Thank you pollydxb1 for your reply, but there is frequent checking done by the municipality, especially after Expo 2020 such checking have been doubled ,so workers have to be careful that they have a work permit or labor card else the company will be fined and the worker without the work permit will be deported. There are risks. Is it true that they are replacing work permits with labor card?? Which area of Dubai do you work in? Do you work for a private company or a semi gov/government organization?

Try Dr Allen I went to him on Saturday. They have an offer on aswell so it was 1530 for a full head He was a really good guy and I would go back again without hesitation Sarahlou, where is he at? I'd want botox and fillers done but haven't found the courage yet. is it painful? Dr Allen Rezai is in DHCC, he does my botox and I also have PRP with him. He is very good. I have mine done in the UK now as it is so much cheaper than Dubai ( 50% less) Dr Allen uses the Allergan make of Botox which personally speaking I find is good for the 1st couple of times but then you need to use Dysport Fillers are more expensive and I like Restylene which is ridiculously overpriced here They can give slight bruising although mine wasn't too bad considering I bruise like a peach Fillers also are more painful than botox <em>edited by sarahlou123 on 20/01/2014</em>

They're garbage and don't work! There simply is NO magic diet pill. These are used for severe obesity and do work however when prescribed by a medical professional the individual has to be closely monitored and lose X amount of weight before they are given. The side effects are awful.

So I had some hair extensions done recently as I was fed up with my short hair. They are the tape and weft kind, though I realised some time after that the majority of them are in upside down (the weft is facing down towards my scalp and not up as they should be), because of this they are also uncomfortable, especially at night. The whole experience with the salon I went to was not great to be honest. I was quoted a certain price and then at the end they tried to make me pay over double what they had told me. Obviously now I am not sure if she knew what she was doing, she was the only stylist in at the time. I will say that the colour match is great, and she did tell me this kind can be removed and put back in a couple of times after 2-3 months, so I know they can be replaced. Should I go back to the same salon or just find someone else to re-do them for me? That's awful. I would go back and demand they redo them for free! I use the Keratin bonded Great Lengths one but there are some new ones on the market by a company called Angelo that are taped. My friend had them in and they stayed in for months and are reusable. I am going to give them a go next time Good Luck!

There is one crossing from here to currency house which is often where people have parked. I park my car and walk to the office and there is no crossing for me on the way, I dodge cars (although it is not buys when I start) so its not as easy as using a crossing This is the main one outside the gate building, every night there are hoards of people crossing next to the crossing?? It is very scary

Yesterday at Dubai mall my husband and I were totally taken aback when a lady popped out her b**b and started breastfeeding while strolling along.....Have to give the local gentleman a big pat on the back. He stopped, glared and told her to "cover over!" and then stomped off. The lady in question was rather taken aback but did comply... What can we expect next??? Breastfeeding is good for the mother and to her baby. but as For me, we should consider that we are in Dubai. For breastfeeding mommies if your baby needs milk then you should go to a private areas where in you can expose your breast for your babies. or prepare at home a breast milk use a breast pump and put it n the feeding bottle. Why should Mums consider that they are in Dubai? It is actively encouraged and not illegal I cannot believe some of the views on this and to the OP who said they didn't want to see a mans winkie poking out of his shorts, a Mum BF her child is not even in the same arena as this

My favourite argument in the whole BF debate is "but it's perfectly natural." Er...so are several other bodily functions, but we have private rooms for those. Not that I'm advocating for private rooms for BFing - as long as you're discreet it's fine. I just think it's a strange argument. To compare feeding a baby with taking a sh*t is a little odd... Agree!

Jumeirah Park is not out in the sticks. It's next to Emirates Hills and JLT. You are 5 min from Springs town centre and battuta. Marina mall 10 min. Mall is almost complete. Villas awesome. No school yet, but there are quite a few within 20 min drive. I got lost round there last night on my way to Jumeriah Islands New street names are in effect and I had no clue where to go as JI wasn't signposted after JLT It looked quiet and deserted and this was at 7pm <em>edited by sarahlou123 on 15/01/2014</em>

I have just been sent my new tenancy contract, rent has stayed the same as the landlord failed to serve notice by 90 days BUT a new clause has been added: In 'Tenancy Provisions' its says: Rental renewal charges can be increase or decrease as per the RERA Rental Index (all parties will get 1 month notice in advance). Is this legal? Can they do this? This will mean our rent could increase a whopping 40% a month after signing!!!! Please does anyone know if this is legal? Thank you!! probably not. He sounds as if he is trying it on. Rental contracts are for one year and fixed at that cost. They cannot increase within the 12 months I would speak to the RC for peace of mind though. I imagine they will go to many shady lengths now. If you are on good terms with LL ask how and where this is legal they can put it in?

I'm finding this re registration annoying. My mobile no is a post paid account with Etisalat which I got directly from Etisalat a long time ago. I queued for a couple of hours to re register it last year but am getting messages to re register it again. This time it seems you need to go with an Emirates Id card? I did mine last April and had to show my EID

The process only takes a few minutes, like the other posters have said it really does depend how many people are ahead of you in the queue.I did mine in MCC and I was finished within 10 minutes, very simple and I had prepared myself to spend hours getting it done! We had people trying to push in but luckily the staff told them to go to the back of the line They used a ticket system when I did mine so you got called to the customer service desk when it was your turn. Unfortunately you always get those that think they are too important to stand in line! Do we not know who they are lol!

A friend of mine posted an article about it and when i googled it i found a whole load of info regarding it and how its not safe. Apparently its not sold anymore in the US and Australia want to ban it too because of safety concerns. Same as Diane 35/diannette. Its been banned in a few countries. But i read an article on The National (i think it was) that is banned in a few countries so why is UAE still selling it??? And moreover, why are we able to just buy over the counter so easily without a doctors prescription. Just a bit concerning I was only 2 days away from my 7 day break anyway, so i'm sure stopping 2 days early wont be a big problem. Just want to find a new pill asap so i can start it on the first day of my cycle again I am surprised that the UK is still prescribing it if the US has banned it? There are lots of things available over the counter here that are either banned or prescription only in Europe.

Hi Ladies, Just need some advice on the pill. I've been on yasmin for a few years but have recently heard that it is not safe and is being banned in a few countries due to blood clots, deaths etc. So of course, stopped taking it straight away as was a bit freaked out. I've been searching on the internet now for another pill to take but cant seem to find something that sounds good. I've just been into the pharmacy and they told me Cilest was discontinued ( i had actually decided on this one) I was also thinking to maybe try marvelon but have also read of some bad side effects so i'm a bit stuck now on which one to try. can anyone reccommend a good pill that is available here in Dubai? TIA :) Who told you about Yasmin? I take it as does my BF in the UK Thanks

Thanks for the reply - the water is wamr and there pool service is ok? Thanks 3 pools and the beach, they also have a swim up beach bar and plenty of restaurants also I don't remember the pools being overly cold and I was there last Feb

Morning ladies, I have my father in his 60s coming for a weekend to spend time with my 11 month old daughter. Thought it might be nice to chill out by a nice hotel pool for the day. Any recommedations as it will need to be a warm pool with shallow bits etc. Went to Mina Seyahi before and it was freezing! Thanks Moo I love the Jebel Ali Beach resort and Spa It seems as if you are in another city even though you are in Dubai!

Wow what a hideous human being! Some people just really don't know how to behave. Explaining things to a child is fine, but there are ways and means of doing it, without being a nuisance to others. I hate sitting next to the 'commentators' and I can't count how many times I've had to say 'excuse me, but I've paid to watch the film, nt to listen to you explain every single scene'. One woman I said this to, got the right hump, go up and as she went to leave with her boyfriend who she'd been yapping away to the whole time, said to me 'you better know who you're speaking to before you say anything' - oh really? I simply replied 'who? clearly someone with bad manners, who doesn't know how to behave in public!!!''. Soon shut her up and she left. I have no tolerance for poor manners, no matter WHO they are or think they are. That made me laugh. I recently heard someone say " Do you not know who I am" and the person shouted down the queue "does anyone know who this person is as they don't know who they are". The entire queue laughed and needless to say the person went very red and shuffled off

Im thinking these rates are sooo inflated already! if you check dubizzle the market is already demanding a high price and the RERA calculator is even higher than that! how was this updated? based on what...??? its ridiculous to have a decree which monitors rental increases but actually the prices are suddenly way inflated now! im not sure if you have noticed... even some normal restaurants (eg: Foodcourts) have increased every item on the menu is 2 or 3 aed already! im just trying to think, everything is inflated... our salaries havent been revised (which will not and even if they do it might be very small compared to the accumulated increase in expenditure) how are people going to survive? wouldnt it make sense to buy a house asap before the down payment terms increase too! What goes up must come down :-)

Can I use the above for my IPad to get Facetime? Yes. Essentially you need to jailbreak using evasi0n - making sure you read all the instructions very carefully and follow them to the letter - and then use Cydia to install the FT activator. That might sound complicated, but it's actually *much* easier than it used to be. Google will find you all the answers you need, but of course ultimately you do it at your own risk. When I updated to IOS7 on my iphone FT appeared but it didn't on the Ipad That suggests that the iPhone isn't a UAE model but the iPad is. If the iPhone *is* a UAE model, then you got lucky there, and it's possible FT may disappear again after a future update. edited by Madge_Gustard on 08/01/2014 Thanks

the RERA Rent calculator is bizarre - the rent rates are showing soo high and they have not differentiated between elite properties versus normal ones... for example downtown all the buildings have similar rate estimates , its about 100k for 1bhk and the same in JLT. i cant imagine in JLT 100k for one bedroom as stated on the RERA calculator...we are safe for this year but in general these rates are just strange! surely companies are not going to increase our salaries by 15% or 20% to match these standards of living... moreover now even restaurants will increase prices since they will recover rent increase from us! Do you have the link for it please?
