have spoke.n to the rent committee and know your rights If he won't accept payment then you can lodge the cheques with the Rent Commitee who will pass them on. He cannot enter your property or change the locks so don't worry .

Maids do not fall under the same labor law as other workers so all you have to do is tell her you are terminating her employment, cancel her visa and book/accompany her to the airport for a flight to her home country.

I was CIN 3 a few years back. As a precaution i had a LEEP procedure and since then all my smears have been negative. Most women i know have had abnormal ones. and guidelines do say that there is a minute chance it COULD NOT WILL develop into anything nasty. Did they tell you what CIN you were and if so what treatment plan have they advised? I too had to have 6 monthly checkups until it was clear Try to worry too much :-)

I used to use Salon ink but then a friend who was freelance ( and much cheaper) started doing it however she has left Dubai so the ladies at Slam do it As the other posters say go by recommendation only as they can really mess it up here if they havent worked with blonds

Not shady or shady You shouldn't be working for a firm with no visa as it is illegal, you have no medical insurance and if they decided to terminate your employment and not pay you, you do not have a leg to stand on. You only have their word for it that they are having visa issues. Any decent firm wouldn't have these problems Depending upon what passport you have you can do unlimited visa runs If you are British or one of the visa on arrival countries then you can just keep doing them as there is no restriction. personally speaking i wouldn't touch any firm that hadn't got approval or my visa within a month

Thanks very much for the responses Coessani, is there one specific market? The main two are Karama and Deira however i believe there is one on Beach road somewhere. C4 isnt that cheap for fish. Decent Salmon, Haddock, fresh prawns are expensive. I haven't used the below company but i heard the guy on the Business Breakfast http://fishbox.ae/ The Organic Cafe also has 20% off the third Fri or Sat of every month

I have been watching too many videos and read so many articles on ways to lose fats. I want to try this lemon juice way, does anyone already tried and is if really effective and how long did you notice to have changed on your body? Please share your experience so it will help myself to convince to start it already. Lemon juice will not shift belly fat. I feel this is one of the faddy starvation diets where you eat 500 calories a day, lose water weight, keel over, then put it all back on when you resume normal eating? No extreme loss or starvation is healthy or sustainable. The only way to lose fat is to have a healthy calorie deficit, exercise, cardio and HIT is the best way to lose fat. Sadly there is no quick fix, take it from someone that has tried ( and failed) with them all. to lose a llb a week you need to be a calorie deficit of 3500 calories per day, that is 500 calories a day. with the extreme diets you lose water weight that's it.

Legally you can bring AED100,000 in from the UK which in GBP is 21,000 It is easy to transfer money from a UK bank account once you have a UAE account up and running however you will be charged anything from 25-50 pounds and it can take around 5-10 working days ( depending upon who you bank with. Your bank will give you the cost of charges) however you will lose on the exchange rate as it is better for you to change money here at one of the money exchange houses as you get a better rate on large amounts. When i moved here in 2006 i brought GBP3,000 with me and my friend put it in her bank account until mine was up and running, i did have a job and somewhere to live so the money was for spends. You can withdraw here from your UK bank account but the rate isnt the best and depending on your banks condition it may only be up to GBP a day Hi Sarah, Thank you for your message. I suppose I don't need to worry too much about it as I only need enough money to last until my first wage comes through. It's just a little difficult to know how much one will need, but I suppose there's always the option of transferring money through from the U.K., if I need to. Also, I was speaking to a friend yesterday and I currently bank with Co op and he advised that it might be better to open a bank account with somewhere like HSBC or Santander, if they have them there, before going as it might make it easier/ save on transfer costs/ costs. Might this be a good idea? Anyway, thank you for the advice, any other pointers would be greatly appreciated! :-) I am not particularly looking forward to the weather being a hardy Yorkshire lass and being more accustomed to rugged terrain and colder temperatures! Any advice on how to keep cool? Thank you. Hi there You mentioned HSBC. We bank with them and our UK and UAE accounts are globally linked. The transfers in between are instant and problem free (done online) and we can view all of our accounts in one login. We have banked with HSBC in the UK for many years but new to UAE, so far it's been problem free banking. The weather is only hot and humid up to the end of September then it cools down and is gorgeous. Aircon is king here so as long as you aren't walking for miles in the midday sun you will be fine

Hello Ladies, Apologies for the long thread. We are a British couple and moving to Dubai in the next few months with a 6 month baby. Although we have done our own research, we would really appreciate your personal advise and recommendations on the following: 1. Are there any mums and baby groups and where are these? 2. Property search - we are ideally looking for a 2+maids+study or 2+ in the following areas - barsha (near mall of emirates), downtown (near Dubai mall), Dubai Marina (near the metro), JBR and greens. We are looking at apartments and not villa/housing living and wanted to know which of these areas are closer to nurseries, play groups and young families? Our main priority is to be walking distance to a shopping mall, metro, local amenities. 3. Cars - we plan to buy brand new and prefer SUVs over 4x4s and saloons. Could anyone specifically recommend good, strong, sturdy SUVs (make and model) which have a good resale value. We would prefer Japanese/Korean cars since these have a better resale and less expensive on the maintenance. 4. Any recommendations on good British Montessori's/nurseries please? 5. Which are the good hospitals and can anyone recommend a good pediatrician who has a more natural approach and does not give medications unnecessarily. 6. Aside choitrams, carre4, spinneys are there any grocery stores where we can find free range eggs, hormone free meat and chicken, fish and fruits and veg which are pesticide, chemical free. Thank you so much in advance I cant help with Mother and baby groups sorry Downtown is close to Dubai Mall and lots of restaurants etc Barsha is close to Emirates Mall however it is the cheapest area to live in but the standard of buildings is not as nice as Downtown/Marina/Greens Marina is popular but can be very very busy You need to look on www.propertyfinder.ae or www.justrentals.com and have a look at prices for these areas as the price in Barsha will differ to that in Downtown I live in the Greens and it is very peaceful, clean and green! and close to all amenities, the higher rise buildings are of a better quality than those of the older greens buildings( They are called the Views) the metro station is in Tecom ( Internet City metro station) and it is walkable but it all depends upon which end you live it Taxis are cheap and plentiful here JBR is popular and close to the beach/walk Greens/Views and JBR have alot of young families I would say if you want beach living then JBR which is at the Marina Quiet area Greens and Views Inner city living Downtown Many people buy demo cars with a few miles on the clock rather than brand new There are so many dealerships here that you can have a look around Mitsubishi Outlander, Honda crv, mazda cx 5 and Toyota Highlander always come tops in the safety records We have the Organic shop here which sells organic/ free range. This type of food here is double the cost of the Uk! Waitrose and Spinneys also do hormone free meat, many markets do organic veg etc I cant help with the other bits but you can use the search function above and put it key words which will throw posts up, you also have the grey bars above which have all sorts of information pertaining to living here .

hello and good afternoon i would like to ask a question please as I'm looking for advice, no one seems to know when you ring lawyers, I'm getting a little frustrated and seem to be going around in circle does anyone have first hand experience of this scenario as a british christian is it better to divorce in my home country UK or uae? (we are both british and christian) if in uae are the assets split, do you get spousal maintenance? or is it better to do the divorce in the uk. will the courts in uk be able to enforce financial orders from the uk to the uae, basically can they force him to pay me in the uk? I've lived in the uk since 2016, he still lives in uae runs own business. married 43 years and no dependant children. we lived together in uae for 15 years. do you also know if they tell him that he is going to be served with a divorce petition before they actually serve him - hopefully he will be served in the uk when he's here soon on business. many thanks for any help. its much appreciated in advance x You will have to divorce via the Uk. I got divorced whilst I lived here and my ex lived in the Uk. Go and get advice from a divorce lawyer. You have to list joint asserts on the forms however I have never heard of spousal maintenance and I don't think it exists here for British nationals. Once divorce papers are served they have to be signed and sent back very quickly. I had to courier mine within 24 hours. I do not think the UK courts can force financial settlements on your Husband if he refuses to comply. I say this as a friend went through a similar thing, she never got a penny and has children

Does anyone know of any brunches that are still on this Friday? TIA Observatory is open ( Friends went 2 weeks ago) Grand Grill at the Habtoor Marina is also open ( I range and asked ) None have live or loud music but are doing brunch. Many hotels are operating as normal this year so you can call around if you want to check others

So... I have decided to treat myself to a little medical assistance in the body contouring arena. From all I've read, I'd rather not do traditional lipo as I'd rather not undergo a general anesthetic. And I don't want to try the newer non-surgical 'lipo' like coolsculpting or iLipo or what have you. I'm interested in the Ultrasound Assisted Lipo. Now apparently there are two types of UAL. One is non-invasive and is like the newer ones I referred to above. The other is described as a minimally invasive surgical procedure which is done under local anesthetic and requires precious little down time. Has anyone on here done this and if so can you recommend clinics to go to and/or avoid? I know Jaafar Khan is very popular but from what I can tell he does traditional lipo only. I'm going for a consult at American British Surgical Medical Center tomorrow. I'm also looking at Dubai Cosmetic Surgery, Elite Cosmetic Surgery and Cosmetrix at the Saudi German Hospital. Appreciate any feedback from anyone who's done this. Many thanks m Friend had vaser but didn't do it here. She went a Harley Street DR in Brussels as the cost was half of what they charge here. I have used Elite ( DR Rezai for fillers) and he is a lovely man however i haven't heard any feedback regarding his other/colleagues procedures. I have used Jaffar Khan for other procedures however not lipo. Dubai Cosmetic Surgery has a good reputation however i have never heard anything about Cosmetrix

Hey Ladies, Can anyone recommend a good deep cleaning AC company? I know SaniService are recommended on here but most of the posts were from a few years ago, can anyone comment on there recent service? Also they seem to be very expensive, any other suggestions of good reliable companies? Thanks S Coolwell are good. I used them to replace my A/C in my apartment and the whole replacement was only 1400 ( Honeywell thermostat) Saniserve was almost double that. My area forum has many people who recommend Coolwell for servicing and cleaning too

Currently living in Sas Al Nakheel Village - been here for 3 months and living in a 4 bed villa which is way too big for us and we may look to downsize to a 2 bed villa or apartment. Also since we have been here I have constantly had maintenance out for so many AC issues. So I would like to know if anyone has had any experience with cutting short a lease? I haven't spoken to Khidmah just yet as I wanted some real stories from real people. I think what I've gathered is that I would need to find the next tenant for the property but wondered about the refund of remaining rent, does the new tenant pay to us or Khidmah? Any experiences would be really good please. Thank you :) When i moved into my current place, the previous tenant had only been there for 6 months ( He had to return to the UK) I took over the rent as he had given the LL 4 cheques and had only paid two so far. They didn't bank his remaining cheques and ripped them up. They gave me a new 12 month contract If he hadn't of been able to find someone then he would of had to pay 2 months penalty for breaking the contract. I think 2 months penalty is written in most contracts so it may be worth looking at yours

I am household worker i came back last Sept. 2016 to my madame...she was the same madame i had back in 2013-2015...but she was not actually the same sponsor i have in my visa. During my first month she was not able to give me my salary...i borrowed money from his brother in law expecting the next month She will give me double salary but she did not. when i was in Philippines she used to call me and say we will arrange to make tutorials for part time , i said ok no problem. That is why during my first month i have ni salary because we didn't found student yet. But from October up to this month we have tutorial clients. i am getting my salary from tutorial only 1200 aed still she did not make increase..the rest of money goes to her for school of her kid..all in all i almost shared 10,000aed to her not included all the salary i got from it. I came to myself that i should ask for increase she said she can't ...now i asked at least once a month off....again she said no because it's hard I'm not in her name. I want to ask just for release and find accurate job for me....coz i don't find myself in fair situation. Please i want to hear an advice...thank u and god bless If you are in the UAE go and speak with your consulate. Sadly i do not think anyone on here will be able to help you

Dubai does allow it and you don't have to be a Teacher etc. A friend who is a single Mum here, works for a law firm and sponsors her Daughter. Dad is in the UK She gave me this information As per the prevailing rules of the directorate, you may sponsor your daughter if you have a minimum salary of Dh10,000 or salary of Dh7,000 plus employer's accommodation or your own accommodation. In case of your own accommodation you should have a valid Ejari tenancy contract for your accommodation. Further, you will also need to secure a letter of no-objection or NOC from your husband stating that he has no objections with your daughter staying with you in Dubai under your sponsorship. The NOC should also be duly notarised and legalised in Dubai I cannot tell you about Abu Dhabi sorry

Hi I have visitors arriving during Ramadan and wanted to know if there are any brunches during Ramadan that serve alcohol? thanks Last year some bars had permits which allowed them to serve alcohol during the day There weren't many of them, I think Mcgettigans and Bidis had a permit and Lock Stock started serving at 4pm It is worth calling around later this week to ask however i dont think the full on brunches will be taking place Try calling Barasti and Mcgettigans as you usually get a good response from them I spoke with Reform and they had the licence last year but she could not tell me if they had one approved yet and if they do have one then they will serve brunch at night but not during the day

Hi, I am a resident of UAE and my husband is working in a reputed company in Muscat and we are married for 7 months. He is working as Senior sales executive for 6 years in that firm. He had this client who was creating issue by not paying for the product supplied by my husband months back. After several calls and meetings, the client was ignoring and finally threatning not paying for the product and all. My husband reported to his credit control department and his company filed a case against the client. Now, since I am working in UAE and I am unable to get a visa clearance in Oman, he has resigned from his company to join me. Hence, he was entitled to get his gratuity before leaving. But, the credit control department says that the invoice value for that product has to be deducted from his gratuity since they have no hope that the client will pay. The gratuity amount is lesser than the invoice value. Now, after his dedicated service for 6 years to that company he is getting in return NOTHING. So my query is that whether there is a rule in Oman labour law, that the sales person have to bag the burden for non-payments by clients? We are really in a tough situation as he haven't got any other job on hand and now there is no money also. Kindly help! Regards. Have you spoken to the Omani Ministry of Labor? Gratuity is legal requirement for time served and nothing to do with a company's cash flow or credit control problems. It is also illegal not to pay it! I cannot see how this is legal and that they are allowed to deduct the cost of the product out of his salary. I doubt there is any law to support this and feel they are trying it on. Tell him to go to the Omani MOL

Planning to book Wizz Air flight to Sofia from Dubai. Any reviews? I have been reading lots of complains about them so I am scared. Flew with them 2 years ago. No frills, nice enough cabin crew. It isn't Emirates etc but then you aren't paying Emirates prices. Short flight to Sofia and would use them again. I think most of the no frills airlines have lots of complaints. I would look at their safety record, the rest I can deal with, no problem

Hi.. I need advice. I was married to an English man and now separated for 3 years. We got married in UK, how to check if he already filed a divorce? Is there any chance for me to file in UK or here? I hope you can give me an advice.. Do i have to travel to UK to file a divorce or I can file here in Doha. Thanks a lot!!! https://www.gov.uk/divorce/overview I think you will have to file in the UK ( I had to) Are you a British national? I didn't have to travel there as luckily he initiated it. I just had to sign all the docs from his solicitors and make sure they got back into the UK in time ( The window was very small) I don't think you can find out if he has filed unless you know he has retained a solicitor and then they may not give you any information. If he has i am sure you will receive paperwork from him. Here is some other information which may help http://www.terry.co.uk/divorce8.html

What a good cause! As soon as my baby starts daycare, i will be doing some major clean up. Given that this will be my last child..i see no need to have clothes that i will never use stacked up. Thanks for the idea ladies! :) My colleagues Wife sold their childrens clothes at one of the markets and made herself some cash :-)

Does anyone in the hotel industry know if brunch will be held on Friday May 26th, I need to rearrange a birthday if not. TIA Have you called any of the hotels? Mcgettigans are usually spot on as are the Rotana chains If It falls on 27th then the 26th shouldn't be dry however i would book it for the 19th just to be on the safe side

River island and New Look deliver to Dubai for GBP10 John Lewis will also deliver for a small fee Amazon will only ship certain items and the shipping can be huge Souq.com is good but i am always a bit wary that some items could be fakes For other shops i use shop and ship although heavy items arent worth it as you will be hammered with the shipping/weight fee. I have saved a fortune with shop and ship as the UK clothes shops always have sales on. I rarely if ever buy any clothes/makeup perfume here as it so overpriced
